Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

You can basically friend any of our members, or any moderator, and you will be able to request to join the community under "Communities friends are in" tab, and a mod will approve your request.

You can also leave your PSN ID in the thread, saying you want to join, and we can invite you directly as well.

My Grand Kingdom LE is also 40% off so I'm paying the same price as the base game with 20% discount. Nice~ Excitement for this game is now through the roof.

I'll save an invoice for this and Valkyria in case the price should go back up to 20% and need to contest the issue.

How about the PC version?

Nice to hear that the UN has solved every other problem in the world.

Then again, come to think of it, this is a bit like if the UN challenged the middle east's oil production and said they should ban oil. This is a direct attack on the economic lifeblood of Japan. If it had come from any organization other than the UN I'd be surprised at such an vicious attack on the Japanese economy.

 
That said, the UN was always into fucking children more than women so I guess it could just be simple taste rather than an economic attack. Lot of angles to consider here.

My card was just charged for my Fire Emblem Fates LE from Gamestop. I'm still in disbelief that I managed to place a Nintendo LE Preorder that hasn't been cancelled.

When it comes to preorders, and glitches, I've adopted a policy of preorder first, decide later.

It's so easy to cancel, so I may as well preorder now. If I wait, then even if I want the game, the benefits may disappear.

I have 3 different Grand Kingdom order, LE, Regular PS4, and PSVita. I'm not even entirely sold on the game. But I have the 40% discount, and I can cancel should I decide that I don't want it.
 
Hmm, so Shinovi versus is on sale on Vita right now. Is it worth picking up if I'm planning on getting Estival Versus next month? Do they need to be played in order, does the story matter that much?

Oh, and looks like I got the 40% off too for Sword City and Grand Kingdom :D

6 packs of 10 cards and only 1 pack is included?! I hope I get the pack I want... I would hate to purchase the other packs to try and collect them all, but they look so nice.

so long as you don't forget anyway hahaha. I've seen a number of people place preorders on here and post that they forgot to cancel by the time the game rolls out.

It sucks that Sony seems to have disabled the demo for Arslan--I "bought" it through the online store, but when I try to download it on my PS4, I'm told it isn't available. :-({|=

 
These 40% glitches almost makes me want to sign up for amazon prime. Interested to see if they fulfill the orders when it comes time to ship.

 
No vita no buy.

They didnt want to see us complain about another Kickstarter, so they did an indiegogo instead. Lol

You didn't get it. I was commenting on the fact that if your preorder doesn't get the 40% off and you forget about it and get charged that will suck on your part.

yeah. with 4 or so games that would pay for prime itself. Even fewer for limited and collectors editions. If I didn't just wait for price drops on most games or get deals on the ones I want right away I would consider prime.

Am I understanding the terms of the funding correct? The project gets all pledgers' money even if the funding goal isn't met?
 
Who was that podcast or youtube guy who raised like $1 million to make a game and then changed his mind and just kept the money?

 
Beat Gravity Rush Remastered on the PS4. This was the game that almost convinced me to buy a Vita. Now I'm kind of thankful I didn't and waited until recently to pick up a PSTV. It's been awhile since I felt so conflicted about a game. Interesting characters and nice art style, but some terrible combat controls, half-baked story, and a handful of annoying/repetitive mission objectives. 

The game had incredible potential. Hopefully Gravity Rush 2 improves heavily upon it.

Making a simple spreadsheet with all my preorders sortable by release date is among the smartest things I've ever done. I seriously recommend that everybody who preorders games does it themselves, it only takes a few extra seconds with each preorder to maintain it. At a glance I can see that I have ~$3300 worth of open preorders at this instant. I have many games ordered from 2 or more stores, just in case there are any price fluctuations, and not one unwanted order will slip through.

well i loved the vita version, was always annoyed mostly with the mapping feature, was always annoyed looking for something and getting stuck or going the long was because their wasnt a clear picture, the side missions werent that great either, agree for hoping 2 is alot better, but sony has been going the nintendo route of cheapness lately so it might be better, but only 6-8 hours of campaign to play with alot more repitivness to extend gameplay and make the game appear full of things to do
