After watching One Night Stand and seeing the show on Tuesday, I can actually say that I'm excited to watch wrestling again.

I was a diehard WCW fan ever since I was a wee lad, and when they got bought out, I swore off wrestling for a long time. Hopefully, things go well with ECW this time around, because it seems pretty entertaining.

Wow...if I keep counting the number of people who enjoyed the show on Tuesday, I'm going to have to start using my other hand soon.

This is shifting gears here, but Goldust is gone....again. That's fine with me, he was being wasted. I fucking hated how the announcers tried to convice us he was "bizarre," as if just saying it over and over made it so. During Goldust's most recent run, he was about as bizarre as Chris Benoit.

It's sad to remember that during the mid 90's, he was the most entertaining character in years - and was the catalyst for the Attitude era. Austin made it huge and the ECW invasion had some influence, but Goldust doing his creepy Hollywood pervert act and doing stuff like implying Vince had a boner while interviewing him was something they had never dared go into before. Not to mention funny as hell.

After seeing the show on Tuesday? I oughta slap you in the mout'!

Well, at least somebody liked it. I must say, if it's a show even fucking guyver doesn't like...

That Samoa Joe/Steiner promo with the back and forth comments was quite possibly the best I have seen in a long time...really wish I could watch that match!

Very true, Kane. I recall his feud with Razor Ramon was awesome, though not so much his feud with Piper - that WMXII match they had ("Hollywood Brawl") was some serious WCW Uncensored bullshit right there.

My last fond memory of Goldie was a match he had with RVD at No Way Out (2002). It was an unexpectedly fantastic match, and Goldie got pushed - as a wrestler! - for mebbe two weeks afterward.

Truth be told, he, like a lot of wrestlers, has a *ton* of mental baggage. He rarely lasts long anywhere.

OT, I was in Border's yesterday, and much like a child, felt the need to push a button on the box for the Dusty Rhodes DVD. Here's some advice. Don't ever do that in a public place.

Speaking of Goldust, does anybody remember his feud with Brian Pillman? I remember Marlena had to become his sex slave or something.

Funny story: I was watching RAW one time and I had to hit the bathroom something bad, so I started taping it (so I could watch what I missed). Wouldn't you know that I happened to catch Pillman brining a sluttily-dressed Marlena out to the ring, helping her up to the ring, and making her get into the ring by squatting in between the bottom and middle rope. And wouldn't you know it, she was wearing a short skirt with no underwear, and you got a good 2-3 second close up shot of her unmentionables. You can imagine the kind of shot it was by the position she was in.

I should find the tape and throw it on YouTube.

Anyone else think if this "ecw" is successful (big if).. that thq will decide to make a seperate ecw game..? maybe when they get a decent sized roster..

i would think they would cash in on it

and yes they better put zombie in

I think so. Sometimes, I think you're a rube. Other times, I envy that you're capable of just enjoying a program that so many of us try to dissect, bitch about, and discuss to the point of now return the politics behind. Why can't some of us shut the fuck up and enjoy a dumb-ass fucking television show now and then?

Don't let that fool you into thinking that I ever want to be a "Big Lazy" Kevin Nash fan!

Yeah, I remember the feud because Pillman died before they really pulled the trigger on it.

I guess its just the way that i post that i seem over excited all the time or it could just be that i dont usually take the time to provide more details in my posts..

I really only "mark" out when something big happens or for a ecw show...

I barely even care anymore when watching smackdown or raw (kane 2 and dx exception)

Tna has more chances of wow'ing me.. and i usually mark for old wcw guys just because i kinda grew up watching the wrestlers (during middle school/high school times)

Well, I'd rather see excessive enthusiasm than excessive pessimism any day. I don't get all that excited about much of anything anymore in wrestling. Everthing that can be done, has been done for the most part. Plus, it's different now. Fans know how wrestling works. I kind of wish I could go back to those naive days again. It's kind of like the saying, "ignorance is bliss." Once you take the bite of the fruit of knowledge, things are a lot different.

I agree 100%, i realize im one of the people who spend more time bitching about the state of wrestling than enjoying it. I wish i didnt have to disect ever fucking thing and just sit back and enjoy it for what it is. I definetly miss the old days when i cheered for someone because of who they were and not for how great of a "worker" they are. I miss the days where i didnt notice when spots were being called during a match or where a blown spot didnt ruin an otherwise good match for me.

Like I said before, I haven't really watched wrestling for quite some time.

Honestly, I'm more into MMA now than watching wrestling. But I thought ONS was pretty damn entertaing. But then again, I was entertained by WCW wrestling right up till the end, so just about anything would wow me after that crap.

I just watched Wrestlemania XIX for the first time and boy that Booker T vs. Triple H match made me angry. That is the most retarded shit I've ever seen. You were right Myke, forty fucking seconds after the pedigree Triple H puts one hand (ONE HAND!) on Booker, and 1, 2, 3. That was terrible. Oh well, at least I got to see one hell of a harlem hangover. Michaels vs. Jericho was awesome too.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

I have to say that JBL was pretty good with his commentary. Some of it was less than PC but his character kind of calls for that I suppose. Other than that he was pretty funny.

"Shut up Michale Cole or I'll hit you with my wallett!" (paraphrased)

That was the line of the night.

Just wait until next week when he brings out Moppy's sister Broomie.

Major Slammiversary spoiler just revealed...

Christian will lose the title as TNA accidently put the new edition of Global Impact online too early which reveals to tune into Impact this Thursday to see the NEW NWA World Champ.

Maybe Abyss is the Kane imposter... they certainly are close enough alike, right down to the Paul Bearer wannabe manager.

Boy, they fucked up BIGTIME uploading that program early.

That being said, Christian is good, but he's been a lackluster champion. He's totally lukewarm. I think a heel needs it - NOT Jarrett - and you need to build up a face to challenge him instead. People watch the chase, not the success, you know. At least, that's how Triple H rationed his 4 year long stranglehold on the title as a heel World Champion (except, of course, when he had to rationalize holding the title as a face).

TNA isn't gaining anything having Christian as the champion right now. They're making the right move, IMO.

It's Vince's latest idea...

The "Poke my Ass Club."

I realize that it's 480 posts, but this is my last chance to post until tomorrow night, so i'm going to go ahead and post the new thread. Mods can lock this one up orrrrrr you can ride it out until it's done at 500.

I pretty much agree that Christian has not done much, but it is not like he has really been given a lot of face time. He has not been in an Impact match in forever and never really appears with a presence on the show. Too much time is dedicated to the exploits of double J and Sting along with some of the other heavyweights.

I really hope that Spike does something that gives Impact 2 hours. They have so many talented people on their roster and it would really help showcase their product and could bring in a lot more people.
