Halo: Reach

That sucks about sniper attack. I'll keep doing gruntpoclypse on beachhead with the rocket turret, though. Works pretty nice especially for the groups that spawn near you.

Rocket turret? Where is that located?
Rocket turret? Where is that located?
When you spawn, it's straight ahead of you, ground level. To the left of the lake. You drive straight ahead with the lake to your right. I'd say stop about 300 feet. You would to be somewhat covered by the rock formation, and to be a good distance from the groups spawning. It takes some fine tuning, but when you do it, you can kill the grunts with ease, work on your vehicular commendation, and usually get perfections (or whatever the commendation is for not dying in FF). Don't be afraid to hop out of the turret if things get hot with a fuel rod, etc. Also, I'll hop out and clean up a few of the grunts that are walking around if they're not doing downhill.

It's a pretty effective way to do G-Poc, IMO, and it seems like it's more fun.
You can buy the regular recon for like 100000
Yeah I saw, but it looks so naked w/out the extra attachment. I'd probably by 100,000 cR worth of other stuff before I drop the creds on that.
Ugh Bungie managed to kill SWAT for me...Magnum matches suck!
This, along with how they added in another crappy map. I really feel like reach doesnt have many good maps, and this 10 dollar map pack doesnt look like its going to help much.

Seems like Bungie is going one step forward, two steps back in terms of playlists. There's usually something I like about their updates, but there's other things I'm like "This sucks".
I keep getting my hopes up for good challenges and I don't know why.

Every game mode on the cage? Are you fucking serious?
Fixed. How long until that map is removed from matchmaking? Worst map in the game.

The idea, or the concept of it, is cool, the way bungie did it, is terrible. It's too cramped, there's next to no cover unless you "camp" which I have no shame in doing but crybabies wanna cry.

Hemo is really the only semi-balanced map, but it's still messed up to where red's spawn side has the advantage of higher ground and more cover.

Then factor in that you can shoot from the face, you can hide in all the rocks with your head barely sticking out and no one will be able to find out unless they are looking at that area when you shoot.

Oh my god every map sucks on Snipers especially, I love it when it spawns me in front of someone too.

After completing the 4 double kills challenge last night, the Reach servers went down, I got the credits but later when the servers came back up, the challenge was still locked, so I got to unlock it 2x's last night for a good 2000cRs :D

Honestly it seems like the only fun playlist is Living Dead. Everything else is just aggravating because the mechanics hardly work properly or the players just ruin it it.

and LOL @ getting messages saying "how you get kats arm?!?"
The Cage is probably my favorite map. lol
It's one of my favorite, too, but it doesn't always work great for every game mode. Still enjoy it in most cases, though.

Loved Living Dead in Halo 3 but was shocked at how much I hated it last night. Giving the Zombies no shields and evade doesnt work.

You know, any other day, I probably get 30 assists easily. Now, I can't get any. I figure, I'll go play Rumble Pit, where I suck, and just try to cause mayhem. I actually ended up winning the first game and coming in 2nd the next one.

Easiest way to get assists is now Multi-Team games. Stick with your partner and you are bound to get them since you will both be shooting the same enemies.... and/or.... vote for multi-team Oddball, Headhunter or KotH match and go nuts with grenades. I racked up 25 in two games earlier. Gotta grab the other 5 later.

I had a similar issue. For some reason I was in the zone with Rumble Pit today. I did end up getting all the assists though by playing enough games.

I don't like the sniper attack change. I can understand not being able to pick up projectile weapons from the ground, but you should be able to pick up more grenades.

Can you not even pick up grenades? Wow, that stinks. I can understand not being able to get the fuel rod gun. That's fine. I realize that pretty much makes the game a breeze. But I would still like to get my hands on needler or something. If a group of higher level enemies get me near, I live having a stronger secondary weapon.

What do you mean by sniper attack? I was playing firefight snipers and was able to pick up other weapons.

Firefight now takes around 30 minutes and you only end up with around 2,000 - 2,500 points. No wonder i cant get 3 randoms to play with. First game only found one person, second game found two. But unless you just like having fun in that mode, its not worth the time/credits anymore.

From b.net
Score Attack
Removed Crash Site
Added Mythic Score Attack
You can no longer pickup other weapons in Sniper Attack

Not sure how you were able to pick up other weapons, but I wasn't able to pick up any more 'nades. The only way to get 2 more (that I know of) is to die.

Just played a game of oddball and ended with 25 kills. I had two other matches with 26 kills, but i really dont think im going to be able to get this weekly challenge.

He was in firefight snipers. The change is only for Score Attack Sniperfight I think.
Halo Reach is awesome but armor lock may well be the worst thing ever invented
Oh god save it for Bungie.net

I use the shit out of Armor Lock and it's the only non worthless AA.
Okay, let me rephrase. It completely ruins the game.
So you rephrase because it doesn't unbalance the game and it ruins the game, meaning you don't like it because you get killed by people who use it and it ruins your fun.

Well its the only ability that prevents you from receiving damage. I just used it now, i was almost dead, used the armor lock and he stood behind me like he thought that would give him the advantage. But you can turn the camera and face him, which is what i did and i came out of my armor lock, melee'd him, he was dead.

He'll think twice about standing so close to someone who's in armor lock. Not to brag but if you know how to time the armor lock timer you can throw a grenade at the person's feet and as soon as he gets out, he either dies or has no shield and is an easy kill.

That's not really true against really good players.

I actually prefer camo though (which also ruins gameplay imo) but I like that it lets me run around instead of crouching because of the scrambled radar. I would say both are pretty overpowered but they're there so might as well use them.

I did that all the time, was great to see them come out of armor lock and blow up. I bet they were like

I don't see what isn't true about what I said regardless of any skill. Their skill won't reduce the damage they take from a grenade.

They won't put themselves in that kind of position. Plus good players usually use mics and play with teams. That means they stick together and communicate. One armor locks to make you wait while a teammate is coming around the corner. It's not that they can magically make armor lock work more effectively. lol

[rant]
These newer, longer rounds of Firefight either make games a lot more fun or a lot worse. A lot more fun if you get a good pick up group or a lot worse if you only get three people to start, or someone afks or disconnects.
[/rant]

Armor Lock have some issues when you're in a small room or too close to a wall, the camera zooms in behind the wall sometimes and you're firing blind for a split second after it runs out. Otherwise, I've been taking it more often lately with much success...could be magic, but I think it's more luck and timing at this point.

As I said earlier, I bet if you surveyed enough players, every one of the armor abilities would be called cheap by at least one person. People get frustrated when something gets them killed, especially when a skilled player and/or team uses it and wipes the floor with them. In the end, though, every ability has its strengths and weaknesses. There's always a trade-off and, more importantly, always a way to counter what someone else is doing.

I went from Reach to Halo waypoint via the option in the start menu, and i unlocked the halo reach beta shirt for my avatar. Was hoping to get a new halo reach nameplate but doesnt look like it.

Another day, and i am still without the weekly challenge. Got in the 20s but nothing close to 30. I really dont think ill get it. There just doesnt seem to be enough time for me to rack up kills in games like oddball or crazy kings.

Man tonight felt so bad, like i would die so easy...yet i would have to do double damage to people just to kill them. So many BS calls, like 1 melee deaths, very little ammo used on me. Yet id put a whole AR into someone, or nade them plus melee and they wouldnt die. A few times id melee them twice and they wouldnt die. It gets really frustrating when i feel like im at a disadvantage. I dont know if this is because my internet sucks, or just the game not showing how much ammo im really taking. It gets to the point where i dont even feel like trying anymore.

Im 200,000 credits away from brigadier, so ill probably make it there in about 5-7 days i think. Depends on how much i play.

damn all i have so far is that little bot things from halo 3...
it takes so long...maybe its jsut the lag i used to have when on live??? but i couldnt shott a fly on the wall...much better now so i guess ill get mroe stuff soon .woot.woot.woot. lol

hmm little off topic..any Aussies wanna pm me a good place to buy reach??? ie the cheapest cheers!

Yeah, I stink but I have no problem with the armor abilities. Everyone has access to the same ones.

It's nothing like the Modern Warfare games where higher level players (who are already mostly more skilled) have access to better weapons and perks. That's unbalanced.

I think you're giving people way too much credit. When my buddy still played this game we played doubles arena and both used armor lock, there were times where we just destroyed other teams by perfected use of armor lock and there were times where we got stuck with bad timing, a bad grenade, lag, etc.

I know what you're talking about because use that same tactic, or used to when my buddies still played, but it doesn't make players an unstoppable force. There's still a lot of luck in this game, way more when compared to Halo 3.

Its not always a question of can you kill them but more a question of how fun it is. Its fun to use AL but playing against a whole team that uses it is not fun. Theres little doubt that it needs tweaks.
