Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

A message from Thorbahn:

Our CAG Japanese Niche Games Thread also has a community on PS4, where you can interact and game with other members of the thread.

Our moderators are: Draekon, Las_Hole, and Waffleswanton

You can basically friend any of our members, or any moderator, and you will be able to request to join the community under "Communities friends are in" tab, and a mod will approve your request.

You can also leave your PSN ID in the thread, saying you want to join, and we can invite you directly as well.

As always, have fun and enjoy your stay!

I got you guys covered. I went through my artbook and looked for offending pictures too wild for Americans.

Not the first in a while. The other is Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs Force for PSVita. However, that one didn't do so good.

Gundam Breaker 3 plays like the other Extreme Vs games but ala Gundam Build Fighter style. You're basically fighting with Gunpla.
I imported Gundam Breaker 2 and it is nothing like Extreme VS game.

Gundam Breaker is similar to Dynasty Warriors, but with fewer enemies who are harder to kill.

Here is some Gundam Breaker 2 Gameplay.

What's wrong with buying it AND communicating your concerns? Your opinion would have more weight as you have actually experienced the changes that you disagree with.

Beelzebub is bae
Because you're complaining about something even though you're part of the problem. They do this shit because it still sells either way. In the end, what they see is how well the game sold. They could care less about the bitching they get if it sells.

That game bombed in Japan and in America. I'm dying to play it, I'm just waiting for a good price.
Game seems like a fairly short 100% (Since people have done it in less than a week), so I figured if I get through it fast enough it'd basically equal out as if I had waited for a price drop while the TIV is still hovering around $30.

I feel like it will probably be one of those games that hangs on to its price for a while anyway.

TBF If Americans were given the opportunity I think they would also give used pantsus a shot.
they do going by law & order and orange is the new black though obviously not in as much frequency as japan I would imagine since you have online sales as options where jpn has vending machines >.>

Voted for Digimon! I'm loving it so far.
Thank you. Digimon also ended up being the winner.

Besides that minor damage at the corner, it was in pretty good condition. I just wish it was shrink wrapped and not "sealed" with stupid stickers.

Started Arslan: Warriors of Legend tonight. From what I played so far, its one of the best Warrior's games I have played in a long time (Other than Dragon Quest Heroes).

Loving the story mode the most, its got an awesome mix of anime and CG cutscenes, and its actually a pretty damn interesting story. (So much so that I'll probably go back and watch the Anime)
I think that's the right order to do it. I saw the anime first, which I really enjoyed, then played the game.

Pretty large sized release week and Stardew Valley (Harvest Moon clone) that I mentioned last week seems to be well received so far (But not as well as Factorio, hah!). I won't be touching it until it gets co-op though. Still no word on a release date for Final Fantasy IX on PC as it still stares at me on the top of Steam's "Upcoming" release list with a release date of 'Early 2016'.

Updated the thread with the link for Trillion LE, made a new IFFY link for it if that's ok.
Anybody can edit, it's not a problem. The font used though is Lucida Sans Unicode, which I mentioned under Misc but probably isn't really obvious. I need to edit dates on several other things mentioned in the last week or so. I can make the minor fix then along with highlighting that Trillion has a CE in the standard release list when I go to fix the other stuff. Which will hopefully be today, potentially tomorrow.

Really need to remember to edit after I find out about things because it's much easier to do that than edit it down the line when I can't remember specifics.

Looks like Ray Gigant might be coming out really soon. Trophy list just popped up here

http://psnprofiles.com/trophies/4386-RAYGIGANT

I never heard of it before, but it looks really interesting. I'd probably buy it day one,
I was pretty underwhelmed by ray gigant. The pretty idle animation in fights is all that's pretty about it. Attack animations are the same old dungeon crawler slash across the screen. From what I saw of the story in the demo, it was very Neon Genesis Evangelion-y. The main character is all like I don't wanna fight. And the others were all assholes about making him fight. That's just from what I saw and it could get better. I dunno, seems like a standard drpg I wouldn't pay more than $20 for.
