Too late for me, IGN already posted their trophy guide. So I'm just following that. lol I already beat the game though before looking.

Is it fairly easy to plat or is it one of those games with a retarded number of playthroughs required? I'm hoping the chapters menu means you can just replay certain events for the other path/trophy.

Goal for playthrough 1: Beat the game with best possible ending and all 4 characters survive.
Goal for playthrough 2: Make every possible "wrong" decision and see how it works out.
Goal for playthrough 3: Get last of remaining trohpies.

I had the audio glitch when
Lauren and Scott are cross checking names from Manfred's log of typewriter/sales repairs with the list of subscribers to the Origami magazine. At least, I think it glitched. It was only the last part. It may have been an artistic moment, with everything silent and with them having excited expressions, you could kinda figure it out.

I just made it past Norman's run-in with the trenchcoat figure in Paco's "office". I almost got Norman killed when he fought Mad Jack.. well, actually, I did, but I quickly went to the main menu and re-loaded an old save. I know, I didn't want to play like that, but I'm not losing anyone on my first play through.

I'm already really excited to play through the game again and make all different choices just to see what will happen. Especially with Ethan's storyline.

Well I beat Shipwreck by 1 trophy on my playthrough yesterday, getting 30 which is 49%. There's one sequence in the ending that I didn't understand what to do and failed, which caused me not to get the best ending.

I downloaded the patch and had no bugs on my playthrough (original 60GB system.)

FYI for those that loved the audition video that was the first thing released for the game, it's an unlockable in the game.
Yes, to all of the above but how the hell can people tell it's the patch? The patch was already up on release day, so it's entirely possible that's how the game shipped. In addition to all the glitches, there's REALLY bad screen tearing at times.
Because people have had the game since before it was patched and had no issues.
Because people have had the game since before it was patched and had no issues.
And people like me got it yesterday and had the patch show up before playing it first or even installing it first and had no problems at all with it.

I played about 5 hours without a single issue after getting the patch, installing and then playing.
Although, I do wonder if it's possible to kill everyone and have no ending. That would be badass lol. I take it back, I might play this game again just to see what happens if you do absolutely nothing at all aside from what's required to advance scenes.
Haven't played much but I would guess
the Oragami killer just gets away...
has everyones trophies been popping? mine have not
You get trophies based on your actions, not just based on making it through a certain amount of the game. Like I earned a good father trophy because of what I did with my son in the game.
has everyones trophies been popping? mine have not
Did you at least get the interactive drama trophy. I believe you get that after the second scene. I'm pretty sure you get all the hidden trophies based on specific actions, although i got one for failing to do something, and I probably would have got one if I succeeded at it.
It was the butterfly challenge. I had a hard time holding down all those buttons while trying to go threw those electric boxes. I'll probably try it again on easy. I'm just glad Ethan didn't die.
has everyones trophies been popping? mine have not
The trophies only pop up during the transition loading screen (when it zooms up on the character's face.) They are also VERY specific based on your actions as others have said.

Not around here, but Blockbuster did show it available for rent on their website actually.

It was actually Blockbuster that was renting it. There was a news post a few pages back about it.

So are there any PS3 CAG's besides myself, FriskyTanuki, and Shipwreck that have beat it yet? It's painful not being able to talk about the game when no one I know has beat it yet. I can't even do spoiler tag stuff because even that might be too much temptation.

Spoilers would definately hurt your enjoyment of this game more than Mass Effect 2 IMO.

Doesn't mean everyone isn't having issues, so the fact that there are more accounts of issues after the patch than before makes it easier to guess where the problem probably lies.

I just lost my fucking game save when I was down to the last trial. It's like the game didn't recognize my save was there, so when it loaded it just overwrote it. I just want to know the god damn ending but now it's all the way back to the beginning. I reaaaaaaaaaally don't feel like playing back through all this shit again, so I might just watch the ending somewhere and say fuck it. This has got to be the absolute buggiest, rushed release I've ever seen on the PS3 and it's really sad because of how long they worked on it.

I don't even know if the ending will be worth it at this point.

Paco has informed me he just beat this game in one 10-hour session. He needs to get a life.

EDIT: As revenge he just IMed me who the Origami Killer is. What a crybaby.

It's really not that hard to do; I would have done it in one sitting as well if not for the whole job thing.

Haha, you got owned.

Just finished the game. I rate it an 8/10. I only have one major complaint with the game and that is
When Jayden believes the Origami Killer is Blake and then like 10 seconds later he realizes that Blake isn't the killer with no explanation
. This is a game/interactive movie where you definitley have to be immersed in it, if you are just casually playing then the game loses alot of the atmosphere because you realize alot of the situations aren't as urgent as the game makes you believe.

I ended up with 45% of the trophies. I guess I'm going to go pick up a few more of the easy trophies and maybe trade it in tomorrow.

The voice acting quality really disturbs me. Some of the characters sound astoundingly awful and when the developer prides themselves on having a quality story-driven experience I have to wonder what went through their head when they cast these actors.
Overall I liked the game but I probably wouldn't buy a sequel. The big reveal was spoiled for me and it still managed to annoy when it happened. The five
challenges
were really well done. Maybe I'll sell it on ebay because I can't see really wanting to go back and play this after spending maybe another week with it.

Just finished the game. Ended with 48% of the trophies.

I really enjoyed it, and there were only a few issues I had with it, but nothing gamebreaking. The worst part was the voice acting, but it was passable. The controls could have used a little more perfecting, and some of the on-screen prompts for button presses could be different. In the heat of the moment, sometimes it was hard to tell what to do with the button.

END OF GAME SPOILER
At the end of the game, Madison ran up to the police to try to convince them that Ethan wasn't the killer, but they weren't listening. There's a small button sequence(I don't like the term QTE for this game) that involves Madison running from the cops and onto her bike.
I screwed up that part and Madison was arrested. Then, after Ethan emerges from the building, he turns around one last time to look at Shaun, then turns back around and gets shot. If I succeeded in the earlier portion with Madison, would Ethan have been alive afterwards?

Also, what was up with the book signing sequel foreshadowing? I thought David Cage said he didn't want to make another one?

ORIGAMI KILLER SPOILER
Oh, and who knew it was Scott Shelby? I pegged him as the killer as soon as Lauren handed him the envelope. He looked at it and said something like "It was typed up on an old typewriter. That's it." and you could see his typewriter next to him on his desk. He brushed it off too easily, and I knew it was him.

Holy shit...what a ride. Liked the ending, not sure if I got the "best ending" that someone had mentioned earlier in this thread. Really glad I decided to stick with it despite the slow start.

Yes, she drives her bike up to the door, goes in, and explains what would happen to them if they go out. Blake calls off the snipers and shooters so they can walk out safely. I'm not sure if whether you decided to be with Madison alters that in any way.
Question about the ending:

What was up with the little tanks on Jayden's desk at the end?
I think that has to do with that butler guy that said something like "don't overdo it, or the consequences could be bad." I think he was talking about Ari, and he used triptocane to counteract the negative effects of Ari.

Well, managed to power through the game up to where I was last night, so hopefully I'll finish this bitch tomorrow. I started searching for a way to skip scenes until input was needed when I realized, that's pretty much skipping the entire game. Sigh, this ending had better be amazing.

I don't think it had to do with ARI because the butler was a part of ARI, I think, since he appeared when Norman was looking through his files in his office. He was warning him about the drug, but I'm not sure if the tanks are unavoidable or not.

This is why I wish there was a database or something like that to help keep track of the things you see/experience and offer a quick reference tool for trying to find out more about certain things.
the voice acting is fine
The problem I have with the voice acting is mostly that you can tell that English is a 2nd language for almost all of the actors. The accents just relentlessly bleed through. I understand that David Cage is French. I realize that. But hearing the actors say "bean" and "origarmi" is terrible. And I think that lends to the acting performances because the phrasing and cadences are just off some of the time. The delivery just sounds unnatural...which is not surprising for someone of a foreign tongue.

I get that Cage wants to employ people from his homeland, but just have the damn game take place in France then. That's like trying to make Grand Theft Auto: South Central with a bunch of white guys impersonating African Americans. It's patronizing. If you like the setting that much, make it authentic. He's insulting our intelligence if he thinks we can't tell.

Having said that, I think the actual gameplay and the way the story is presented is outstanding! There have been very few other games that have pulled me in like this one. Most of the QTE scenes are just as intense as any boss fight, and parts of the story are so atmospheric and genuinely creepy that you forget you're playing a game. I just feel like David Cage could really knock one out of the park if he'd let go of some of his conventions.

Yeah on my game he had blood going down both eyes by the time I figured out how to analyze the clues for him to figure out who the killer was.

I'm guessing that it's affected by how you've done in the ARI up until then, as I just had to inspect the latest clues from the fight with the killer to get the address for the warehouse. It wasn't that hard after I analyzed the watch in the video.

Beat it with 48% of the trophies. Got the best ending possible in my mind. Fantastic, amazing game. Cannot wait to play through it again.

Yeah, I agree about the voice acting. It's not bad across the board but some of the characters sound awkward.

It took me around 10 hours from getting it from the UPS guy to beating it around 1am or so with a meal break thrown in there. I just recently lost my job so being on the job hunt constantly is a bummer which is why I was so happy this game came out when it did! Back when I had a job I totally couldn't have played through the whole game in one sitting.

Anyway, loved it- hit the glitch after playing the game where I can't re-load chapters to go after trophies and see different scenes, so now I'm just waiting for a patch to fix that and I'll be happy. To go with that, after beating it last night, I get two calls today for job interviews.. Like I said, the timing of this game could not have been better. But I do hope they get a patch out soon so I can do the rest of what I wanted to do.

The butler refers to ARI when he says "don't overdo it" because in the final sequence where Jayden has to assemble all the clues, you can die if you spend too much time in ARI. His eyes start to bleed and the environment becomes chaotic until finally, he seizes. You're supposed to think he's referring to the drugs making this an interesting twist.
I'm about an hour and a half in. Does it pick up at all? Boring as hell thus far.
The Prolouge is pretty slow and boring but yes it certainoly does pick up. The choice you have to make later in game are pretty heavy.

yeah me and another guy called all 5-6 of them around us and not one of them were actually renting it locally. That may be at some locations, but not around mid michigan.

Well I was playing with the wife last night. I find it funny that some people quote time into the game. Say 2 hours. That is somewhat irrelevant. Maybe its just me from playing oldschoold adventure games as I grew up and even into more recent years with my wife. But we are checking everything as well play. I even
made my way back to the lift in the mechanics shop to see if I needed to take his wrench he left
. At that point I looked at my wife and said well I am thinking this game is like the old Sierra games where you had to take everything you came across, obviously thats not the case.

Now what pisses me off is I
killed Nathanial, by accident. All the talk was going on and my wife was really into it. She was saying what button I should push, to respond how she thought we should, and we talked him down and he put the gun down... Then I seen a prompt come up as he reached into his pocket and my wife says "R1", so I hit it and boom headshot
Now I dont know whether to go back and replay that part or not. To me the way that worked it was almost intentionally done to cause that to happen "by accident". I noticed that I got
a Blunder trophy
for it however. I am just really curious how that is going to effect the game at a later point.

man this game is all that. it is too intense. that first scene with Madison was crazy. I will honestly admit this is the first game I am actively trying my best not to spoil for myself. I just wanna know who did it. I just hope the end is satisfying to me.

Question about Mad Jack:
is it possible to still arrest him if you don't succumb to taking triptocaine? It was the first time in the game where it didn't really hint that I shouldn't take it, so I assume this is the one time you're supposed to in order to save your life. My guess is you're fucked if you took a trip both times previously and this would be one of those cause/effect moments.

I only ask because I've never taken a trip up to this point, but wanted to know if you can still not take it and survive. I already know you will make the arrest if you take it, but if I can avoid it I'd like to.

Another funny glitch I found:
when Madison is visiting the doc, you have a choice of searching the house and once you have the Blue Lagoon lead, you can either wait around or leave. The glitch is about timing and I just happen to leave at the exact moment I would have been hit in the face with a bat. So as I'm watching the sequence for walking out the door and riding off, the audio sequence is playing for when he comes back and even causes the screen to shake and go blurry lol. I was relieved to find that it does advance her to the club instead of w/e happens otherwise.

You missed a fun scene.
If you had been caught, you get some background info on the doctor and a fun, intense button-sequence scene.
