The best one to do it on is multi-team SWAT on Pinnacle. 2 players spawn on banshee side most of the time. If you get the double there, immediately focus on one of the two towers and you should be able to pick someone off right after.

If you post your availability in the ODST thread you may come up with something. The problem we are having is that we can't get 4 people at the same time. But if more people posted when they were available, then there would be a better chance to get a group of 4 going. I think there are at least a few of us who can play on times other than saturday nights... if we could get 4 together.
 
Got my triple kill during a game of king of the hill, throwing nades in the are you need to be inside. :D Im glad thats over.... before i had a game where i got 7 double kills, and couldnt seem to get the 3rd kill in time. I think it was swat on blastoff.

I really hate swat on powerhouse. That is not a good map for that gametype.

Got my triple the same way. hardest part was not getting in infection and rocket race games (lots of double kills in RR but no triples. 1st game of KOH got it. Daily challenges put to bed for the day.
 
RumblePit Infection is where I got my kiltacular for the avatar helmet. Seems like a good place for a triple kill.
 
Bungie needs to think twice about some challenges though. I noticed alot of people camping trying to get the two assassination one.
 
Getting two assassinations in a match is pretty easy. Don't really see why anyone would have to go out of your way to get that one. There are plenty of times in a match where I pass up assassinations and just go for the beatdown, so I don't open myself up with the animation.

The 50 firefight matches has pretty much turned every firefight match I go into a situation where one or two guys simply aren't even playing. I think you should get booted if you're idle in any MP gamemode.

I dont really mind it, it just means i get to kill more enemies, and get those commendations faster.

Personally i dont like playing regular firefight. Id much rather play rockets or snipers. When i get into a regular match i dont even want to play it.

One thing i wish i could do is change my ability while im still alive. Sometimes the match starts before i have time to pick which ability i want. Whats really weird is sometimes when the match lags and it restarts, my ability will be lost, and i wont be able to do any ability until i die and spawn again. It doesnt happen often, but it happens.

I have the heart attack armor effect, i honestly cant remember ever seeing someone else using this armor effect. I see plenty of confetti armor effects though.

Its nice to see people who get to Lt. Colonel not using black visors with EVA helmets. Thats what i use, and thought that combo would be very popular.

Mine have turned into lag-fests.

To combat those that don't play, If you somehow don't complete the round (run out of lives or time) you don't get the credit. Just go idle and then leave their party.

I only played a few games today, but three separate times I died in a one on one shooting match while watching someone on my team coming up from behind to assassinate my killer. I'd have lived if they'd fired a couple of rounds. Selfish jerks...
 
Man, my skills atrophied fucking fast. Work has kept me away from the game all of this week and now I can't seem to hit a thing with the DMR :lol:

I did mange to hit Captain, though. That was a bloody long level.
 
Went out today and traded in Modern Warfare 2 for 12 pounds store credit and purchased Halo Reach.
A bargain I will never look back on.

Or any online game. If you want to play team modes you need to be in a party. Hardly ever get randoms with mics who want to work together even in Team Objective.

If you ever played Halo 3 at the level 40 or above ranks, you needed teamwork to win. I was able to get randoms to cooperate effectively all the time. This new ranking system just encourages selfish play.

Thats why they added arena which is where you need skill to rank up on your rating.
 
I'd also think the high rank players would be playing enough to have a group of friends to play with or start a clan etc.

I've never had good luck with randoms in team based games. But I always play the social lists (if available) as I stink! So maybe it was better in the ranked mode (and is better in Arena) etc.

Not exactly. You don't need to effectively work together with your team at all, you just need to look out for when you can hoard all the power weapons for yourself and when you can sneak in a DMR shot to steal your teammates hard earned kill. You can go 1600+ in games where you lose if you are good enough, all you need is a crappy team.
 
But Im saying the higher rating is where everyone wants to be at, so yea the True Skill from Halo 3 is gone but Bungie brought in Arena to not make players feel like this MW2 ranking system all over again.
 
Whats with all the team killing assclowns as of late? I was killed purposely by teammates in the first 3 games I played today in Big Team Battle. Then, I had a teammate intentionally shoot the hatch off of the tank I was driving and take my shields down so I could be killed by somebody from the other team. Its not even worth playing without actual friends.

I was betrayed three times in one BTB game. One guy ran me over with a wraith, i didnt even get one boot player option.

Yeah, i hit Colonel last night. Checked out Emiles helmet with different colors. Nothing too exciting. I think i might start buying some armor, even if i dont want to use it. Just to get my armor completion percentage higher. I already use the Heart Attack Armor effect, so i dont think i can combine it with the thunderstorm, and i dont really like the thunderstorm anyway. I think i have a little over 225,000 credits to spend.

Ended up buying a lot of armor, most of the things that were cheap. Now i have 37% armor completion, and 44% commendation progress.

You can never complain about challenges unless their are extremely difficult, yesterday's was cake and they were worth a ton. Today is easy peasy and still worth more than zero bonus cR.
 
Yeah, yesterday's were really, really easy and worth a lot. Today's might not be worth a bunch, but they are all a breeze to get in a short time. Plus, the campaign one more than makes up for it.
 
I had a sour experience a few days ago and lately I havn't even felt like playing reach. I just realized the community as a whole is utter shit. I was playing a game of BTB(god help us all, this mode has all the asshats) I go to get a vehicle. One of my asshole "teammates" decides to try and kill me so he can take it. Takes out my shields and I'm like hell naw. I turn my fucking ass around and splatter him all over the ground. All I run into are selfish players and I hate it. I got this game to hold me over until Socom 4, but it seems I might be looking for something else.

I played Socom 2 from beginning to end and that community had its moments, but when it came down to it, it was all respectful fun.

Thats why you must wait until Black Ops comes out, it should promise to be better than Reach.
 
Not for nothing, but just about any major game I play online nowadays has a community of mostly assholes. I find that more niche games generally don't, but then again, their MP communities die out pretty damn quickly, so there's the trade-off. Unfortunately, though the gaming community continues to grow and gain a more mature audience, there are still millions of kids out there playing games, and many of them are simply little brats. Then again, I've run into my fair share of asshole adults, too, so there you go.
 
I've only played for a while with my friend the other day, but I feel like I have to chime in here. Aren't you guys being a little too harsh? I have never personality felt like there was a compelling sense of community in any console game I've played. You can't expect anything more than people that want to jump on and play, which includes kids and asshole adults. That's not to say that I don't enjoying playing, I can go on Live with or without my friends and expect to kill a couple of hours on Reach, assuming I get a new console soon. Is there something I'm overlooking as someone that just started?

You don't list your gamertag on CAG. You see a forum full of dudes posting about Halo Reach. Have you thought about trying to add some of them and partner up on multiplayer? May increase your enjoyment...
 
I just ran through Winter Contingency on Legendary without dying and didn't get the challenge completed. Do you have to turn team scoring off or what?

happened to me just now as well. then I went back and entered it through the challenge screen for it to set up properly. get all the way to the last Elite with the Sword and bam he gets me lol. My own fault but still it is frustrating to do it and not have it count.


and thank you to whoever posted the different video about the if they came to hear me beg achievement. I finally got it earlier today with the help of that post. and come to think the post is true because every time that I did it, I always had the aim on the elite and with the different way he said, It popped after the first time I successfully landed the assassination. this is still the most ridiculous achievement ever that is not guaranteed. smh@bungie:shame:

I really dont like 1 flag CTF, just because it takes so long. 2 rounds is good, i think 4 rounds is too much. Most of the time no one even scores anyway.

Man i keep hitting people with ghosts and they just bounce off and wont die! Once of twice is fine, but more than that and it starts to get annoying LOL.

I just quit 3 games in a row, and then shut my xbox off. I dunno if im playing way too much or what, but this game is getting annoying. I get in a banshee and 5 little bullets later it blows up. Its begining to be not fun anymore.

You think thats bad, try playing 3 arena games in a row where someone quits after just one death. Playing 2v4 in arena just isn't that fun.
 
I used to have a fun time 100% but now that I'm up in the Warrant Officer Grade 2 level my fun is slowing down a bit. I don't get it, we constantly get credits and then face up against people that have a lot of credits? As some point it's just going to level out to always getting your ass kicked. I don't mind the challenge but if I have to have adrenaline shots later on to keep up with the field than I think I'll just stick with Firefight and Campaign.

I'm also really sick of double melee kills. Every time someone is close to me they constantly run and melee me which sometimes just ends up with having both of us go flying as the result of both hitting melee at the same time.
 
Finally got the weekly challenge for last week right before going to sleep. 50 FF matches is way to much. Makes you hate FF and all the ppl who join up and quite. Its stupid since they dont get credit for the match till the end. Also hate the ppl who join in and then go AFK the whole damn match. I did half that 50 solo.

Anyway this weeks looks easier. I am so addicted to checking the challenges first thing every morning then making time to knock all I can out. I didnt get the Winter Contingency one though. Not enough time.

Hey according to their update I am L33T 5%. Legendary solo achievement! I didnt think it would be so fer people. I know I lack just one more achievement which is that one based on Lt Col rank. Also last night I passed 300K cR. Woot. Still dont know if I should just spend it or hold out to see if I can get the cool helmet effects. I have yet to play with someone who has that 300k hearts thing or either of the two helmet effects.
