Watched the Boondock Saints last night, great movie.
Uhh.. good for you? Wrong thread, guy.

I won't be ordering the PPV. I planned on it, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut I dunno. I don't like the amount of WWE on the PPV. That, and they jacked the price to $39.99. Yikes. I'm going do what I did last year.. avoid CAG, avoid sites, avoid everything, then download and watch it tomorrow..

I'm with Roufuss. I'll order this one, but there's no way in hell I'd pay $40 for their substandard single-brand PPVs, and hardly a chance I'd order Summerslam or Survivor Series for that much.

This will be my WWE PPV for this year. And, depending on how TNA goes with the Nash/X-Division feud, my last PPV of the year.
I'm going do what I did last year.. avoid CAG, avoid sites, avoid everything, then download and watch it tomorrow..
Seconded. I'd love to get some friends together to watch it, but I don't know enough people who both a) watch wrestling and b) would pay a couple bucks to see it. $40 is outside the realm of what I'm willing to pay.

I really want to go to a Hooters (because uhh.....the wings are good) to watch this tonight, but sadly I have to work. I suppose I'll just read the results when I get home.

A few spoilers concerning who is backstage at the Ballroom.

The "Manager Of Champions" Bill Alfonso, is backstage at the Hammerstein Ballroom and will take part in ECW One Night Stand tonight. The "man who calls it right down the middle" is scheduled to manage both Sabu and Rob Van Dam in their respective title matches tonight on the show.

Also, Big Guido of the FBI is backstage, and will accompany Little Guido & Tony Mamaluke for their match against Yoshihiro Tajiri & Super Crazy.
The first one is probably the best spoiler that could've been confirmed, in my opinion.

I was really hoping he'd be there, genocidal. Good to know he is.

2Fast, Hooters wings really are very good. They make me wish I still ate wings.

The only way to save that Nash/X-Div feud is for Nash to absolutely get his ass handed to him.

Or, a more likely scenario would be him getting injured on his way into the ring. Either way, as far as I'm concerned.

I agree on the first point. I'm afraid it's not gonna happen. They're gonna sacrifice the entire X-Division to build up to a Samoa Joe/Kevin Nash match at the next PPV, where Joe single-handedly defends the honor of the X-Div that Nash single-handedly squashed. It's very counterproductive no matter how you cut it.

I'd like to see Nash injure himself walking to the ring and have the smart mark Orlando crowd chant "SHOOT! SHOOT! SHOOT!" at him. It's my very very least favorite crowd chant of all time (save for a certain f-bomb in reference to sexual orientation), but it would be totally awesome in Nash's case.

cant wait for ons....dont expect it to be better then last years but who knows.....

Hope nash sticks around for a while.. want to meet him at boung for glory..(hoping hes lasts to october and its still in orlando)

I just watched WWE vs. ECW. The Mickie James/Jazz match was pretty much what a women's match should be. Good work from both, considering the time constraints. I didn't expect Show to defect, that was a fun moment. I have no idea who he's going to wrestle in ECW though. Overall, the show was a good buildup for the PPV. I'm leaving in a half-hour to watch it.

BTW, I bet the sci-fi purists (i.e., nerds) are up in arms about ECW on Sci-Fi.
sci-fi purists (i.e., nerds)
no more than wrestling fans. ;)

It's like the old Reese's cups commericals:

"You got sci-fi in my pro wrestling!"
"You got pro wrestling in my sci-fi!"

I was just thinking - is there any hope that Nick Dinsmore could make it as a *wrestler* in the new ECW, or will he be Eugene forever?

Quite frankly I would understand very easily if sci-fi fans are up in arms about ECW. I guess that is the main reason they are getting a vampitre faction together, just to appease some of them. This is no different than Cartoon Network showing Saved By the Bell and Pee-Wee's Playhouse.

Pee Wee is like a live action cartoon though. With things like a talking chair and a genie.

You heard it here first... Tazz beats Lawler in like 10 seconds, no joke. The fucking entrances were longer then that match... Tazz won, but the buildup for that and the fact you expected to see Tazz WRESTLE... no dice.

I just got done watching Orton vs Angle... Orton really stepped it up, Angle put on alot of technical wrestling, the match got really great near the end. Angle wins win tap out on Orton's ankle.

Spoilers on the first two matches on One Night Stand... Tazz vs Lawler was a joke.
Thank you, Roufuss. Keep us updated.
I'm a bit behind, so bear with me:

FBI vs Tajiri / Super Crazy was awesome... it's so good to see Tajiri back in the ring. And when
Big Show cleaned house after the match was over, that was awesome, the man was unstoppable, pulling moves I'd never seen. FBI retained.
.

Some more notes: Big Show and Kurt Angle have new music... variations on the old songs. Big Show's sucks, Kurt Angle's is cool.

Tazz and Joey Styles are AWESOME together, and you can tell they are having so much fun.

Oh my god... that Terry Funk / Dreamer vs Edge / Foley match was INSANE.

the plywood full of barbed wire, when Terry Funk lights the barbed wire 2 x 4 on fire, lights Mick Foley ON FIRE, and slams into the plywood, and then Terry Funk HIMSELF gets pushed into it and they have to CUT HIM OUT!!!! All of you that doubted Terry Funk, he was awesome. Edge and Foley won because the match was 3 on 3 because Beulah and Lita joined in, Edge pinned Beulah for the win.

And wow... Mysterio vs Sabu

Sabu vs Mysterio had no winner... Sabu give Mysterio some kind of DDT through a table propped between a guardrail and the ring, and they were talking about how someone broke their neck, but both wrestlers were rushed to the hospital? I don't know if that's a work but WOW it was convincing, that DDT was VICIOUS, that match was AWESOME, I can't watch Mysterio tone it down on Smackdown ever again

Roufuss' coverage is pretty much on par with my feelings. I was VERY impressed with the Edge/Foley and Funk/Dreamer match. I thought it could be the biggest disappointment on the card, and instead it was one of the best from start to finish.

NEW ECW CHAMP ROB VAN DAM!

Edge (!?!?) speared John Cena through a table, which RVD followed up with a five-star frog splash and the pinfall. The match was fascinating in the same way Goldberg/Lesnar was, which is to say the crowd was entertaining, and the match not so much. It wasn't bad, but the finish was immensely anticlimactic (mostly b/c of the length of time between the five-star and the pinfall).

I also think that Paul E counting the pinfall for RVD will setup having John Cena retain via some dumbass clause, but RVD will still be the "ECW" champ, while Cena will be the "WWE" champ.

Angle/Orton was an awesome *wrestling* match, and the Hardcore tag match was an awesome brawl. I hope that ECW keeps going in this direction. Terry Funk is either dumb as a box of rocks, the least lucky person on the face of the planet, or he makes it look too good. Wow. Just wow. Download it now. Or order it now, if your guilt trip precludes you to. fuckin' whatever you have to do to see it, do it.
. Download it now.
Order it now!!!

havent stayed glue to the tube for a wrestling ppv like this since last years ons....

Ofcourse only downside of the night was those damn wwe theme songs

i fucking hate them

the opening entrances for rvd and cena alone were incredible.....i was planning on rippin them and uppin them in a bit if anyone wanted to see them

I hope Cena's heel turn is permanent... the man punched out a ref, and when he threw RVD through that chair? Priceless!

I have alot more respect for Cena now then when I did before.

I thought Edge was going to turn to ECW, as well, but nope. He was even wearing a zipper jacked, thought he'd tear it off to have an ECW shirt.
there any hope that Nick Dinsmore could make it as a *wrestler* in the new ECW, or will he be Eugene forever?
lol.... lets just say he was not well received at ons...

That was a good show, no major shocks but a nice sigh of relief they didn't screw it up. The entrance themes were a disappointment, but they'll have a show now, so it's something I can get used to.

And I had WWE crunch time popcorn while watching, expired 2004. As bad now as it was 2 years ago.

So does anyone know if Sabu and Mysterio
are seriously hurt, or was it a work? Mysterio looked kind of fucked up, but that British doctor who was like NO ONE IS WRESTLING ANYMORE made it seem kind of fake

And Eugene getting the shit beaten out of him was awesome.

I think it was a work. No EMT's came out to check on them and the people who were out there practically dragged Rey out w/o showing any caution. When Funk was taken out there was an EMT along w/WWE's trainer looking him over. The NY State Athletic Commission is pretty strict about stopping a match (wrestling, boxing, etc.) if one of the participants is cut badly enough. IMO, Funk was allowed back out since he had the wound bandaged. Rey/Sabu's bump was SICK, though.

SORRY 4 CRAPPY QUALITY AND SOUND..WANTED TO GET IT UP QUICK...

we should be able to torrent it tommorrow anyways
Thanks guyver, that was great.

I really wish I could have watched this, the atmosphere just seemed so damn incredible. However, I really wish Cena would have won, just to see all those ECW clowns go crazy.

Looks like TNA's Trinity is going to be in the new ECW.

Also, looks like Angle and Justin Credible aren't drinkers.

LOL the look on big shows face. Its like hes thinking. Be happy now you stupid SOB cause paul is going to screw you over very shortly

Well, she doesn't look like a horse Kerry VonErich in there, so I can understand your confusion.

Subscribers to WWE 24/7 Online, be sure to check out the WCW section for a "15 Man Cruiserweight Battle Royal." It's worth it for Chris Jericho's *AMAZING* ring entrances, and it makes me miss Y2J that much more. Also, I don't ever recall Johnny Swinger/Parisi being in WCW, but he was in this match. Strange.

"Here comes Silver King. If he wins twelve more matches, he'll be upgraded to Golden King!"

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the true shooter of WCW...Evan Karagias!"

That picture is so heartwarming, with ECW mainstays like The Big Show and Trinity cheering their longtime running buddy RVD on.
LOL, Big Show never has had a decent entrance song.
And he still doesn't. It's his old theme, just redone.

Seriously, they couldn't let Alfonzo come out with Van Dam OR Sabu? What the hell?

The Sabu-Mysterio ending is bullshit. It was a neat spot, but there was other stuff during the night just as bad and they kept going. I realize they did that to keep the suspense of who would win the "real" main event, but it's still a fucking ripoff to have a non-finish like that.

Not a terrible show, but nowhere near as good as last year's. The fans last year enhanced what was already a good show. This year, the fans were the best part of the show.

This was my first PPV since WM20. At this rate, it'll probably be another 2+ years before I buy one again.

Lame as hell to get Edge involved in the main event. As long as they continue to sponge off ECW shows to build-up Raw or Smackdown specific storylines, ECW is never going to really take off. It needs to be seperate.

I like how they built it up that if Van Dam or Sabu won, they'd rename it the ECW title and Raw would be without a belt...then within a minute of RVD winning, they say that he'll be defending his title against Edge at the next WWE PPV.

Best chant of the night: "SAME OLD SHIT" at Cena....I don't even hate Cena but I still laughed my ass off. The shirt-toss game was funny as well.

And when Cena did that "You can't see me" bit JUST to piss the fans off... that was classic.

He had an awesome entrance too.

I hope Cena stays heel now... like I said earlier, shoving RVD's head into the chair was awesome. I never heard them say RVD would be defending against his title against Edge, that makes no sense, since Edge wants the WWE title, not the ECW title. I could have sworn Edge was going to defect, unzip his jacket and have on an ECW shirt... the man puts on some amazing hardcore matches and I honestly think he'd be a good fit for ECW.

No one is talking about Balls Mahoney vs Tanaka? That match was great, Balls tooks beer out of the audience, and that chair shot at the end over Tanaka's head where he bent the chair back was SICK. FBI vs Super Crazy and Tajiri was great too.

Tazz and Styles are amazing together... best commentators ever. "Hey Tazz, remember Tanaka's match last year with Mike Awesome?" "Mike who?"

Meltzer says, re: title situation for tonight...

They will likely not strip RVD of the title...when he loses it, it will be in the ring.

Although I suppose THAT could happen tonight too...
Wait, I stand corrected - if you count his WCW era career, the Dungeon of Doom music was awesome.
