Black Hawk Down on FX. Great action war movie. It depicts war like no other movie I have seen except for Saving Private Ryan. Truly trajic war.

All that movie does is show how messed up the army is..

Watched Hide and Seek yesterday. Figured out the plot before the movie started, so I just watched it to see if I was right.

Guess Who – 2.5/5

Average, average, average. Guess Who is the most average flick I have seen this year. Run of the mill acting, plot, screenplay… Bernie Mac please give us a R rated movie, please.

Alexander – 1.5/5

Alexander is a mess. What the hell happened this could have been an ok movie but all this back and forth, flashback no flashback shit makes this movie a headache. I was hoping for so much more (despite the bad press). Alexander needed more time on the cutting room floor or maybe it was cut too much, I am not sure. Oliver Stone “shame on you.” Oh and the Angelina Jolie playing (Colin Farrell) Alexander’s mom is odd since they are damn near the same age. Great acting, choppy battle field scenes, *spoiler maybe* seeing Colin’s sac makes this movie a miss. Better luck next time Oliver, lets see if you can fuck up a 9/11 movie. (FYI I am a Oliver Stone fan.)

The last one I saw in theatres was Hustle and Flow. The last movie I saw was Hokus Pokus. That Disney witch movie
Sky High. No, not that one, this one.
 Well, I did see 'that' one made this year and it's nothing special. Ok kids movie but nothing extraordinary beyond that... and that's the last time I get tricked by my nieces and nephews to see a kids movie.

EDIT: and before I forget, I also saw Mongjunggi 2 aka Wet Dreams 2. It's basically American Pie... in Korea. But instead of a buncha guys as the focus, it's high school girls in your standard sailor/catholic school girl outfits.

Sounds ... interesting.

Hiroshima Mon Amour

I didn't particularly care for it. I liked the opening minutes, but then it basically lost me. The film never seemed to let me grasp it, to get a basic feeling of comprehension from it. It creates something of an impenetrable wall that doesn't allow you to tap into the essence of the film and, along with the film's slowness, creates an effect not unlike what I encountered in Woman in the Dunes of not allowing any of it to really stick with you. It's not a bad movie, but it really strikes me as a film that will require multiple viewings to allow me to have any kind of a grasp on the foundations of the film, which really frustrates me. I believe that repeat viewings should be used to enhance and clarify the basic understanding and enjoyment of a film, and shouldn't be necessary to simply establish those features. In that way, it reminds me of Mulholland Dr., and while I'll be giving that film another chance pretty soon, I have the feeling that I'll be watching this again someday too.

Russian Ark

A strange, wonderful, dreamlike experience. The most famous aspect of the movie, namely the fact that it is made up of a single, 90+ minute unbroken shot, is nothing short of amazing, and that constantly moving first person perspective certainly helps create the dreamy sense of the film. But the film is also more than just a technical feat, it taps into something almost indescribable to create its magical effect. A masterpiece, and a true work of art.

D.E.B.S.

My friends and I rented it tonight, thinking it would be a cool chick/action/spy movie, and it ended up being a lesbian love story

Boy, was Dudley Moore a great one...
Awesome. :applause: An under-appreciated classic.

Yeah, I love the Arthur movies. I've seen both of them for $5 at WalMart, but I don't know whether to buy part 1 because the disc is fullscreen. Part of me says to wait for a widescreen release, and the other part says "It's only $5." Seeing this movie again made me realize how funny it was. Maybe I'll drop the $5 after all; I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Classic lines such as:

Susan: "Take my hand."
Arthur: "That would only leave you with one."

Hobson: "If you and your undershirt would walk two paces backwards, I could enter this dwelling."

Hobson: "Could you fetch me two aspirin? They are in the medicine cabinet, next to the unused shaving cream."

Hustle and Flow. It got off to a kind of slow start for me but then I really got involved with the story and the characters. I didn't expect to like a movie about an aspiring rapper who is also a pimp but the movie was highly recommended so I wanted to give it a chance. Now I'm recommending it too.

I went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for the second time last night~

the first time around it was funny and highly entertaining, but this time I knew what was coming so I wasn't in semi-dumbfounded-shock, and the first time around I had just recently watched the original Willy Wonka.

So I laugh out loud a *lot* more (and snorted once). ^__^

=P

Top Secret...........fucking highlarious movie, old yet the jokes are still great such as the Anal Intruder and the exploding Pinto.

The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp

I didn't expect to like it much, but it got to me. Stupid movies, being good and all that crap..grr.

Is that an endorsement?

The Interpreter- Sean Penn yelling always make me picture him in that film when he played a special character.

Zero Day- Story of two kids who shoot up their school from a home video camera that they use to document the events leading up to it. Its fake but the director and actors make it feel like this is very real.

I'm going to see it tonight, finally.

EDIT: Or not. Maybe tomorrow afternoon.

Young Frankenstein

Great film. It works just as well as both a parody of the Frankenstein movies and as something of a sequel to them. And, yeah, it's pretty damn funny.
