Humble Bundle Thread

June monthly:

Superhot- OWN
Ashes of the Singularity
Brigador
Shoppe Keep- OWN
Maize
Plague Inc Evolved- OWN

July - Scholar of the First Sin
I didn't want this bundle to begin with and am sad that I paid for it. Now I'll have to find trades that will justify this piece of trash bundle
And I accidentally clicked the redeem o. Steam button for superhot get so that's reveled now.

Another bundle that doesn't really pique my interest. I've been terrified to un-sub for the 3 or 4 months in fear I would regret it.

Maybe this is the motivation I need to take a break.

Maybe. I never redeemed my Total War:Warhammer key and ended up selling it for more than the bundle cost.

Even at a dollar after selling Stellaris this bundle is pretty meh. At least Brigador looks like something I'll try. Or think about trying while it sits in the backlog.

An okay monthly for me, as only Ashes was a duplicate.

DS2 is a good monthly game. Already have it or I'd probably buy
Well, I think that's the situation in which most of us find ourselves. DS2 is no spring chicken... it's been on sale a lot. It's a solid game, but not as a headliner for an expensive monthly. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but I think most people that really wanted DS2 have had ample opportunity to do so.

Dark Souls II would've been fine as a headliner a year ago, right around the time DS3 was coming out. But yeah, I'd have to think that most people who really wanted it would have it by now. SotFS came out 26 months ago, which I believe makes it the oldest headliner yet.

I like this bundle. A little torn on next month. I love Dark Souls II but I've played it to death. However, I also don't own SotFS on PC, so that's tempting. And the last time I skipped out on a monthly because I didn't need the headliner I ended up filled with so much regret I couldn't leave the bathroom for almost an entire day. The last thing I need right now is a plumbing issue so I guess I'm in for next month.

And is Maize a walking simulator set in corn grass? Someone pinch me cause I must be dreaming!

Kind of tempted by DS2 even though I'd probably just as soon as skip to DS3.  I dunno.  Not impressed by June's non-teaser games nor have I been with the ones from past months.  And I have a feeling since DS2 is a fairly big name that the rest will be underwhelming.

Yikes these unlocks are terrible for me. Shoppe Keep looks kinda interesting but is apparently unfinished and abandoned. Plague Inc and Brigador look like things I wouldn't mind seeing in a $1 or maybe bta tier Indie Bundle. Steam thinks Plague Inc is relevant to me because I played Pool Nation....what? Already had Ashes and Superhot. If you don't own those I guess its pretty good.

Not excited about Dark Souls 2 as the headliner for next month either. There is a reason I don't already own it or the first one. Gilby's avatar pretty much describes me today with regards to Humble.

I really only wanted Stellaris, and anything else was a bonus, but holy cow. Brigador is cool, and I hadn't gotten around to buying it yet, but I already had Superhot, and that's the only other thing in there of note.

I love how all the recent steam reviews of Shoppe Keep (which I thought might be a cool Recettear-type thing) are slamming it because the developers just crapped it out of early access despite still being unfinished, then abandoned it.

I'll get next months, since DS2 is my favorite Souls and I haven't played any of the DLC (and it's been long enough now that I can go back to it) but, to be honest, that's how these bundles have always gone. If you don't want the main game, don't buy it hoping for more.

Huh, I didn't think these unlocks were too bad. Not as good as recent months, but not horrible. The return on selling stellaris makes the bundle more than palatable anyway.

Eh, Dark Souls 2 might be a big name but it's a lower value title. I don't think anyone's paying more than $10 for it at this point, and casuals probably don't pay more than $15. IMO there's a higher chance of good shit being in the July bundle than the June one because the headliner is much lower valued.

despite all the negative Nancys, this month bundle is very good for me.

Most of the games are on my wishlist.  Have been eyeing Plague INC (developer barely let this go on deep discount), Brigador (awesome mechcommander-like game), SuperHot (didn't feel like supporting scammy G2A for their bundle) and Stellaris (tremendous value there).

The rest are just gravy

P.S. I am disappointed with DS2 reveal.  I expect the headliner to be Dark Soul 3 base game at least.

Took the time to look into the games. Considering I already had Superhot and sold Stellaris, I stand by my initial reaction. I'm redeeming Tiny Echo and Brigador. The rest are probably going in the pool.

"I sold the core game so this only cost me a buck" isn't a good defense for the bundle.  It might take the sting out for you but the bundle still sucks and, since Humble presumably isn't building monthlies around you selling the core game, it's still disheartening to see them fill bundles with stuff that's been super-cheap or free elsewhere and low-rated junk.

I only "paid" $5 for that $30 Yogscast bundle but it was still absolute shit from a bundle standpoint.

Sold the junk for $5, and considering I made about $1.50 on my initial purchase transaction, I went ahead and got Dark Souls II for $6. Still $0.50 ahead and got +3.

Yeah sorry, I forgot, Demon's is. DS2 is second favorite.

They seem to have no intention of porting Demon's to any modern platform, though, unfortunately.
Yeah, i really wish Demon's souls would get an hd release.

Still, wut?

DS2 was a really good game but I don't know if i've met anybody who said it was their favorite of ds 1-3

It has fast travel unlocked from the beginning. I would probably like DS3 more if half of it wasn't just nostalgia-fodder retreading.

Gotcha. I think the lack of fast travel works in ds1 due to how the world is designed. The shortcuts mean you can get pretty much anywhere within a minute or two until you get to anor londo, where you unlock fast travel anyway. Ds1 is my favorite probably followed by 3 then 2. The level design in 2 is typically too linear, it had the worst level design in the series (including bloodborne and demon souls). Still a great game though, and the dlc was really fantastic.

It's because it's trapped on the clusterfuck of a console that is the PS3.

I think only wizards at Sony can get the games exclusive to there ported to any other platform and even that's been pretty sparse (Last of Us, God of War, Uncharted).

Bleh.

I'd love to see Demon's Souls + Bloodborne hit the PC.

Damn Sony exclusives.
i can't speak about Bloodborne but Demon's Souls is a disappointment by today's standard. Sure, it was a novel thing back then but now, it's a clunky relic, a poor man's Bloodborne that will bore its players due to its convoluted UI, its archaic gameplay and just piss-poor design (again, I speak this in relation to Bloodborne and the Dark Soul series).

You wouldn't want to play Demon's Soul b/c it won't be fun .. anymore by today's standard and selections

Sorry, but...warts and all - even if modders decide to fix the UI or not and/or anything else - yeah, I still want a PC port of Demon's Souls.  [shrug]

I know, I can dream b/c it's currently a Sony exclusive - but, you never know. [shrug]

LOL, the rose is always prettier when in the neighbor's yard

Just play Dark Soul series, MysterD..

if you ever finish the first one

demon souls is fine. it's clearly somewhat clunkier and technologically limited than its successors but it's nowhere near as bad in terms of holding up today as you say. i played it for the first time in 2014, i think, after playing ds 1 + 2, and it was one of my favorite 2-3 games i played that year. holds up fine and more than worth playing.

I think its got bigger issues than the PS3's unique architecture... Its got 3 publishers, some (all?) of whom might have rights to porting it, or at least having the rights to sell it in their respected regions, so any and all of that could limit the money anyone could make. (And we all know in the end its all about the money.)

Honestly, I think I remember reading that they created Dark Souls instead of continuing with the Demon's Souls series as a way to avoid legality issues with Sony over the name.

I'm sure Bamco would be fine with a port/remaster, making it a PS4 exclusive would probably get Sony on board (provided they get their fair share), which just leaves Atlus and I'm sure SOMETHING could be worked out.

There's not much left on a PS4 exclusive... Remember, Demon's Souls need servers on the backside for many of the MP elements.
