Imports Links: Exclusive Titles and Suggestions:
Anybody interested in imports, EzyDVD is doing a 2 for 50 (or 25 a pop) sale for Universal titles.

http://www.ezydvd.com.au/promo.zml?pid=647&ddat=1&dsal=1&dper=1

Import exclusive titles include

Rambo 1-3
The Holiday
Total Recall

And there is also non-combo versions of

Children Of Men
Smokin' Aces
American Werewolf In London
Miami Vice

for you combo haters.

The really nice thing is that the AUD is weaker than the US dollar. So I was able to grab Rambo: First Blood for only 27.23 AUD (US $22.39)
sweet! i'll have to try this after work... hopefully it will still be valid!
my CC in St. Louis tends to not be too quick on these things

Transformers rang up 15$ @ Duluth (Gwinnett Place) GA CC. I even got Scorpion King today to ring up 15$ unlike yesterday when it was not budging from 29.99$. :)

BTW, they had not put out TF at all - it was in a stock cart in the store - was wondering if they had sold out but it was just they were too lazy to put them out in the AM.
Buy 1 Get 1 free here in Van Nuys, CA confirmed
Awesome dude, I'm about an hour away from there but I hope the other stores nearby do the sale as well.

Hopefully this deal is still alive by the time I get off from work and they have copies of Transformers left.
Hopefully this deal is still alive by the time I get off from work and they have copies of Transformers left.
Same here, hope to grab Transformers and Troy Director's Cut.
hey is it possible to just buy one movie for the price of 15 bucks or you have to get the b1g1 free?
Not that I saw.

The guy that was ringing me up was terrific about the whole thing. He tried to get me a $34.99 title (Hot Fuzz) to come up for the deal, but it didn't work.

They didn't even have the HD version of Transformers out on the shelves until I asked about it. Thankfully I did, as I got it and the free Hat.

I got shot down at the Olympia, WA store. The guy said BOGO was Blu-Ray only. Crap. Anyone want to get me a $15 Transformers?

wicker man doesn't work either

thought the deal was dead when transformers + wicker man was full price, but tried again with a different movie and it worked

maybe we can compile a list of what works and what doesn't? here's what i bougt

works:
beerfest
dawn of the dead
wolf creek
knocked up
troy directors cut
the bourne supremecy
the bourne identity
happy gilmore
next
40 year old virgin
billy madison
constantine
evan almighty (labedl 34.99 rings up 29.99)
a mighty heart
army of darkness (1 disk, didn't try combo)

doesn't work AFAIK:
wicker man
blades of glory (tho someone said it worked for them)
any 34.99 that rings up 34.99 (hot fuzz, the fountain, the reaping, children of men, etc.)

Worked first time for me as long as I had BR in mix. Otherwise the female cashier at Racine WI will show you a box on screen that says for Blue Ray Only.

you didn't mention the great big one that worked... Transformers!
i think i'm going back after work....

I am typing this in real time as it happens.

I live about an hour away from CC but my mother works about 5 minutes from it. I told her to bring Transformers and Knocked Up to the checkout because it is b1g1 free. She then of course can't find the movies, so asks an associate where they are and tells him it is B1G1 free. The associate finds it is only Blu-Ray and goes and talks to the only checker, and then they talk. My mother then gets Transformers and brings it to the cash register, says "Wait isn't this b1g1 free?" The cashier confirms and my mom gets Transformers and Knocked Up for like $30 or whatever. I thought she failed but she pulled it off!

Confirmed in Portland, OR.

Damn...stopped by Buena Park, CA CC and they knew about the error, they got prompted for the B1G1 Blu-Ray but I was denied...I told the cashier that it was an unadverstised sale and she said it was only for Blu-Ray....I'll try another location when I get home later today.

In other news....I scored my first clearanced HD DVD at Target. Unleased HD DVD/DVD combo was on the clearance endcap for $7.49....I tried to find more so that I could sell them at cost to CAG's but, it seems that was the only one.

I went to my CC to get transformers and knocked up, and they would not let it work. They said their manager told them it was for blu rays only. Bummer.

Awesome deal.

Picked up:

Transformers x 2
The Bourne Identity
The Bourne Supremacy
King Kong
Troy: Director's Cut
Casino
12 Monkeys

This deal has spoiled me...I'm never paying more than $15 for an HD-DVD ever again.

On a separate note, are any of yall finding it difficult to rebuy high-def movies you already own on SD DVD?

I stood there in the store debating whether I should pick up all 3 Mission Impossible movies but decided against it. I already own 1 and 3 on regular DVD.
Goddamnit, I hope I can get there and grab Transformers and Knocked Up.
Got 'em no problem.

Sporadic, my CC was sold out of Next otherwise I would've picked it up for you along with Blades of Glory. Sorry.

Wish I had a CC nearby, I'd pick up Knocked Up and Transformers.. The nearest one is 45 mins away though, too far to go to be shot down

I went to get Transformers and Knocked Up, but they were out of Knocked Up, so I got Smokin' Aces instead. I don't have a player yet, so I wanted at least one title that I can play immediately.

In for transformers, flags of our fathers, corpse bride and troy directors. Confirmed in Lutherville, MD

FF: ROTSS was marked 34.xx how did you get this to work?

It can have that sticker price but ring up as $29.99 at checkout.

worked for me at west covina, ca. At first it didnt ring up but then i said i thought it was for all high definition disc and he applied the promotion and it worked. Got Transformers and Blood diamond for under 30 bucks.

Went to the CC @ Union Square in Manhattan. Got shut down :( even did the whole dumb consumer thing "oh but I thought there was a BOGO free deal" was told no, Blu-Ray only. :(

went back to the Doral, fl cc and picked up crank & 28 weeks later on br and evan almighty & next on hd dvd... $65 total!

that makes just shy of $100 and 6 hd movies in one day!

Picked up:

Transformers
Bourne Supremacy
Flags of Our Fathers
Serenity

Probably gonna come back tomorrow and pick up more stuff. Only disappointment was that they were out of Knocked Up.

Got shut down for Transformers and Knocked Up at my local CC. Called my mom back in Texas and she went and had no trouble. $30 + tax for Transformers + Knocked Up.

That brings my total to 4 HD DVDs and 10 BLU RAY Discs from this sale. Guess I am set till the next major sale .. whenever that is :)

Picked up Transformers, Dawn of the Dead, Knocked Up, and House of 1000 Corpses and a ton of BRs.

I am officially done (....until tomorrow.....maybe, crap this sucks, my wallet hates me again!).

Great deal. Just got back from the Gainesville, FL CC and made out with the last copy of Transformers and Troy Director's cut. When I went up to check out I told the girl at the register that I think these were supposed to be buy one get and one and she said yep. They didn't ring up that way at first but I think she made some kind of adjustment to get them to go through. So you may have to ask. It seems like a lot of the HD-DVDs were sold today since most of the shelves were only half full. Some of the titles I saw left were
 • Casablanca
 • Bourne Supremacy
 • Superman Returns
 • Batman Begins
 • V for Vendetta
 • Hulk
 • Troy (Director's Cut and non)
There were others but I can't think of them off the top of my head. Send me a PM if you have questions about a specific title.

I didnt even KNOW about this when I went in this morning, but thanks to the kind cashier making me aware of it, I walked out with 2 Transformers, Knocked up, and Blades of Glory
(no copies of Evan Almighty or Top Gun)

Add in my purchase of the 2 Pirates BR's from Amazon, and about 4 titles from the Fry's sale and I am going to have some fun with the PS3 and HD-dvd player

Just read over at the other forum that quite a few circuit citys have pulled the plug on this deal saying they were instructed by corporate to do so. Damn I was going to venture to another cc tomorrow. Oh well thanks so much for the heads up Ive added 10 new hddvds to my collection:applause:

Jesus do I love this site...

I have only been coming here about 8 weeks but already in numerous instances has it helped me out big-time, as I spend a lot of money each year on electronics and media.

Upon reading this thread I immediately went to CC in Meriden, CT (about 3 mins from my condo) and I asked the cashier to let me know what these rang up as, to which she started laughing, I guess people had come in already maybe?

So I got Goodfellas, Casino, Superman II: The Donner Cut, and Half-Baked...

Thanks a lot fellas, huge deal here.

I might go to another CC about 15 minutes away tomorrow just to check and see if it still would work, they didn't have Batman Begins or a few other things I would like to upgrade to HD.

Thanks again!

Oh, the only thing that sucked is Departed is 34.99 and I guess wouldn't apply, I didn't try either but didn't want to make the whole thing a spectacle.

Went to Circuit City in Orlando, Florida this evening and the deal didn't work. Maybe I didn't try the right movies, but I had them scan Mission Impossible 3 ($29.99), Transformers ($29.99), V for Vendetta ($24.99), and Batman Begins ($24.99) and none of them came up a different price. The cashiers were cool about it though, they even looked up each movie online to see if the prices would show differently online.. and they did, about five dollars more than the actual price. The cashier laughed and said, "I love our website."

So no go there. Is FYE.com the best place to get Transformers HD?

Holly Shit!!!! Finally scored at the Huntington Beach, CA location. Got:

Transformers
Smokin' Aces
The Mummy Returns
The Scorpion King
Nacho Libre
Half Baked

The guy didn't have to do anything not even approve the promo, just hit total and that was it. Nothing flashed on his screen or anything...I was even confused, I asked him if there was a promo applied he said "yeah its buy one get one free"

If you have CC's with newer computers...the touch screens, go there, seems its a lot easier.

The movies scan in full price. The half off doesnt kick in until they "finalize" the transaction for you to pay. may want to go back and try it. I've had success at the CC in Tampa, Fl.

On another note, i brought my receipt for Transformers & Troy to Best Buy tonight, and they price matched so i could use my certificates

Got:

Transformers
Knocked Up
40 Yr Old Virgin
Swordfish (wanted Top Gun or Superman returns non-combo, but neither were in stock)

for a total of $58.xx before certificates

blades of glory worked for me. also got:

Transformers
40 Year Old Virgin
The Day After Tomorrow
The Holiday

I went back and picked up Polar Express and 40 year old virgin. Oh, and the cashier threw in a Jungle Book book for my daughters that I brought in. Sometimes it's worth the hassle to bring the kids in.

I have the distinct feeling that I'll be going back for more though...

Anyone in San Diego, confirm if this is other stores.

I checked National City & Clairemont Mesa (someone else confirmed CM) and both work. CM has shit for selection. National City isn't much better but I didn't see Top Gun.

I wish CC had the 360 controllers on sale. I want to buy one, get a GC (coupon) and then use the GC to get more HD-DVD movies :D.

I wrote down a lot of the movies you guys have mention that i don't have in my catalog of 53 HD DVD's. Hoping this works after I get outta work tomorrow. Wish I saw this today when i was picking up Planet Terror. Also wish the circuit city site didn't have online only listed so i can see what stores have what i am looking for.

yea i went to another one and wicker man and blades of glory worked for me.

my friend works at the CC i couldn't get those at this morning and he said his circuit city one of the ones that updates the prices and deals instantly (most circuit citys only update once a day) and he said the computer won't let him do the deal for HD DVD's anymore, so i'm guessing today might of been the last day you could exploit this
