You're all weird.

And I'm listening to Chris Avellone talk about things.

EDIT: The interviewers are kind of lame, though. No shit Van Buren looked more like Fallout 2 than 3. Jesus Christ, dude.

EDIT2: Dude seems really unhappy about Alpha Protocol. I like the game, but I can't blame him. Seems like he's really fighting the urge to throw his predecessor on the project under the bus.

EDIT3: Did you just ask him how he got involved with Project Eternity? The game being made by the company he has worked for since its inception? God dammit, podcast-dude!

Dissida is...nope.

I still haven't finished Crisis core.

And here I am with KH 1.5 HD Remix preordered.  At least there's a BR of all the cutscenes from that tiresome Birth to Sleep....

Uh yeah whatever.  They're all godawful boring to me so they all put me to sleep, like literally.  But I like Disney and I like Square so I'm giving this series one last chance.

I really wish games like dissidia and project x zone had good plots, but what can you do with so many characters?

Same here. I started on Hard, like a casual(ty), and it was so frustrating to the point of being unplayable. Hard is definitely new game+.

Dissidia has a good plot. They make for a legit reason to have all the characters be in the same world and then threw in time loops.

Did you just not get it?

Coming from someone who likes the KH games, I'm going to have to tell you to stop making mistakes.

Having these games in HD isn't going to help.

I finished Tales of Grace f over the weekend. I'll start Xillia this weekend. Now I'm playing Muramasa Rebirth on the Vita. I'm finished Momohime story but I got to go back and forge some swords, beat some Caves of Evil and try to get all of her endings. Right now I'm playing Kisuke story.

I beat Xillia the other night. I think i still prefer many aspects of TOG over Xillia, but the story in Xillia is pretty good. I am about to start NG+ and do a quick speed run to mop up some of the trophies.

There's a BluRay of cutscenes from that DS game Erad mentioned, so I am ok with it. In fact, BestBuy just sent me a shipping notification...I was expecting them to send it closer to the "official" game launch, but I'm guessing it isn't a hard street date for this one, especially since there's a launch event on Sunday at Disneyland.

Picked up Barkley Gaiden again now that I'm back home. Got the Snail Zauber (don't remember doing that sidequest during my first playthrough), the Holy Dunk, and the Nikes, amongst other things, and am about to pay another visit to the church.

So what the hell is Barkley 2? I saw a video of it (I think?) and it's a top down shooter now?

Seems not as fun.
Going by the demo I played at PAX, it's got a lot of dwarves.

I asked one of the guys on the team about a party system, and he said they aren't sure if it's going to have one. Either way, it's telling that they're probably still tweaking gameplay since pretty much all I did in the demo was walk around and talk to people (well, dwarves).

Gaiz.

Hey, gaiz. We are getting Trails in the Sky: Second Chapter sometime next year.

We are also getting the first one on the PC.

Gaiz, please understand. This is teh beastestest.

Boy the camera is crap in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. (3D's! ) So many off screen attack and moving the camera around with the shoulder buttons is a pain.

Started Two Worlds II (I hate that title) last night.

Has to be the ugliest game I've played in a while. The protagonist is just a monotone dude with no personality what so over. "I'm on it." "I'll do it."

Hey hero, your sister is going to unleash a fire demon to destroy the world and die in the process! Your response?

"How can we stop this from happening."

I only played $5 for it, but i think playing it for about 90 minutes last night was enough.

I like the twist that you're working with Orcs to fight humans, though.

Trails is a game that flew totally under my radar. I'm looking forward to giving it a shot.

Drop down shooter? I am in.

Atlus has been pumping out games like crazy recently, just now Stella Dues The Gate of Eternity for PSN, AquaPazza, Etrian Odyssey ,SMTIV list goes on.

I'm tempted to try Etrian Odyssey IV. I wouldn't normally even consider playing a rogue-like, but I hear that one has an easier difficulty setting. I like that.

I still haven't played my copy of the first game on PSP. In fact, it was one of the games I didn't even crack the plastic on when I "re-discovered" my PSP and realized how many games I actually had for that system....I really hope they consider making a Vita port. I don't think I would play that game on PC. I expect a lot more out of games when they are on PC and I don't think they're going to really take advantage of what a PC environment has to offer...

The Etrian Odyssey games aren't roguelikes, or even roguelike-likes-- they're hardcore dungeon crawlers (except for IV, which is just a dungeon crawler).

EO4 is excellent, but I also found combat to be more boring thanks to the lessened difficulty; I played on "Normal", as usual, and it was noticably easier than the other games in the series.

Falcom's traditionally been one of the biggest Japanese PC game developer/publishers that doesn't focus on visual novels, so I'm always happy when their PC games get localized here, as that platform is the best way to play their games (particularly the recent ones). I was also dismayed when Ys Seven debuted on a system other than PC, which had been a rarity for both the series and the developer.

Is one of those the new one that's coming to PS3 and Vita and involves school activities?

I like school activities in my video games.

Ugliest game? Have you only been playing dem Triple As on PC lately? There's a hell of a lot more color to it than most games and I really dug the aesthetic but I do think the blur is a little extreme and off-putting. You can turn off a lot of stuff using the console though (even on PS3).

The MC is pretty lame though. Dude sounds like Geralt, but not in a good way.

I regret buying Two Worlds 2 and I only paid 7 bucks for it. The game is garbage.

Nice to see Trails in the Sky coming to PC.

I thought rogue-likes were dungeon crawlers. EO has no randomized dungeons then? Either way, if it's way easier, then I like.

I'm always confused by Japanese PC games. It's like they are stuck programming in the 90s with little desire to innovate. I was glad to see Ys and others on handheld because they seem to work pretty well for them. It looks like they are again hanging back on the tech since it's still just PC and PSP for TITS.

TWO WORLDS 2 IS TEH AWESOME. A pleasant surprise for me. It's actually pretty fun to upgrade your weapons into glowy sticks of death and the main character's VO is hilariously droll.

Nope, no random dungeons. Just the opposite, actually: each dungeon floor is very meticulously designed.

I've always thought that the core features of roguelikes/likes are random dungeons and constantly dying and having to start over again, and the EO games have neither. Also, to me at least, roguelikes are just one specific type of dungeon crawler.

I didnt notice much blur, the character models are horribly ugly and immobile. During the cutscenes they just stand there with only their forearms and hands briefly flailing to express emotion. (Their upper arms or shoulders never move at all)

The MC is supposed to come off as sarcastic and world-weary but instead he just sounds like a bored slacker.

"Oh, you guys are Orcs? Thought you were wiped out. Whatever." "Hey, I just learned to make a spell. That's cool, I guess. Eh."

Reading a bit more about the Trails in the Sky news earlier today, I thought one of the most interesting aspects about it is that Carpe Fulgur is working with XSEED on SC. Yayifications!

It also seems like they played a part in getting Ys: The Oath in Felghana on Steam, and are making another smaller announcement soon.

Glad to hear TitS is getting localized/finished.  Still haven't played on PSP.  Is there anything that would "carry over" or transfers between them, or would it be ok to play part 1 on PSP then pick up part 2 when it's released?

I've also never been able to get into Ys.  I have a few between the PS2 and PSP, and they just don't click with me for some reason.  I can't tell what kind of game they're trying to be (hack n slash, ARPG, dungeon crawler, traditional JRPG?), and the graphics tend to be not so great.  Maybe I just need to give them another shot, as I've never given any of them more than a couple hours of time...

Finishing up Muramasa Rebirth. I'm done with both characters stories but I don't know if I want to go through all the endings. I don't think I can platinum it since 1 trophy you have to bet the game in 3 hours. I'll just get as many as I can. Then I'll start Tales of Xillia.

Well, shit.

They're all those things!

I once heard the Ys games described as being Zelda-esque, which both does and doesn't quite fit, but might be the best way to describe them to someone who hasn't played them before.

I did.

Chick is hella kray.

I was like "Vow? Shit gurl you gonna try n put a vow on my luv?"

Then I walked outside and saw that there were way too many people to talk to, so I stopped playing.

Finished off Xillia this weekend. I did almost all of the sidequests without a guide except I did look up the location of the last devil beast I couldn't find, and a couple of the jewls I was missing to fight the optional boss. I have a feeling that particular boss is gonna come back in the sequel.

I started up Nier last night, but I have not made up my mind about it yet.

I might pick up Kingdom Hearts HD. Still undecided. The only KH game I have played is the GBA one, amd that didn't impress me. Might get it if Nier dissapoints.

I just started Xillia yesterday. I'm enjoying it so far but I prefer Grace better. I like Graces characters and battle system more. The only thing I don't miss about Grace is the damn eleth mixer. I'm on the fence about Kingdom Hearts HD. I don't know if I want to pre-order it now or just wait until it gets cheaper. I got too many RPGs in the backlog as is.
