Jushin "Thunder" Liger's wrestling topic

Xbox Wrestlemania 21 question - I'd like to permanently unlock everything in the game, but it seems like a lot of effort to do so. Is there a way to do that?

I got this from GameFAQs. I don't know how much it will help, since judging by the confusing wording, it seems that you still need the cash to buy the items:

Unlock everything in Shop Zone
Step 1: At the Start Menu screen, hold down the Right and Left Triggers. Kepp them held in during the entire code entry process.
Step 2: Now Press the White and Black buttons.
Step 3: Now Press A, B, X, Y buttons all at once.
Step 4: Now Press Start.
Step 5: Everything will now be unlocked in the shop zone UNTIL you play a match.

Liger eh? Well, not a terrible choice... not who I would've picked, however, I must say you did an excellent job on the bio, of course I would've expected no less from you Jack ;)

hmmm... Well, I have zero respect for the Outlaws now (not that I had much before). I've never liked Hunter too much, but he's above these guys in my eyes. I was amazed when he came back this fall how well he did. I expected a repeat of his past injuries where he would come back and be rusty and still be right on the top with the belt. Instead, he wasn't rusty at all and he's involved in other places than with the title. Also, HHH didn't screw Orton. As great as I think Orton is, he just isn't ready to carry the company. The Outlaws are just upset that they suck (and inhale apparently) and want someone to blame for their problems.

Oh, and the astounding depths of their vocabulary level is amazing! I wish I could use one four letter word over and over and over...

It seems that the highlighted segments contradict each other, but I don't know since I can't try it out...

I really can't stand Vince's "I walk like I have my ego stuck up my ass" strut. He's gonna blow out his quads again doing that.

anyone else think Shawn wins via Sharpshooter?

edit: definately blew that one

and nice move moving the announcers back to where they were before bischoff moved it back like WCW. Hopefully they break it tonight in the first blood match.

Lillian Garcia would be prettier with cum on her face.

Matter of fact, all girls are prettier with cum on their face.

I seriously thought when Angle smeared the blood on his chest that the ref would see it and think it was his then call a victory for Cena. Was anyone else surprised Angle won?

Wasn't Vince supposed to announce the new GM tonight? I didn't watch Raw, but no results I've read have included anything about a new GM, just more Cena/Angle crap.

He only mentioned that he was not interviewing candidates for GM. I think they'll announce the GM next week, after NYR, maybe later if they plan to advertise it.

RVD interfering in the Edge/Flair match is the best swerve I've been able to come up with for this seemingly predictable PPV... is he ready to come back yet?

Wow, two out of six matches at NYR feature women on a show with three fully-trained female wrestlers. One of the other four matches involves a semi-retired wrestler (Lawler) with no buildup whatsoever. The HHH/TBS buildup has been very good (no shit), and the Edge/Flair buildup has been better than average. It's pretty telling, however, that there are only 13 full-time male Raw wrestlers on one PPV, and 6 (or 7?) female workers. That leaves a *LOT* of guys who work for WWE who aren't filling out a 3-hour PPV, who have no character (Shelton Benjamin notwithstanding  ), who have no feuds to speak of, and are in a general holding pattern. Am I supposed to believe that their staff is working as hard as it can to put together compelling feuds and storylines when so few talent is being used?

EDIT: Perhaps this exposes that I'm too liberal and sensitive, but considering that Shelton grew up in Minnesota, and hails from there, is it stereotyping to have his mama coming from South Carolina, since we all know black people don't live up north? She certainly doesn't appear to be of retirement age, though she dresses like a bit-part player from "Mama's Family."

When did he start hailing from Minnesota? Last time I watched RAW he was from Orangeburgh, SC and thats what his bio says. Also I dont know where Jack has been, but there is a possiblity that Charlie Hass may be coming back in. He will be on thr RAW roster this time and may be involved in Sheltons angle. Whatever it is, I have not been watching too much WWE as of late. Which is pretty sad, but there is TNA and UFC.

Shelton has always been billed as from South Carolina, as ECW_fan stated, but he did attend University of Minnesota with Lesnar. Perhaps that's why you're thinking he's from Minnesota, myke?

Sounds like I'm wrong. Perhaps I was thinking of his tag team w/ Lesnar, the Minnesota Stretching Crew. I could *swear* that they said he was from MN, and there was a backstory vignette one week that talked about how hard it was for Benjamin to grow up in Minnesota. Maybe I just subconsciously hate SC? I dunno; thanks for the correction.

I wish we could forward that and any of my many rants on the current state of the WWE to their creative team. I swear give myke and I two months behind the wheel and we'd steer this WWE ship back on course.

In other semi-pointless news, should Trish retain the title over Mickie James she'll have held the women's strap for a full year. Although, I'm pretty sure she didn't defend the title for about half of that stretch.

Have Cena and Batista had longer title reigns than JBL now? I'm fairly certain it matters not as both look set to hold their respective titles going into WM at the very least.

They're getting close. New Year's Revolution would mark the point where Cena and Batista have held their titles for as long as JBL.

Just shows you how sorry a state the WWE is in. They're fixing some little things like cutting dead weight from the roster, putting Styles on the announce team, removing Bischoff, but in general it's still a mess. There's nothing new anymore, nothing we haven't seen over and over again the past what... maybe 4, going on 5 years? Ever since the Attitude Era peaked there's been little to write home about. True there's been a couple of nice swerves here and there, but none of them really went anywhere. I could list off a dozen or so, but just think along the lines of Austin getting hit by the car, WCW Invasion, and Evolution turning on Orton.

WWE needs new writers, new ideas, etc. I guess me saying all that is just as old and tired as WWE's storylines themselves. I should take a few communications classes before I get my business degree in May here and apply for the writer position, just so I can say I tried to help the problem.

That will not stay like that perminately.. It's a shame you cant save it but the only way to unlock everything the easy way I guess is to get an Action Replay or Sharkport or something like that.

That's the thing that sucks; I have one, and the game saves I transfer don't seem to work (they exist, and the money is there, but nothing's unlocked).

Ah, I'll try again I suppose.

i have to do that stupid code everytime i wanna play with mankind or to select wm21..

I put alot of hours into the game and atleast i unlocked a few legends.. but god damn its hard to unlock stuff in this game.. takes alot of time..

still waiting for this to be playable on 360 :)

Anyone ever play the Fire Pro Wrestling games for GBA? If so, which one is better Fire Pro Wrestling or Fire Pro Wrestling 2?

I have said it numerous times in the wrestling threads (okay, maybe twice)....

THE WWE NEEDS AN OFF-SEASON!!!

Two months off at the end of the year to boost wrestler morale, heal injuries, and tighten up storylines. Every other show in the entertainment or sports world has an off-season or hiatus. WWE should be no different.

That'd be too much of a risk though... fans have come to expect their weekly dose of WWE. At this point it's like a drug and the only viewers left are all junkies of the product. I think they'd be at risk to lose even more viewers if the show started taking a month or two off.

What they do need to do (badly) is change the ppv format, if you want to have 14 ppvs a year that's one thing, but having Armageddon and New Years Revolution so close together right after Survivor Series and during a period of time in which you skip an episode of Raw & SD just makes no sense at all. Plus Royal Rumble is at the end of January! The only way the buy rate is saved is from the Elimination Chamber and HITC matches. Sadly the rest of the card for those 2 brand ppvs are weak due to a severe lack of build-up. Why not change them a bit, perhaps... mesh them into one ppv and then bring back KoTR or something else during the Summer along the lines of Clash of the Champions.

I understand that Vince feels the need for both Raw & SD to have their own ppvs between the Survivor Series and Royal Rumble ppvs, but honestly, how many of you bought or even went to a bar/friends place to watch Armageddon or plan to for NYR? Now, how many of you would've done so had both the Elimination Chamber match and the HITC match been on the card?

So I lost all my wrestling themes I was going to put on my xbox; I'm looking for mostly classic stuff, and not current, wwf/wcw themes. I can't find any on pwt. any ideas where I can look?

There's someone in #wrestling on EFnet that's compiling a torrent of damn near every theme to throw on PWT... last I heard they were 1 theme away from having it complete to their liking (one of Steve Corino's theme, FWIW). I'd imagine they'll have the files separated so you could just DL what you wanted when they do put the torrent up.

Oh, and if it's anything in particular, I'm sure between all of us on here someone will probably have it and be willing to put it on a yousendit or rapidshare or the like for you ;)

Well, I need to go through the cds I own and find what I don't have already.

I know, for example, that I won't have a copy of Demolition's theme or the nWo b&w theme; I don't know, though, if I have Ravishing Rick Rude's theme (I'm pretty sure I don't). Or Waylon Mercy. fuck! How did I manage to lose all those?

Someone from Deepdiscountdvd must be reading this (as I recently said I was getting into collecting wrestling dvds)... and a big fuck YOU to them, fucking douchebags jacked up the prices of all their wrestling dvds, including the WM Anthology from $157.18 to $176.37, so now should I get it during the next 20% off sale I'm paying an extra $15 and change, thanks assholes. Not that that's horrible, but I'm sure some of you can see where I'm coming from and why this annoys me. Shoulda (coulda/woulda) grabbed the Anthology during the last sale. The Guerrero, Benoit, & Jake the Snake dvds are all up from $16.17 to $18.86, Taker, Bret Hart and The Wrestling Stars of the 80s dvds are all up from $18 and change to $22.02. And of-fucking-course the Foley DVD, one of the only ones I actually got, remains $17.94, just fucking typical. Oh, Flair's DVD also didn't go up... yet. I seriously hope that these price raises aren't permanent and the prices drop back either for the Summer or November Sale, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Saw some more interesting things on DDD:

http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/dvd.cfm?itemID=WWE094524

A Hogan DVD is set for release in April, the release date being right around WM and the price suggest to me that this will be an official WWE dvd. Should be a pretty good one too, although most of Hogan's big moments came at WM and with the WM Anthology dvd set already available I can't see many of those matches being on the dvd.

Here's what I'd like to see:

Disc 1 WWF:
1. Hogan vs Iron Sheik (WWF Champion) at MSG
2. Hogan (WWF Champion) vs Nikolai Volkoff in a Flag Match on SNME in East Rutherford, NJ
3. Hogan (WWF Champion) vs Paul Ordorff in a Steel Cage Match in Hartford
4. Hogan (WWF Champion) vs Andre at WM 3 in Pontiac
5. Hogan (WWF Champion) vs King Kong Bundy on SNME in Landover, MD
6. MegaPowers vs Andre & Dibiase in the first ever Summerslam main event (1988)
7. Hogan (WWF Champion) vs Ted DiBiase on SNME in Cincinnati
8. Hogan (WWF Champion) vs Savage on The Main Event III in Detroit

Disc 2 WCW/WWE:
1. Hogan vs Ric Flair (WCW Champion) at Bash at the Beach 94
2. Hogan vs The Giant (WCW Champion) at Hog Wild 96
3. Hogan vs Lex Luger (WCW Champion) at Road Wild 97
4. Hogan (nWo Champion) vs Flair at SuperBrawl IX
5. Hogan vs HHH (WWE Champion) at Backlash 02
6. Hogan & Edge vs Billy & Chuck (Tag Champions) on SD, July 2002
7. Hogan vs HBK at Summerslam 05

Disc 3 Bonus features:
Birth of Hulkamania
Bodyslamming Andre
highlights from Royal Rumble 90 and 91, the two years Hogan won, you could have the part of the match from which Hogan entered (late in the match of course) to the point in which he wins
"Patriot Speech" from SNME in Macon, GA
Hogan joins the nWo at Bash at the Beach 96
Hogan being dragged by Taker on a motorcycle
Hogan running over Takers motorcycle in a semi
Hogan pulls off Kurt's wig
Hall of Fame Induction

I doubt I'll be so lucky, I'm sure we'll get plenty of Hogan & Rock though, and other things no one wants to see, or things that are on the WM Dvds already.

Two other quirky DVDs I saw, scheduled for February releases:

http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/dvd.cfm?itemID=WWE094520

WWE 2005 Rewind, which will contain every 2005 ppv on dvd. Sadly, 2005 really was an uneventful year, but I'm sure John Cena & Batista fans will appreciate that set

http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/dvd.cfm?itemID=WWE094522

And here we have ECW's most Violent Matches, needless to say I'm looking forward to that much more than the WWE PPV dvd set.

I just noticed your sig, ZL. If you didn't seem like such a good guy/horse, I'd want to hit youwith a steel chair for endorsing Pre-Paid Legal.

Back on topic, It'd be cool to get the PPV set, seeing as how the only PPVs I saw in 2005 were WM21 (in the arena) and Survivor Series, plus a few matches from Armageddon on YouTube.

Also, here are the non-spoiler SD and Velocity cards:

Velocity:

1) Dicks vs. Jobbers
2) Lashley vs. Jobber
3) FBI vs. Mexicools
4) Scotty 2 Hotty vs. Jamie Noble

Smackdown:

1) JBL vs. Matt Hardy (falls count anywhere)
2) Mark Henry vs. 3 jobbers (elimination match)
3) Kid Kash vs. Juvy (CW title match)
4) Benoit vs. Orton (match #6 in Booker/Benoit series)
5) MNM vs. Batista/Rey (tag team title mathc, steel cage)

Plus an interview segment with Simon Dean and Lonon/Kendrick, as well as a Bobby Lashley promo, Boogeyman/JBL stuff, and the return of a certain star.

What's the explanation for substituting Orton for Booker in the best of seven series (I know Book is injured, but I haven't been able to watch SD in a couple of weeks)? Why aren't they just delaying it until Booker gets better, or just make the match at Royal Rumble the final match?

Orton agreed to be Book's substitute last week. I just don't see how it can play out well. Benoit has to win at least this one match, but Orton jobbing would be bad. They could have another DQ finish, but that would only further cheapen the outcome of the series.

But hey, at least Benoit and Orton always put on good-great matches with each other.

I'm getting a feeling that this may end up in a triple threat match at Royal Rumble for the U.S. title, with Orton coming in as Champ by some means. I really hope that doesn't happen.

I just hope they somehow salvage Orton's push (difficult after HIAC and now this) in order to have him win the World Title at WrestleMania. I mean, they have no one else but Undertaker who could take the title off Batista, and I want Orton to win anyway.

:whistle2:k Didn't really think of it that way... I wonder if Orton is getting pushed back to upper-mid card now. That'd be a shame after his whole feud with the Undertaker. I wonder who is going to get the title shot at Batista at WM now. I wouldn't be too shocked if that match was a triple threat match, assuming Batista still isn't ready to carry the load of such a match himself by that time due to his back injury.

I was fully expecting Orton or Triple H to win the rumble and then Orton vs Batista and HHH vs Cena, but now I just don't know/care I guess.

Here's a point to debate, and something discussing Orton made me think of.

Does feuding with the Undertaker bury a wrestler?

Some say yes: UT wins most matches, certainly physically dominates his opponents, and rarely sells any offense. Wrestlers have nothing to gain by feuding with him.

Some say no: While the above is true (except for the last sentence), because it is expected that the Undertaker destroys anyone and everyone, it doesn't hurt a wrestler at all to be beaten just like everyone else. In fact, merely being in a feud with the UT shows that a wrestler is "high profile" and can, in a unique way, elevate a wrestler's status.

I'm curious what many of you think; while I expect a lot of people who say he kills careers, I'd expect a few to eloquently state just why he helps boost some careers. Discuss.

I don't know, Myke. I got frustrated when Orton lost HIAC, as it would have helped him a lot. However, he did win at SummerSlam and No Mercy, while losing their Smackdown match and at WrestleMania. I do figure it doesn't hurt him much in the eyes of the average fan, though.

I'm actually more concerned about his currentprogram. I love Benoit, but Orton does not need to be on the losing end of a US Title program.

Two other possible solutions for the WM title matches- Remember, the Rumble winner can choose which title togo after, and SD needs star power anyway. Maybe a Raw guy will win the Rumble and switch shows. Also, they could revise Edge's MITB contract to switch it back to a World Title shot, and he could go after Batista.

ok my predictions:
michaels wins elimination chamber, feuds against vince, cena becomes vinces goon feuds briefly with michaels
triple h wins rumble
michaels and triple H at wrestlemania for title
orton wins u.s title for booker, but then feuds with him on the basis that he's the won who actually won the belt

TIM WHITE SPOILERS:

From PWInsider:

WWE recently filmed a vignette with Josh Matthews interviewing former referee Tim White, who is sitting in a chair. In the vignette, Matthews points out that during the Armageddon PPV, White actually dropped the shotgun he was holding and "shot himself in the toe." They go on to show White's bandaged toe.

Matthews then asked White if he has any new year's resolutions. At that point, White pulls a box marked Rat Poison into the camera's view, shoves Matthews away and dumps the contents down his throat. To make it comedic, White and the chair tip backwards as the sounds of the poison sliding out of the box are heard.

WWE was working on editing and mixing the vignette earlier this week, so it may air as soon as tomorrow night's edition of Smackdown on UPN.
