My wife really wants to go on one of those disney cruises once the kids get a bit older. All of my friends say that it is great.
Disney cruises are the best I've ever been on. The kids have thier own clubs that you sign them in to. We'd go back every 2 hours to check on them and they would plead if they could stay. If it wasn't for the fact that we wanted to hang with them, we'd never seem them from morning till night.

Cruises are really the only vacations my family go on, except for the weekend trips to the shore.
Took the middle child to get a referral for an autism evaluation. She's no where near as autistic as her brother, but isn't quite normal either.
Broader autistic phenotype probably. Autism has a large genetic component so it wouldn't be unusual for a sibling to have autistic like symptoms.
I'd rather go on a Werner Herzog cruise. Now that would be interesting.
I don't get it.

Sean,

Now that you've had the Nokia Windows 8 phone for a while, how is it holding up? Battery Life? Apps? What are your thoughts, gripes, etc.

I'm still in the market.

It's more this. I also have a cousin who's autistic/weird. (Is an air traffic controller now). And according to my mom several of her cousins had "problems". Information she neglected to tell me until after the first child was diagnosed.

I think we tried going GF/CF for a week or two a few years ago but in a crazy period. Too difficult, and too meaningless. None of the kids seem to have dietary problems that would suggest any sort of gluten sensitivity. The eat anything. They poop daily.

Speaking of cruises, the noro-virus (GII.4 Sydney strain) is going around the school and I really, really don't want that shit(s). I talked to two parents that said it took them each a week to get over it.

Rian Johnson (Writer/Director of Looper, Brick, Brothers Bloom and director of a # of Breaking Bad ep's) did an interesting Smodcast (#239) with Kevin Smith, and if you skip the first few minutes of their self-fellations and waxing rhetorical about their struggles/influences with religion/agnosticism it's fairly interesting- especially in regards to Looper, Brick and general love of cinema.

There is an embedded player here, if you don't want to DL it.

I think my daughter has it...She complained of stomach pains and yakked twice yesterday. This morning she woke up crampy and could not walk.

Honestly, I sold it and went back to iOS. Too many shortcomings, I mean it STILL doesn't have Spotify!

I am not autistic so I haven't looked into what corollary there is between autism and a gf diet. sounds like they're happy so I wouldn't change unless the doctor said to. it is pretty inconvenient/expensive/blah.

picked up gf bread from a downtown whole foods store. it's made with tapioca starch. never mind the texture and vat it's completely tasteless, I could beat people over the head with it, it's so. heavy.

what's crazy is what uses gluten and what doesn't. peppermint patties? the original round ones? fine. the heart-shaped ones? they have gluten.

Cyric got us a bunch of apps and checks restaurants before we go somewhere. his first concern though? movie theater popcorn. depending on the chain you'll get different answers. some which are more aware will warn that because the corn travels on trucks that also carry wheat or rye or barley, gluten-intolerant people should be careful bc of the cross-contamination threat.

dt887 and munch... I'm assuming those are made up names? :p

it's the name he always uses in his games and online junk, so I use that on here. there's no reason to use his real name on cag.

more tests and biopsies this morning. wish me well.

Good Luck! Stay positive!!!

trying to but I hate my specialist and will be changing after today. she misdiagnosed me once.

and she can't be bothered with my questions. when I was talking about the aluminum in deodorants she looked down at me and asked, 'are you eating them???!!!' I was like, are you stupid? you absorb through the pores in your skin!! argh.

What a month it's been at work.

Week 1: Someone decides to vomit inside a cart filled with pet food while it's still in the stock room.

Week 2: I requested a day off from work. I am approved for the day and "rewarded" with a 10 day work schedule working 6 hours a day (aka no extra hours/money) doing someone else's work. They say it's a mistake in the system (even though a similar incident happened before) and the schedule is fixed.

Week 3: An employee who has been there for 3 years is fired. Word is more long time employees are being "phased out" while managers are rumored to be leaving next.

Week 4: Someone decides to call the store with a bomb threat. The place is evacuated, searched by police, and nothing is found.

Can't wait to see what happens during "love month".

But I really hate how the Spotify app flips the album art after each song even if you are listening to an album. Drives me batty! I wish they'd change that.

that freaking hurt. she hit a blood vessel and hit my wind pipe twice. planned on going to work but called out. hope I feel better for rifftrax tonight.

And off to work. Should put down Mr Freeze in Batman tonight.
Don't know why some of the side missions aren't progressing. Have saved two riddler hostages so far, but Deadshot hasn't made another appearance.

I normally couldn't care less about something like the Puppy Bowl, but I really want another mini pin and Agatha is a nice looking puppy. I might have to watch a little bit of it.

For the past couple weeks my cable box had been acting a little funny. I just assumed it was old. I couldn't delete a couple recordings. Some things I set for the DVr wouldn't record.

Well, I can tell that my DVR just had a major update. And while cosmetically nothing major on screen has really changed, I can tell a lot under the hood did. For example, i suddeny have 20% more dvr space. When I change channels without usiong the guide it'll list the station channel. It didn't do that before. The box is more responsive. Just a bunch of little things.

any ideas if the super bowl will be worth watching? I just read an email about a new Lone Ranger movie which will have an ad during the game, so I'm tempted to go to a restaurant to watch it. but not if the game will be a blow out and not worth watching.

Sooo .. 2/20 = Playstation 4 announcement?

Got an email from Sony saying on 2.20.13 'Be the first to know' and I know there's a press conference scheduled for that day.
Niners! Can't wait.

It has all the makings for a good Super Bowl...Brother vs. Brother, Ray Lewis last game, Kaepernick vs. Flacco.

Wing Bowl 21 is going on now in Philly...Strippers and a Wing eating contest.

Is there anything better on a Friday in the 2-1-5?

"Social features and the user experience will be two of the key focuses of the new console over raw hardware power"

Ughhh *sigh*

Guess what kids?! Remember how you loved the beautiful graphics of Killzone and Uncharted? Well forget about that nonsense! We have something even better! Now you'll be able to Tweet your high scores or post them on Facebook! Ever wanted to connect your trophies to Pinterest? Well you'll be able to do that with the PS4!

Yup...enough hardware power to push Farmville and Angry Birds.

It wouldn't surprise me to see them concede a large-part of the core gamer market (namely hardware intensive IPs like FPSs) and produce a device that is more of a 4K oriented google TV box, with a 4 layer blu support, a la carte channels, primarily driven by it's own proprietary media digital distribution program (analogous to itunes) but still with the physical media option (especially with 4K on the horizon). Gaming then becomes a tertiary focus but still a core component with a gameplay and quality IP focus over graphics.

From a big picture standpoint it would suck for console gamers but might make sense for them if they could be the cheaper alternative (like the Wii was, but unlike the Wii embrace the next generation of TV resolutions) and gain more market share & faster then continue to make more $ on the mixed-media title distributions.

IDK, fun to speculate though. I like to see it push Durango to be more than the 360 was/is.

How old is the average gamer now (mid-thirties last I read) maybe it's a graying of the market strategy, following a consumer #s bubble. So it might need to be a device that would be suited for someone in their 40s during it's lifespan.

I think they need to figure out how to price the thing at $199. Otherwise it's not happening for me. Plus we only got a PS3 at xmas and both of our TVs are 720p (though I would like to get a better/bigger TV sometime this year... if we can afford it).

Yup. This doesn't surprise me at all. Social Media is huge right now. You can already have the PSN Store post every purchase you make on Facebook. (And maybe tweet too). I think some games might already let you share your leaderboard score to facebook.

And Sony or Microsoft would love for their consoles to be front and center in that. They'd probably rather make their money in microtransactions.

Then again, the PS3 was supposed to be a full-fledged entertainment center. "Use it as a blue-ray player! Stream music from your Sony PC! Watch TV on Netflix and Hulu!" That strategy actually if they had locked it down. and made it exclusive. Now you can get several TVs or blu-ray players internet ready and have netflix/hulu/etc pre-loaded.

You arent the target demo. From what I have read, that quadruple is actually more powerful than the double circle.

Escape From New York is awesome. Have you seen Dredd yet? Very 80s actiony feeling. Reminds me of an Escape from NY type movie in a way.

I LOVE escape from Ny. big trouble is okay too. who was playing it last night?

rather unsuccessful in farming the warrior. so far the best he's dropped is a homing electric leech. it's level fifty but the numbers are stupid low. is there any redemptive feature about this where I would want to keep it?

Anyone else hate Girls? People seem to love that show, and I just don't get it. I watched the first two episodes and thought it was fucking terrible. Who wants to watch a show about a bunch of entitled brats? I don't mind a show with lead characters that are heavily flawed, but there has to be something redeeming in them. I guess that is some of these same problem I have with Mad Men (two seasons in and I have no opinion or feeling for Don Draper).
