I'm bored, let's talk fighters.

If anyone wants to watch some badass combo vids, MrWhiteFolks is a legend at this shit.

http://www.pimp-productions.com/videos/index.php

He only has a few up now (one is a wicked KoF: Max Impact video) but he rotates the videos every so often.

It's too bad he dosen't have the server space for all of his videos, as he's done some crazy shit that he's showed me.... one of my favorites is his combo vid for Gal Fighters for Neo Geo Pocket Color.

Some of you might remember him from his GTA 3 exploit video a long time ago that got a shit ton of coverage.
And they already said they won't make any 2D fighters, so I guess you should become SNK fans now.
meh, I'll stick with Sammy. Even if they only make 1 game over and over

the only 2d fighter I've ever played to death from capcom has been SFA3... so if they keep making remakes of that game... that's the only remake series I will probably collect... sadly...
Just got Street Fighter EX3.

I think we should all post when we get a new fighter.
Ugh, that game was horrible.

Got it for $5 from last year's CC thread, traded it in for more than that, that was the only bright point of that game.

ex3 sucked major monkey balls. the controls were sometimes unresposive, adn the only thing new in this game is the tag system. they should've at least brought back the older characters from previous ex games to make it worthwhile (sadly, allen snider will never be seen again)

I never tried it before. I'll try it out tonight hopefully. I know the Ex series is where I got the Guile art in my avatar though. :)

yeah... the only two highlights of the EX series was the character art (the character desing was so so) and the insane amoutn of pain the game gave you when working on perfecting one of the insane combos in the combo mode (which usually unlocked something). the only EX one I have ever owned and played was EX2... some supers were damn cool (skullomania i think his name was? he had some badass supers). some characters were just too far out for the SF universe (and that's pretty far out already). I still can't stand the character that had elvis hair of black and white, a multi zebra like body suite, and some interesting moves... fun, but different if you want a slight change in SF play.

anyone genna pick up Onimosh Blad Warriors this sunday? I know it's not a typical fight (more in the veign of Power Stone and Smash Bros), but anyone here have insight if it's any good? i'm genna give it a swing.

Can't be that bad for 9.99, with a $5 dollar Pricegrabber rebate.

IGN claims it has tons of replay value and lots of items to unlock - I'm down for that.

$9.96 for KOF 2002/2003 for PS2.

Great price, but I am going to wait for the Live enabled Xbox version.
It's been talked about in the thread before... it's not 2002 / 2003 that's on sale, they have the wrong picture and the wrong information.

The SKU and old price (29.99) matches up perfectly with KoF: Maximum Impact, which IS the one that's on sale. I don't think CC ever received KoF 2002 / 2003 for sale to begin with.

I just came back from CC and actually grabbed Maximum Impact, so I can confirm that's the one on sale.

Oops! Thanks for clearing that up.

Show more love for Capcom Vs. SNK 2.. that's the game that got me back into fighting games. I love the wide range of characters and the grooves. My girlfriends brother and I play every once in a while for an hour or two.. good times. I love running and evading in S-Groove.

I wish I could have gotten into the flying capcom games like X-Men Vs. Street Fighter and Marvel Vs. Capcom. I saw a copy at gamestop two months back.. should have picked it up, but I didn't have money. I'll be sure that I never let it slip away if I have another chance at it.
Last Blade 2.

Play it-- as it basically ends all 2d fighting supremacy questions right then and there.
LB2 is decent, but not really anything special. Blade Warriors was worth $50, it's a steal for $5. I played it nonstop when I got it (shortly after release) for like 2 weeks. I think I still have some weapons to unlock.

I just purchased Samurai Deeper Kyo for PS1. I can't play it untl I get back to the states. Does anyone know how it is?

For a side note I picked up Samurai Showdown 4 Sega Saturn for 180 yen (that's about $1.50.) What a steal!!!

Agreed,
LB2 is always overlooked by Sam Show. LB2 is cut and dry SKILL fighter. You know back when people had to have umm I dunno TIMING and STRATEGY?! :D It was all downhill when they broke out the custom-combo in the Alpha series.

Didn't see it mentioned here -

EB and Gamestop both list Samurai Shodown 5 and KoF 94: Rebout at 29.99 for Xbox when they release in October and November. KoF Neowave is 39.99, though.

Don't know about any of you, but 29.99 is a damn good price - good to see SNK is finally starting to wise up when it comes to prices.

$30 is good. I wish they'd give us a Neo Geo pad like the one for PS2 in Japan though. Capcom need to get off their ass and make an Alpha collection, SNK should do the same with Samurai Shodown. I also think they should release Metal Slug 1 and 2 in a 2 pack like 4 and 5 on xbox, so we can have the whole set. Now THAT would be kickass.

They are releasing Metal Slug 1 for GBA sometime in November... not quite the same thing, but still pretty cool regardless.

Capcom will get around to making an alpha collection eventually - they love to whore out the Street Fighter name. Look at that Capcom Collection... THREE different versions of Street Fighter 2, and this is coming after SF: Anniversary Collection. I'm actually surprised Alpha 2 or 3 wasn't on the anniversary collection.

And a looooong time ago Ben Herman (president of SNK US) mentioned that they wanted to do collections of older games. Not sure what happened to this idea, though, I've never seen it mentioned since.

Don't like GBA games. They cost too much and rarely go down in price (MS Advance is still $30). I kinda wish they packaged KoF '94 with some other game. Seems only fair since that did that with '00/'01 and '02/'03.
Good deal on SS4. Any chance on getting me one?
I wouldn't mind but I got the last one, I'll keep an eye out if I find any more.

Today I picked up about 15 Sega Saturn games, 3 PS1 games, A Neo Geo Pocket, 2 Brand New SNES games, a couple Mangas and a Stratagy guide for about $100. I highly recomend going to Japan, it's a CAGs dream!!!

If you seen any deals on a Japanese Saturn (I need one but shipping from Japan kills any deal. Like one for $20 or under.), or some 2D fighters hook me up. I have X-Men vs Street Fighter for Saturn though so don't get that. I'd like any king of fighters games for saturn, marvel super heroes vs streetfighter (preferably the box version w/ the 4MB cart), samurai shodown games, etc. Thanks in advance.

A long time ago there was a picture floating around of Ken's Stage of Street Fighter 2, and it had Q in the background of it (way before SF 3).

Now, I can't find this picture at all... did anyone else ever see this picture?

...and I just got finished playing as Shen Long ;)

But in all seriousness I've never seen that picture you're refering to.

got to start playing Onimusha blade warriors last night... it's not the greatests, but it sure is a nice break fromt the regular types of fighting games (even if it is a semi rip-off of Super Smash Bros). good FAQ VGM.

haha thanks. I had fun making it, writing down all the characters and stuff. I have an updated version but I dont know what it's called (I have like 4 files). IMO it's better than Super Smash Brothers.

If you need help with that game I'll answer any questions you have.

yeah, if I have any questions about it I'll be sure to ask... amyone else here have FAQs they've done? the only two I have ever done was on Stuntman, covering the insane things you can do in the stunt arena, and Tekken 5, covering all names that appear in Arcade Mode (alot of sleep was lost doing so...).

There's a White Sega Saturn at this store near me for 1900 Yen (About $18.00) The thing is my bag is pretty full as it is and I still have another 2 weeks of shopping ahead of me. If you make it worth my while I'll consider getting it for you. As for 2D fighters SNK titles seem to be harder to find than Capcoms, but are cheaper. The Vs. series average around $15. Darkstsalkers is the only really cheap Capcom title which goes for about $4-$5. Lastly I remeber seeing a RAM cart for cheap but I'm not 100% sure what the priice was, maybe $5.

I'll be going to the Neo Geo BC testing today at the Sega Club in Shinjuku. I'll post later to let you guys know how it is.
Not unless $18.00 plus shipping is worth the while.
Sorry, I'd lose about $10 on that deal.
Not unless $18.00 plus shipping is worth the while.
Sorry, I'd lose about $10 on that deal.

I went to the Neo Geo BC location test yesterdy. Overall it's what I thought it would be like. I didn't play much, due to the fact that it's already got some otaku freak with 150 wins and nobody could beat him. (In Japan they have cards you can insert into the arcade to keep track of your wins and losses) The guy was also using Kyo and Kim. What's the point in playing a new game if you're just gonna use old characters that still play the same. As a side note I also noticed alot of Japanese gamers don't have any emotions when playing. If they lose they don't get mad, if the win they don't look happy. That's kinda unusual.

Anyways I only played twice first with Geese and Moriya, then with Fuma and Mr. Karate. One of the cool features is the camera moves back once you and your opponent put distance between each other (Like Samurai Showdown.) The Tag system is in, and you can also do Tag DMs but I'm not sure how to do them. All the new characters are nicely animated and it's still not Hi-Res but NGBC has a crisp look by making the pixel edges smoothed out.

The thing I like most are all the characters, this could be an intresting franchise in a couple years if they keep adding to the already big rooster. I found one of the new original characters intresting, Yuki (who dresses like May Lee) has some ability to morph into other Neo Geo chatacters. I only shaw him morph into Duke but I'm sure there's more.

I'm sure it won't be to HOT in the states but I think it'll catch on in Japan, so look out for more.

Them having no emotions is normal - Japanese wrestling matches are extremely odd to watch, because the arena is so quiet. That's just part of their culture.

And yea, Neo Geo BC won't catch on over here - SNK isn't as hot as it used to be. The game is looking hot, though, it's got a hell of a lineup.

It's 6.99 at BB or GR if they have it. That NGBC game looks cool. Marco's in it! :D Is it getting a console release?

Probably will come to PS2 in Japan, Xbox for US, like all the other games.

A port to the PS2 is definite though, they don't even need to announce that for it to be obvious. Probably charge an arm and a leg for it too.
 my bad! i meant those Neo Geo fun centers or whatever they're called...
I wanted to go to one so I looked them up. They're pretty much dead. I think theirs one left and it's pretty much a bowling ally. But I could be wrong.
