Okay, bench press topic is the best place to ask:
I've been stuck at 185 x6 for well over a month. How can I break past this plateau? Any tips? Thanks.
You know, I was in the same situation with another muscle group, and I found the best way to do this was just to force the shit out of it.
I.e., on one machine I do, I could put it up to 100, but if I kept on my usual regimen, I never got past it. Like I'd do 6 reps and then I'd stop. This went on for weeks. Solution was to rest a minute and then put it to a higher level - in this case, about 115 - and do that at least 2-3 times, or struggle against it as best I could.
About a week later I was repping the 100 about 10 times. Not great, but it's definitely an improvement.
You'll feel like shit after you do it, but it works. It's that moment after the current max (in my case, the 100) where you're thinking "f*ck, I am done." But just wait a minute and force yourself on the higher weight.
'Course this could be really bad advice, I have no clue. Works for me though.
