the better question is, any chance of getting this after tomorrow? (if you plan on only getting the SteelBook) but if you just want regular, then yeah, I'm sure it will be $5 one day
I had no problem pming at BB for years! They know me and they love me. :D
I'm as easygoing as they come, but I must look mean... cause I catch grief fairly often, lol. This past Christmas, the store manager came over to help with some register price matches and freaked out yelling for me to leave because I wanted to match 3 items (the cashier was new and kept calling him over). I was as calm as I've ever been, so it was definitely confusing. I ended up saying "You aren't dealing with this very well, are you? Let me help you with this, man. Don't crack under the holiday pressure!", lol. His employees must not like him, cause they were laughing out loud at my comments. He was so rude, I couldn't hold back.

He saw me in the store the next week, and came over to ask how I was doing. I squared up to him and let him know I didn't appreciate how he talked to me that day. He didn't apologize or even own up to his actions, but he's been acting like an old friend since the day I confronted him about it. Some people are like that, I guess.

I read somewhere that there is 2nd shipment coming next week even if is sold out at day one. So be sure to check back in 2-3 days. After that there will be no more.

I just placed an order on BB.com for the DVD SE. I hope it comes with the minipedia, but I have the actual book so it's not a big deal if it doesn't. I hope it ships quick!!!!

FYI, there's no stock at the warehouse, just like The Hurt Locker. BB.com usually find any store that have 1 then ship it directly to you. So there's nothing at the warehouse. The chance are you'll received cancellation after the store's stock are gone.

This is an extremely misleading way to handle this. I wish BB could be as upfront and helpful as it's younger cousin, FutureShop.
So you guys are saying that I probably won't get my order?
I don't think there should be a supply problem with the DVD version. At least, not from what I know about the recent past releases. We aren't entirely sure how limited the Blu-ray quantities are.

im really confused by all the discussion of this. i preordered the blu-ray steelbook about 5 or 6 days ago for pickup tomorrow at my local store. is it really going to be that much of a hassle to get the steelbook, which is CLEARLY in the item description of our orders? also, why is everyone saying that we wont get the encyclopedia when it clearly states that is included aswell?

I received my shipping confirmation for a Halo Legends: SE Exclusive Steelbook packaging Blu-ray disc about 5 hours ago. Hopefully I receive a steelbook, if not I will be calling up customer service.

argh, fine, I just caved in and pre-ordered for in-store pickup. I'm definitely going to shop the floor first to see how many are out and what the situation on the 'pedia is. Maybe I'll even grab a second, or let the online transaction die out..with the rising popularity of these releases, I'm not going to risk being late by an hour b/c I can't make it by opening.

BB.com does stock items, and if they're not showing as available for shipping, they're out of stock. And like all BB.com orders, they can oversell their inventory.

They won't have a store ship the item to you, there's no ability in-store for that to happen.

The situation iP detailed has happened to me three times now. I don't trust shipping or in-store preorders at this point... I've raised hell at my own store, so I'm hoping I've affected some change. But there's nothing I can do about the site allowing me to order to ship home, and then putting it on backorder, followed by a cancellation notice.

YMMV but I just had success getting BB to price match Target's $20 price on the BB exclusive steelbook. Just putting some hope out there. :)

Sweet.. Thanks for the info. I did the in-store pickup option this morning and got the 2nd email saying its ready for pickup so hopefully I won't get the shaft of life. I won't be able to pick it up till tonight...

Thanks for the info Vader, I'll try to take my break right around 10am to go to the store and pick my order up and possibly get a second one.

Just got out of class and went to best buy, failed on the target price match, bunch of douschebags (the usual)

no problem! and yea, complete ymmv on price matching to target. I got into a full-fledged argument with the "manager." What pisses me off the most is that the girl that was working at customer service was yet again, the girl who told me they didn't accept manufacturer's coupons. The manager gave me this whole speech about how they added bonus means that they are two completely different products. And then he started referring to the encyclopedia as a "DVD." Long story short, he was an asshole, and I'm now on hold for customer relations through 1-888-BEST-BUY.

In defense of Best Buy issuing a PM on this is against their policy. It's an exclusive not offered at Target and they are under no obligation to honor their price. With that said I was able to PM my copy, but I certainly would not be on the phone complaining about it had they not done so since they would have been doing their job correctly.

Penguin, if possible just go back a few days from now and hope that they don't remember you, present them with the receipt and the ad, don't bring the product in. That's what I plan on doing later this week.

I grabbed my steelbook copy shortly after Best Buy opened this morning. My heart filled with joy when I found what I thought was the last steelbook copy, but then my hopes were crushed when I saw that the right edge of the book was also crushed. I sought out a customer service rep and asked if they may have had more of these special editions in stock and luckily they had a display stand filled with a couple more.

I did not bother price matching as my BestBuy are pretty tight on the policy and I was just happy to have the copy in the first place.

I didn't call because of them not price matching. I called because of how unprofessional the manager was and the dumb bitch behind the customer service counter was. This was the same employee that told me best buy doesn't accept manufacturer's coupons..

Hrm. I was going to netflix this, but it's tempting just to pick it up outright. The reviews seem to be mostly positive, and I'm headed to Best Buy today anwyay...

You guys should have no trouble PMing at the CS counter after already buying it. The receipt says "BD- Halo Legends" and mentions nothing about Steelbook or Exclusive.

If that's the case then I apologize for assuming differently. Yes you have every right to call and complain about that.

There were at least 10 copies at my Best Buy. How limited of a release was this? Some are saying there were only 2-3 at their store, but I had a boatload at mine.

Price Matched (I always try to get a female cashier and talk to her through the entire thing). I completely agree with Raven6009 here. I back off immediately if they call me on the exclusivity of the item. It is ludicrous to expect them to price match, but I try anyways.

I've done numerous pre-orders with in-store pickup and never had any issues with any of them.

The one I went to had at least 25 steelbooks for blu-ray, sucks that the one I bought has two small dents on the front cover though.

Thank you for the suggestion. I did that, but received not even an apology. I started filling out the surveys that you get on the receipts, and the store manager finally got the message yesterday. It's been 4 months since I first contacted them about the preorder issues.

There's about at least 15 copies of steelbook in my Best Buy. Looks like they finally learned after the Hurt Locker Steelbook. :)

There seemed to be around 10-15 copies at the HIP Best Buy in Norridge, IL as well. ...and as I stated previously, there were no issues with price matching the Target price either.

No problem w/ my in-store pickup. I got nervous b/c I saw a regular BD case in the bin, but mine was at the bottom! They had 5 more copies on the floor, but only on the cardboard display. I didn't pick up any more. Crazy some people reporting so many copies! guess they may last a couple of days..

Hmmm, looks like this was massively overproduced and will likely be much cheaper in the future. I was going to pick it up on regular Blu @ Target for $19.99, but now I'll probably wait until Best Buy drops the price on the steelbook.

Picked up my .com order and picked up another one to collect. Not sure if I'll be able to PM the .com order, the receipt doesn't even show the price since I used a RZ Cert, also the receipt says that .com pricematching policy varies from that at a store. :whistle2:?

Oh and BTW the store I went to had about 10...who knows if there was more in the back though...I hope not.
