Sorry, I'd lose about $10 on that deal.
I went to the Neo Geo BC location test yesterdy. Overall it's what I thought it would be like. I didn't play much, due to the fact that it's already got some otaku freak with 150 wins and nobody could beat him. (In Japan they have cards you can insert into the arcade to keep track of your wins and losses) The guy was also using Kyo and Kim. What's the point in playing a new game if you're just gonna use old characters that still play the same. As a side note I also noticed alot of Japanese gamers don't have any emotions when playing. If they lose they don't get mad, if the win they don't look happy. That's kinda unusual.
Anyways I only played twice first with Geese and Moriya, then with Fuma and Mr. Karate. One of the cool features is the camera moves back once you and your opponent put distance between each other (Like Samurai Showdown.) The Tag system is in, and you can also do Tag DMs but I'm not sure how to do them. All the new characters are nicely animated and it's still not Hi-Res but NGBC has a crisp look by making the pixel edges smoothed out.
The thing I like most are all the characters, this could be an intresting franchise in a couple years if they keep adding to the already big rooster. I found one of the new original characters intresting, Yuki (who dresses like May Lee) has some ability to morph into other Neo Geo chatacters. I only shaw him morph into Duke but I'm sure there's more.
I'm sure it won't be to HOT in the states but I think it'll catch on in Japan, so look out for more.
Them having no emotions is normal - Japanese wrestling matches are extremely odd to watch, because the arena is so quiet. That's just part of their culture.
And yea, Neo Geo BC won't catch on over here - SNK isn't as hot as it used to be. The game is looking hot, though, it's got a hell of a lineup.
