yea son, mega overrated.

i do like that style of yogurt though. so maybe one of these days, a pinkberry ripoff will be better than the actual thing.

i love the sour pangs of real yogurt...
In SD off Convoy we have a 'redberry' that has good ass yogurt and a knockoff mascot that looks like the ninja girl in the wario ware games lolol!
Yes , windwaker was a very pretty game , too bad so many people couldn't get past the art design. Also , was I the only one that thought the windwaker story was one of the darker zelda stories (second only to Ocarina of Time)?

I think the chance of a (good) windwaker sequel is pretty good. They already did phatom hourglass which seems to show that nintendo may be considering keeping the OoT/WW continuaity seperate from the rest of the games.
I'd prefer playing wind waker over any of the N64 zeldas... no offense but there's 0% fun to be had in the n64 zeldas. 3d zelda is trash to me. wind waker at least looks 2D-ish

I honestly felt WW was one of the more overrated Zelda games. While I had no problem with the artstlye. I did have problem with the sailing, which turns out to be a pretty big problem as it's what you are doing for alot of the game. And I also thought the game could have been alot harder then it was.

Also , was I the only one that thought the windwaker story was one of the darker zelda stories (second only to Ocarina of Time)?
I didn't find the game dark at all...

I kinda enjoyed Windwaker, but I'm haven't really been much of a fan of 3D Zelda games either. I have had Twilight Princess for over a year and still haven't played it yet. I only played thru about half of OoT and only about 10 minutes of Majora's Mask.

Man, played a lot of 4 player MK with friends last night. What a blast. If you liked previous games, I can't imagine not liking this one.

And online...wait for it... is fantastic. It works, plays fastly, is fun, etc. The first real Nintendo online game.

Any GGTers get it?

I think I played somethin like 7 hours of Mario Kart and 7 hours of Soul Nomad this weekend. Awesome time. The wife needs to go to the Pittsburgh IKEA more often.

Is anyone here part of the few, the proud, the owners of Soul Nomad?

We just went to the Cincinnati-area IKEA last weekend. That place is nuts. There's a restaurant in the middle of it because they know you'll be worn down and need some kind of fuel to make it through the bottom level. We did buy some stuff there; the prices are very good.

I officially moved in with the girlfriend this weekend, so no gaming for me. I played a small amount of VF5 last week and I'm not sure if I'm going to make the effort to learn moves and such or not. Recommendations for a beginner character? I was messing with El Blaze just because I like the lucha style.

If I don't get into that, I'll probably crack open Rainbow Six 2 finally.

I don't understand why IKEA is always packed. I live within a block of the one in Michigan, and that parking lot is always full.
Who is always buying furniture?

The closest IKEA is like 3 hours from me. I want to check it out sometime.

El Blaze is horrible for a starting character.

I suggest using either Jack, Sarah, or Vanessa.

I'll play through a Zelda game no matter what. I guess part of that goes with me growing up with the series/playing through each one during release.

But man, the formula is a bit too predictable now lolol.
Is anyone here part of the few, the proud, the owners of Soul Nomad?
I bought it recently; should be arriving on Wednesday. It was on my "to get" list for quite some time.

IKEA also sells some awesome housewares. IKEA is just awesome in general.

I had a friend who worked at IKEA... one day, my other two friends and I all got food there at the restaurant, the full meals, and with his discount it became $5. I don't know that works.

I started The World Ends With You and holy crap I wanna beat the hell out of the main character for being both cliche'd and for acting like a little wiener.

I'll get the N64 version of Majora's Mask because the online is free among other things (more friends on the N64 version for me). :D

I kid.

I got kicked out of my house last week, so naturally I've been playing tons of Playstation at my new residence. My buddy and I have been going crazy on some Capcom vs. SNK 2. Seriously, we've been staying up till the very early morning for the past two weeks playing this damn game. Does anybody know why Morgan is drawn so poorly?

Did we already place bets on Live going down tomorrow?

Had some fun with GT5P and HSG last night.

MGSO Beta patch download takes too long. :p

heh, I may have to take your word for it as trying to download the patches has been hit or miss for me.

Wow, GTAIV tonight. I wonder if I pick it up during the midnight launch, will I end up playing it as soon as I get home, thus fuck ing up the rest of my day/sleep schedule? :/

Its because capcom has been using the same Morrigan sprite since like....I was born. Well, not quite that long but almost.

I think midnight launches are overrated for games.
It fucks up my sleep schedule for work and school, and I dont really get much more time to play the game, since I normally sleep once I get it.

Anyway, I just had my BIG presentation a half hour ago. I didn't feel as nervous as I expected because I practiced a few times and felt more confident. Right now I'm wearing a suit and tie in a computer lab. I'll definitely post a pic on CAG like this because I NEVER wear suit and ties, lol.

Not sure if I will have time for gaming tonight, but will probably play Sega Superstars Tennis if anything.

plus you're surrounded by smelly losers typically. SSBB wasn't so bad because I came late and didn't have to dick around, but I'm waiting until tomorrrow for GTA4.

Who is always buying furniture?
Ha, you live right by my parents then. I've been to that one once when I spent the weekend with them. I can't imagine driving a 3 hour round trip in one day to visit a store, so Pittsburgh is a no for me. It's packed because there's only a handful of them in the country, and other people are more excited about getting decent, cheap furniture than I am.
I bought it recently; should be arriving on Wednesday. It was on my "to get" list for quite some time.
Woohoo, 17,001 people!

By the time we were out of the tournament (not too far from the beginning actually! ;) ), my friends and I were contemplating having a seminar of sorts for the young men there on personal hygiene.

"More people like you if you bathe more than once every fortnight!"

It's basically that they are pretty spread out so people drive from pretty far away too shop at them.

And keep in mind they sell all kinds of cheap picture frames, laundry baskets and various knick knacks so it's not just furniture. Hell I know some people who live close to the local one that go just for the restaurant's super cheap breakfast specials.

In the San Diego area... last big video game Sony console midnight launch was Gran Turismo 3... I was workin that night and it was CRAZY. Like 200+ ppl camping for the game.

The only other ones that have been big in SD since then were Halo 2 and 3...

How bout you guys?

200+ people camping for Gran Turismo 3? WTF.

My husband was considering going to a GTA IV midnight launch thingie, but he's caught a bad cold and is now home sick. He wants to know if I can pick him up a copy tomorrow morning. Probably will; he's been looking forward to it for ages.

This game is one reason why I bought Rondo of Swords and TWEWY last week, as from tomorrow on, it'll be wicked hard for me to get game-time on our consoles when he's around :whee:

Keep in mind that was the first big game for the PS2. People were probably pretty sick of the launch titles and post-launch shovel ware by the time GT3 launched.

So this guy that messed up my life pretty badly a couple of years ago is in the hospital dying because he needs a new colon.

Karma, its real i tell you.

midnight releases are crap, but it's nice to have if you are really looking forward to a game.

I wish they did midnight releases for Tekken games, but sadly we don't :(

Yeah, if I had to drive or had to wait outside with the normies, I wouldn't go. My local GS is 2 minutes from my house and I will have an excuse to get a Slurpee.

Good point, though I didn't think there was that much enthusiasm over Gran Turismo. Maybe because it was truly a one of a kind game back then... Forza wasn't around until about 2005.

Tangent: My first PS2 was a GT3 Racing Pack. The PS2 eventually broke, but I still have that copy of GT3... haven't played it for years (literally). The license tests in that game drove me nuts.

I totally forgot why I hated GT games and now you helped me remember. other than that GT could be fun.
I totally forgot why I hated GT games and now you helped me remember. other than that GT could be fun.
the fact that you couldn't just import from the previous game a save file to say "Yes, I'm not a complete moron, I know how to drive" is insanity.

The tests were fun as a pass the controller all night party game when we first got it. When 2 came out I really didn't want to deal with it again.

I feel like this right now waiting for GTAIV:

Yeah, it was pretty huge. GT1 and GT2 sold very well on the PSX, so they had a large fan base built up.

Those were the only good racing sims back in the day really.

I appreciate the realism they put into every part of the game (and the series), but the driving tests required some ridiculous perfectionism. Nowadays I'd just rather play Mario Kart.

well, I'm going to EB now to get my receipt for tonight for pick-up so I can be in and out. I have it fully paid off but I just want to get this part outa the way.
