Since Ibotta has been regularly having Best Buy and Microsoftstore.com offers I've restructured this thread a bit. I have also added an FAQ below.

Current "CAG Friendly" offers:

- Best Buy (in store and/or online):

$5 for spending $100 (can be multiple purchases)* - Expires "02/10/15 at 12:59 am",

*On occasion some users get different offers so it may vary - you won't know until you open the app.

- MicrosoftStore.com (online only):

$10 for spending $100 (can be multiple purchases) - Expires but has been ongoing regularly

- New users can also get a $2 bonus (read below).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ibotta is basically an instant rebate app for smart phones that allows you to get money back for certain items (typically grocery). The money can be deposited into your paypal or used for some gift cards.  It is an app actually worth checking out anyway but these deals are certainly bound to speak to some CAG folk.

You can download the app through their site (or read below if you'd like to thank me for sharing this offer with you): https://ibotta.com/. There is no bonus to using my referral link in my signature but if you'd like to as a thank you for posting this I certainly won't argue - your rebate will go through all the same but yes, I get a bonus too.  To do so correctly make sure to register at the below link and then sign in with those same credentials once you install the app.

New Ibotta user you can earn an additional $2 bonus for redeeming your first offer. Simply redeem your first offer (this offer or any other) within 10 days of signing up. Once you redeem your first offer (again, you must do so within 10 days of signing up not just installing the app) you will get a bonus $2 welcome reward.

General Ibotta FAQ

Q: How do I unlock a rebate?

A: Each rebate has a couple of task that must be completed before it is "unlocked" and you can redeem it. Most of these task consist of a poll or "learning a fact" but on occasion they include posting to Twitter or Facebook.

Q: How long can I submit a receipt?

A: Receipts can be submitted for up to one week from the purchase date. I.e. a receipt from the 1st can be submitted up through the 7th. Offers do expire though, and an offer may expire before a week's time preventing you from submitting it.

Q: How do I complete an online offer such as BestBuy.com?

A: Once you've competed the "task" to unlock the offer there will be an option to click a button to "shop." You will then have the option to send yourself a referral link to use later or to shop directly from within an in-app browser. Online purchases tend to show up in your account in 2-3 days.

Q: I bought something three days ago and a new rebate has been added for that same item! Can I still submit my receipt?
A: Yes, you can submit any receipt less than a week old, even if the offer didn't exist when you originally purchased the item. For example, if you spent $100 at Best Buy on the 1st and an offer for $10 back when you spend $100 was added on the 3rd, you could submit the receipt from the 1st.

Q: How long do rebates take?

A: They can vary a bit, and receipt photos that are hard to read seem to take longer (most likely are manually reviewed) but often times rebates post to your account within an hour.

Q: How can I get the money I've earned?

A: Once you've reached a minimum of $10 you can "cash out" a number of ways including sending the cash directly to your Paypal or even gift cards such as Best Buy and Starbucks (among others).

Q: How come some people have a $10 for spending $100 and others have $5 for $100 or $20 for $100? Why don't I have the same offer as someone else?

A: Ibotta does seem to periodically offer different offers to different users. This appears to be from a combination of different reasons, everything from geographical location, how long you'e been a user or even if you redeemed a previous offer for the same store.

Q: If I pay with a gift card will it still count? Can I use other coupons and still qualify for an Ibotta rebate?

A: Ibotta really doesn't care about the form of payment or other coupons used (with one exception). So long as you bought the item and it is on your receipt it will qualify. It is possible to buy a grocery item that is on sale for $2, use a $1 off coupon and get $1.50 back in Ibotta rebate. The exception to this is the "Spend $$$ to get $$$" offers. Since the final total paid is what matters. If you lower the total with coupons/sales/reward certificates (for Best Buy) will result in less money being counted as "spent."

Q: How do "Team Bonuses" work?

A: Teams are fairly new and still a little unclear but the primary way they work is that everyone you invite to Ibotta and joins through your link winds up on your "team." Once your team has received a certain dollar amount in rebates and you've also redeemed a certain amount you qualify for a bonus. For example, a hypothetical Team Bonus might require that your team redeems $20 in rebates total and you redeem $10 in rebates personally. Once both conditions are met you'll receive the bonus for that month. This will typically unlock a "level 2" where you can gain another bonus when the next levels are met. So far there have not been more than 3 "levels" of Team Bonuses.  It may be possible to add others to your team through Facebook.

Q: Can multiple accounts on different devices send to the same Paypal account?

A: Short answer, yes. Ibotta does appear to have realized that some households may have multiple phones but maybe only one Paypal account so you could, for example, have yourself and your spouse both cash out to the same Paypal. Having more than one account per person is almost certainly against the terms however so do so at your own risk.

anyone know if amazon cards work? i was thinking of picking up watch dogs and killzone and buying a 25 amazon gift card to push it over 100..any ideas? the offer says excludes giftcards but just making sure :p..

Why they don't just add store pickup is stupid IMO.
It's likely because the point of this is knowing that if they get people into the store for this they then have to walk around and there's a chance they'll either buy more than the would have otherwise or will come back to do so. People that do in-store pickup mostly just buy what they intended, pick it up and leave.

ymmv but last 3 times I've done it, it worked.

That, and the fact that the store pick up receipts don't have as much information as the regular ones do so probably requires an actual person to verify.

I'm hoping with their recent upgrade to include online shopping as well that they add some BestBuy.com stuff soon.

Just a YMMV update on store pickup. I submitted my watch dogs store pickup receipt. They accepted it for the within an hour or so. It had the total, and the date on the receipt (i had to submit to panels two get both the date and the total on the submission), but it worked just fine.

No, you can not use the same receipt to redeem two offers.
I used one receipt for two offers I think. I had two $5 offers when I submitted my ps4 receipt and got them both.

Though I want to say it combined them both to one $10 offer, *short term memory loss

I submitted my store pickup receipt from Wolfenstein and AMZ Spider-Man 2 and they were both accepted. I just folded the receipt on the bottom to show the date and to make it fit on the picture.

I just got $12 back thanks OP. Anybody use this Venmo thing, it says you get an additional $5 for using it the first time. Is it legit and secure to use with back info.

Some people tried it during the last promo, can't remember all the details but seemed to work for them. Searching the thread might pull up their post.

Just wanted to update to this that I was also able to use one receipt to claim two offers one for $5 back on $50 and the other for $10 back on $100.Just submitted it about 30 minutes ago and it went through already

Interesting that it worked but feel the need to throw a YMMV warning on that, plus also you have to be fully aware this may result in a ban.

That would suck. I was looking through the terms to see if it said anything against it I would hope they would give a warning to let you know it wasn't allowed before just banning you. I submitted them both together so I'm hoping if it was something that wasn't allowed they could have easily seen it.

If/When they suspend an account what they do is just lock you out. I'd recommend cashing out regularly if you haven't already and plan to continue using it over the next month.

I'll definetly be watching out to see if they do suspend it. The only time I really use it is when best buy has offers like these so I guess I'll find out next time one come around if I can participate or not.

So I just signed up, how long does it take for them to get your rewards to you? If it's a quick process I'm in. If it's one of those wait 3-4 weeks and you'll get a paypal e-check, meh

Well, I just attempted sending another in-store pickup receipt (Mario Kart 8) to Ibotta and they have rejected it.  They accepted my previous in-store receipt for Watch Dogs...Anyone have this happen to them as well?  I'm fine if they are not going to accept the in-store pickup receipts, I just cannot stand the inconsistency.

Any tips on getting it to recognize the "In Store Pickup" Receipts. It keeps saying "there is no date", but I put the date is clearly on the bottom of the receipt!

Considering only two people have reported any success using an in store pick up the odds are it was a fluke that those cases were selected rather than the norm.

my Watch Dogs store pickup receipt got accepted Friday night.  I think you just have to fold the receipt so that the date shows on the bottom.

My 'in store pickup' got accepted Wed afternoon. I folded the receipt behind in half like everyone said where you can capture the top part of the receipt with the date in one image.

I submitted a In-Store pickup receipt and it was accepted. What I did was I captured all parts of the receipt by taking a pic of the top part and the bottom parts. The app allows you take multiple pics when submitting.

Yeah I finally got it accepted about a hour after I made that post. Which was hilarious since I scanned in a regular receipt with it and that got rejected instead for the same reason. Heh.

Was able to get in on this on Friday. Surprised how easy it was. Got MLB 14 and the GCU.
Everyone seems surprised at how easy it is. I had a co-worker who told me they bought a TV this weekend. I asked if she had a receipt, I signed her up on the app right then, submitted the receipt, went to the bathroom, came back and she was like, "I already got the $10!"

I tried to submit some receipts from store pickups and it kept getting rejected. Any tips?

I tried folding it as suggested earlier in the thread and they said my receipt was tampered with and deactivated my account... Might be better to take the two pictures like someone else suggested.

Edit: This was for an in-store pickup receipt.

Offer ends tonight as far as I know (they extended the offer a couple times last time they did this but I can't see the offer anymore so I can't tell).

I don't see the option for the $20 for $200, only the $10 for $100. Did the other one expire?
The offers vary for each person. Some had two offers but every ibotta user has/had at least one. Mine was only $10 for $100. Some got $5/$50 or $20/200.
litepink is correct. The offers vary from account to account. I personally had a $10 for $100 and $5 for $50.

I've never had one work, some have, at least one has reported that they were banned for trying to make it work.

Does this work with bestbuy.com purchases or only in store?
Just wanted to clarify I made purchases this week that were shipped to me, not picked up in store. I see that doesn't work though I don't see why they wouldn't accept those.

I got an extra 1$ for completing the June Teamwork promo. Guess you can invite friends and earn more. You have to redeem a $10 rebate in June.

I submitted and got it approved almost instantly. Another $11 from this app. Thanks CAG for the heads up and BudzMcgee? I think i saw the app because of you

Updated the OP for the offer being back. Remember, you can redeem any receipt within a week of the purchase so if you made a purchase any time since last Tuesday you can redeem it.

Sweet! Thanks for the heads up. If I remember correctly I made two purchases last week, one Tuesday and one Wednesday. Unfortunately Wednesday's purchase didn't cross the $50 mark but Tuesday's did, so I'm gonna look into how to submit this tonight.
