I want Sleepy Hollow...though I don't know what to get as my second title as I already have what I want from that list. Never seen Top Gun...do you guys think its worth it?

I preordered NEXT and Transformers, got NEXT sometime ago, still waiting for them to ship Transformers...didn't go out today so I know I'll get it late in the week. I'll have to pick up a copy at Target or Best Buy this Tue.
 
^ cancelled my pre order at fye for transformers because they usually ship the friday before it comes out and i receive on saturday (located in so. cal) ill just have to wake up early and get it at best buy with my reward zone certificate.

That's not a bad idea...I was going to go for it for the rebate, but this movie I'll gladly pay full price for no questions asked. If it doesn't ship by 7pm today I'm canceling tonight. Now I gotta figure out if there's a mom & pop video store that carryes HD DVD so that maybe I can get it early.

How about we make a thread with every DVD deal, that way we can only have one and keep it tidy. Same thing for videogames, right? You're just an intrusive mod who gets off on power.

And what rules? There is no rule saying "All HD-DVD" deals must go here. It's all in your head Linkin.

Yep. Only because I don't want (or feel like) to waddle through countless fanboy posts just to find out that Amazon has Movie X on sale for Price Y until Day Z.
 
I actually don't see a problem having new threads when talking about one specific, popular or new release HD-DVD or Blu Ray on sale. Something like that Planet Earth Fry's thread or a new thread devoted to a Transformers deal seems logical to me since plenty of people are interested in those DVD's right now and deals on those will just get buried here when other stuff gets posted. As far as something general like the Fry's sale on the $9.99 and $13.50 discs, that certainly seems suited for this and the other thread.

Just my 1 cent.

My point is it only came redundant after Linkin posted it in his own thread. This isn't the first time Linkin crossed the line of what a mod should do, and I'm assuming it isn't going to be the last. So yeah, maybe I should save my energy for calling someone out on bullshit that is probably going to happen again.

For those of you that have Fry's stores, its been reported on the Fidodido thread that the HD DVD's do ring up for $13.50 so you don't have to buy 2 to get the deal. It has been confirmed at one location so far, but most likely a nationwide thing. I'll try to stop by after work, if not tomorrow and pick up Sleepy Hollow.

Guess it was sorta confusing in my post. They were all sold out (hence the 'sold faster than Blades of Glory on Blu-Ray' line). Thats the only thing that sucks about their B&M. Other than pre-orders, they only get 2-3 copies of most new BR/HD's. They only had 2 copies of 300 on release day. Speaking of Transworld, its OOS now, but Wherehouse & Secondspin.com had A Scanner Darkly used for $9.99. May want to keep an eye out in case they happen to get more in.

I can confirm single titles ring up for $13.50 in Houston, TX, picked up Top Gun and some blu-rays. It seems whenever there is a 2 for X special, each title is just X/2 at Frys. Thats how the BDs were also and how they were a couple months ago.

So guys, any places that I can import HD DVDs from that isn't outrageously overpriced, AND accepts debit cards?


By overpriced I mean around $50 a movie, I mainly want the Prestige, and I know the average price of that is around $40.

If you are willing to go straight to the source, Amazon UK has it for £18.38 ($37.33) after VAT (20% tax) is taken off and shipping is added on. This is probably your best choice if you want more than one import since the shipping price stays the same. That's what I did to get my Prestige and Pianist.
