Imports Links: Exclusive Titles and Suggestions:
Anybody interested in imports, EzyDVD is doing a 2 for 50 (or 25 a pop) sale for Universal titles.

http://www.ezydvd.com.au/promo.zml?pid=647&ddat=1&dsal=1&dper=1

Import exclusive titles include

Rambo 1-3
The Holiday
Total Recall

And there is also non-combo versions of

Children Of Men
Smokin' Aces
American Werewolf In London
Miami Vice

for you combo haters.

The really nice thing is that the AUD is weaker than the US dollar. So I was able to grab Rambo: First Blood for only 27.23 AUD (US $22.39)

Every place that accepts credit should also accept debit. You have a little Visa/Mastercard logo on it right?

If you are willing to go straight to the source, Amazon UK has it for £18.38 ($37.33) after VAT (20% tax) is taken off and shipping is added on. This is probably your best choice if you want more than one import since the shipping price stays the same. That's what I did to get my Prestige and Pianist.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos...64014-5414040?_encoding=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
thanks, it's just that most online places just say credit, and not debit. I wasn't sure of it.

Looks like I'll buy the Prestige eventually, even though I want Running Scared in HD (they have it at exploited cinema), that's New Line so it should come out here on HD DVD eventually

I only want to import movies that will never come out on HD DVD here, unless Blu Ray crumbles & falls all of the sudden

But of course I want to buy this first before I start importing HD DVDs:

Picked up Sleepy Hollow and Top Gun at Fry's yesterday for $13.49ea. Also, Planet Earth was on sale there for $64...not as cheap as online but pretty good nontheless.

this would of been a big week for hd if they ran the b1g1... alot of ppl are already coming in to get transformers and they could of sold alot more software with a sale

Yea, I was quite suprised. The BR camp said they were going to do something for the Transformers release. I guess HD feel they dont need to do anything special. At least you know they'll have the highest new release sales for the week of 10/16.

Well... maybe if the CC 'sale' holds true you might have one. Various other places (avs, hidefdigest, etc) are reporting that ALL HD media are ringing up BOGO yesterday. It's not just the Disney BRD stuff but any 2 BRDs or HD DVDs will ring up half price. Some thought it was B2G1 but more have confirmed BOGO instead. Still, take it as YMMV.

I'm betting they fix this before Tuesday when Transformers comes out - they might've fixed it already today. If a CC were closer I would've trekked down there yesterday and picked up quite a few titles, but the info didn't come in 'til late in the day. Half off is hard to beat :).

This does not work online - already tried it.

I hope this turns out to be an unadvertised sale - will be watching everywhere to see if it holds up today and might have to take a trip to CC to see what I can come away with.

is there any good deals on the a2 now? i know amazon had some good ones recently, but they seem to be gone. want to pick up my friend one for his birthday, but i got a month or so to work with so waiting for a good deal

Whoa...that will definately be interesting.

Wal MArt B&M now carries the A2W for $192 instore.

I picked up Knocked Up HD DVD & Ice Age 2 Blu Ray from Circuit City for a total of $30 + tax, then Robocop Blu Ray and Usual Suspects Blu Ray for $30 total. The breakdown was each movie drops to $15. I tried Kingdom of Heaven Blu Ray & Children of Men HD DVD, but it came up regular price. Didn't try $24.99 movies.

So this deal at CC is working on HD DVD's as well? Any titles?

I believe ALL $29.99 movies are working at CC for HD-DVD....not sure if you can miz and match. Hopefully they don't fix this tomorrow. Transformers would be nice to purchase.

24.99 HDVD's work at Circuit City. I picked up the following:

Dirty Dozen: $12.50
Phantom of the Opera: $12.50

40 yr Old Virgin: $12.50
Knocked Up: $15.00

My 29.99$ movie choices (Blades of Glory & Scorpion King) did not work. I tried TMNT (at 34.99$) and it did not work as well. The cashier said only the 24.99$ movies would work - I guess the 29.99$ movies might be YMMV :(. I did nab 6 titles for 75$ total, so not so bad afterall :) :) :).

I also got in on this. The lady at the cash register was like WTF!? Anyone know if this sale is legit, or a bug in the POS?

i couldn't help myself after work so i hit up the one by my house, these are the ones i picked up

constantine - 12.50
billy madison - 12.50
40 year old virgin - 12.50
next - 15.00
happy gilmore - 12.50
bourne identity - 12.50
bourne supremacy - 12.50
troy directors cut - 12.50 (was marked 29.99 but rang up as 24.99)

just transformers and one more tomorrow then i'm done

The POS screen apparently shows a pop-up to accept a blu-ray BOGO promo. I think it is only supposed to be Disney BRDs like the sale paper has, but CC might've been lazy about programming the POS and let the cashiers decide. Some stores are overriding the discount on HD DVDs and not giving the promo while others are more than happy to give it.

I hope they don't cancel this so everyone can get Transformers + something else for the price of... Transformers anywhere else :)

I got the two Bourne movies for $26.xx.

Tried to get a copy of Heroes and Matrix Collection, but they didnt give half off.

Had the cashier ring up Lethal WEapon 1 and 2, and they rang up for 26.xx total as well, but decided against it.

I think i'll try again in the morning to get Transformers and a freebie

I picked up Clerks 2 and Mallrats earlier with the Circuit City B!G! sale. Went back tonight and the Cashier showed me a notice they received from corporate stating that it was an error to allow HD DVD titles so the stores have been notified ....but the system has not been corrected. So depending on the cashier you get and if they have been informed, the deal should still be good.

Umm... since it's only for $29.99 and less, why would you try Heroes and Matrix Collection?

when i went, the woman got prompted about the blu ray thing

the manager was right there and he's like hd dvd and blu ray are the same thing just hit ok

consumer confusion!!

I love when that works in my favor.

I remember when my (OG) Xbox broke, I took it back to Wal Mart (the place I bought it a year earlier) with no receipt and the guy said "no problem, you wouldn't believe how faulty these things are. you could set up 5 of these in a row and I guarantee 4 will overheat within 12 hours."

Stupid as shit but it still worked for me instead of against me.

Because I tried before anyone knew which titles worked and which didn't. jackass.

Anyone yet try this today with Transformers? I'll gladly forego using my Best Buy reward zoen certificates if it means getting a free movie from CC.

Confirming it works with transformers.

Transformers 15.00
Knocked Up 15.00
Total after tax 31.98 + a free autobots hat, woot!

I wish my CC had the warriors HDDVD in stock, I wanted that and transformers:bomb:
it seems like it's not working in all cc stores, but it worked for me in doral, fl!
what worked over there!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worked for me once more on Transformers (15.00) and Troy Directors Cut (12.50).

Couldn't find 40-year-old version at the store i went to, so i'll be going to a different one tonight for that and Knocked up.

The only titles that wont work at 34.99 and above, I mix and matched.

Transformers (2 copies ) 15.00
Reaping 15.00
Return to house on haunted hill 15.00
Meet the Fockers 12.50
Red Dragon 12.50

72 something total .

Worked 4 Me!!!

Transformers - 15
Breach - 15

Transformers - 15
Transformers - 15

The Bourne Supremacy - 12-50
Hulk - 12.50

Only 90 with tax WooHoo

In for Transformers and Smoking Aces! FTW

The dude initially said no to the promo, then I asked for him to check with the manager, in the end, the customer is always right! FTW!!

Yep, I can confirm it works @ CC in Lexington, KY.

Got 4 HD (Tranoformers, batman, bourne supremecy, army of darkness), 2 Blu Ray (FF 4 - silver surfer, 300) for less than $90.

Confirmed at East Madison CC. Transformers and V for Vendetta for $27.50

I would have picked up more, but their HD DVD selection wasn't great.

Confirmed in Fort Wayne, IN accross from Glenbrook on coliseum. Picked up Transformers and Half Baked...tried to get The Departed because it was tagged at 29.99 when all the copies behind it were marked at 34.99 but no dice. The guy working there said it seemed really random as to what was working at what wasn't, but when i went up with the departed and transformers the first time he told me right away that i could get another one for free...pretty cool o_0
