Do you want to learn to use the command line, or do you just want to use the OS, Moxio?

And what distribution are you running?
Both please.

Ubuntu.

Anyone watching the NBA All-Star Game? It's more entertaining than an actual NBA game. Lots of good players and a bit of added style for funnzies.

Well, alright. I'll try to explain some things pertinent to what you mentioned.

When you call "sudo apt-get install package1 package2 ... packageN", you're doing a few things.
First, you're using sudo, which is short for "super user do." Sudo allows you to run things that alter your system; it essentially lets you run a command with root permissions without having to log in as root.
apt-get is part of APT, which stands for Advanced Packaging Tool (thanks, wikipedia!), and it allows you to retrieve and install packages from the repos listed in /etc/apt/sources.list. apt-get is a command line utitlity, but it can be controlled with frontends like the Synaptic Package Manager. Synaptic does pretty much the same thing as apt-get, but graphically. It's the default package manager for Ubuntu, so that's the GUI way to play with your packages.

I'm not sure what's up with the GIMP. Have you tried removing it (using "sudo apt-get remove gimp'spackagename") and reinstalling it?

What happens is that I start the program and I see a little box on the bottom taskbar saying "Loading GIMP" and then after a while it goes away and the program hasn't done shit/started.

Shit.

This new PC I got won't power on... I KNOW it was working as of a few days ago. I just checked the power source, made sure the PSU was on and checked all the connections inside, but still no dice.

This new 300GB external drive is nice though. :]

But he didn't have claws when he was a kid :(..

I just happened to catch that. It wasn't as good as a lot of the other internet spoofs. Surprise.
:(

Sure he did, at least according to the Origin comic they did awhile back. And since it looks like they're following with that arc in the movie since his powers first manifested when his father was murdered.

Eh, they explained his full origins a few years back. He always had bone claws. That was also revealed when he lost the adamantium in the comic.

Still, James doesn't sound as cool as Logan.
Wow Family Guy was quick to jump on the Christian Bale thing.
It was definitely a last minute, meaning half-assed, addition.
Just watched With Out a Paddle:Natures Calling. Why do they make sequels to movies that were not that super great the first time?
Because people like you still watch them.

Agreed. Without a paddle was surprisingly not awful , but definitely not sequel worthy.

I didn't bother watching the direct to video sequel , since DTV = almost always crap.

But this kinda goes against an earlier trailer I saw. They clearly showed him getting his bones fused with adamantium as an adult. And in the first X-Men movie they already established that his claws aren't a part of his mutant powers.
