Demo is 632.71MB...downloading now!

EDIT: After about 15 minutes of playing, I'm thinking I'd prefer playing Saint's Row.

So far, I really don't like it.

They just throw you into a mission right off the bat and the controls are horrible.

I'm glad they gave an option to turn off motion blur though.

I like how I killed the first dude. I jacked his car and it was about to blow up, so what happens? I leave the car, and the guy goes back in it. Boom. First guy down.

Nice AI Eidos.

iViva La Revolution!

Sorry, just wanted to deliver that line. Downloading it now.. i'm not expecting much more than a third person action game along the lines of Dead to Rights with the ability to do stunts, so maybe I won't be disappointed..

This demo definitely isn't going to help them sell any games. Graphics are choppy, controls need work, and it doesn't compete to Saint's Row. It almost like they knocked off the concept from the Vin Diesel XXX movie. Super Agent extreme sports stunt specialist goes off with guns to kill people, except this game makes the XXX movie look oscar worthly. Shudder...

Okay Saint Row is horrible also am I the only one who sees that. Also actually this game is better then saint row. Actually a little more playing and figureing out how to play game aint half bad.

No, just no.

Everything is just tighter with Saint's Row.

Character customization, the controls, the graphics, the music, the city, online play, the missions.

You name it Saint's Row is a step above this game.

Did this game get WORSE since E3? How on earth did it get all this recognition? Flat out terrible. At least in the Saints Row demo, you can invert the sticks.

Wow what a let down. I can't see the final game being much better. Definitely waiting until this one hits the bargain bin, if that. I'm with Sporadic on the SR comparison.
It looks like the demo has given people enough just cause not to buy the game.

Ha, I made a funny!
I told someone today that Just Cause Just Sucks.

I'll be here all week.

I played the demo for about 20 minutes, then quickly deleted it from my hard drive. I don't want this garbage stinking up my system. What a complete and total piece of junk.

What a waste of time. Theres one game I don't have to worry about buying. Parachute was cool till the camera/controls made me fuck it up.

Alright, actually...I'm digging this game. Maybe it's because I thought it was going to be a pile of crap, and it was actually pretty fun. I'd pick it up if I wasn't playing anything else.

I really dont understand the hate... I found the demo extremely fun. How could anyone like the horrid Saints Row demo more than this?

Wow...I fell into the water and the detail of the coral underwater is amazing. I haven't seen anything like that. Cool stuff. If the game has a good story, I'll buy it.

The demo itself is fun. There's minor things that bother me: There's only two sounds when swimming. Footsteps sound bad when running on the street (sounds like high heels clicking on a floor or something). Car engines and other sounds also sound bad.. but I enjoyed the demo. I think it'll make a solid rental.

I had fun playing this game. My only complaint is the AI. The enemy helicopters can't seem to avoid crashing into stuff. The effects in this game are pretty sweet.

I thought it was OK. The driving and parachute bits were pretty good, the gun battles didn't seem all that exciting though, it just felt like any other 3rd person shooter in that respect. For some reason I assumed there'd be a Max Payne style bullet time dive in this game...it would spice up the shootouts a bit if there was!

try the options.

i think this game is pretty sick. I hate the way he runs. Liked it better than the saint row demo. If this game had mp, i would get it hands down first day.

This has got to be the worst game I've ever played on a console in a while. The physics are absolutely laughable. Stand there and punch a guy, my guy can't hit him and swings wildly at the air, all while floating forward (on invisible skis).

I jumped on a car. I pressed the button to get off the car. I appear on the ground flat footed, but going the same speed as the car was going. The car is no where in sight.

Why are the enemy cops facing in the opposite direction of me and allowing me to shoot them in the back (all while not even turning around)? Why do the enemies just stand idly while I blast away at them? How can I throw a single grenade, destroy a baracade and have my car (sitting right next to the baracade) be completly untouched?

This is absolutely terrible. If the clipping and controls weren't bad enough, the physics and laughable gameplay certainly seal the deal.

If this is a taste of the full version, it appears they spent too much time on the environment and not enough on the gameplay.

I did have one awesome moment, I was on a motorcycle, hit A to go to the parachute, he flew up and hooked onto the back of a helicopter then swung in, kicked the pilot out then I was able to drive that.

This game kinda reminds me of Driv3r in terms of the on-foot gameplay :/

I thought it was decent. It sure looked a lot better in the trailers and such. My complaint? When you hit the stunt button while in the Helicopter your guy jumps out and hangs from the back of the heli. When you make him get back in he jumps right through the Blades of the copter. Shouldn't he be sliced up? :)

Pros
+Great FPS (puts Oblivion to shame although it has less foilage)
+Great Underwater effect, light shining through looks great
+Sky Diving is pretty cool
+Ghost Ride it up!
+Some areas look really beautiful with the use of some great Shadows
+Can see AMAZING distance (Go in Heli all the way up, crazy)
+Map looks huge
+Some nice explosion effects

Cons
-AI sucks (Cops follow you off of a cliff, guys run into explosions ect.)
-Most vehicles are clunky
-Parachuting can be buggy
-Floral/Tree Loading clearly visible
-Missions lack any fun
-Everyone shoots at you were ever you go
-Boats go towards you for no reason...
-Guns/Aiming is a mess
-Looks stupid when you hop between cars and other vehicles
-Menu sounds are louder than game sounds
-Melee is useless and hard to do
-Overall Controls are AWFUL
-Footstep + Swimming sounds are repetitive
-Crappy Collision detection

Final Score (Out of ten.)
Graphics: 9.1
Gameplay: 6.3
Control: 3.5
Sound: 7.5
______Overall: 6.1

Are you fucking kidding me? This game is not an FPS in any sense of the word!

Saint's Row isn't all that special when it comes to handling either. I remember handling a car was piss-poor for SR, at least compared to GTA.

The only time I was having fun with this game was when I rode the motorcycle to a top of a hill/mountain ....speed off it and than parachute down.

I think it's pretty fair myself. The open areas are impressive, especially with the buttery smooth framerate and absolutely no loading times between areas. The driving and flying were fun, but the foot sections were only so-so. Shooting feels week. Did anyone else have trouble even knowing if they were killing people?

I felt the same way about the ground parts--- The weapons themselves don't really have that kick, nor do the enemies have the reactions that would make it seem like they're getting shot. Also, I don't know if it was made easier for the demo or what-- but everyone seemed to die if I just kept hitting LB and the RT, nothing was really putting up a fight or even damaging my health.

The Helicopter part is cool-- and so are the stunt performances on the cars- I just wish you could do a little more to the vehicle that you jump to, drop a grenade in or something.

Parachute off a Motorcycle is pretty pimp though.

Gave the demo another chance last night and got a little more out of it this time around. There's a lot of potential here, but the minor flaws can add up really quick.

I got totally confused at the helicopter part. I could not locate the enemy and I just kept getting blown up. Are there more than one chopter in the air besides the main target?

I dont even like racing/driving games, but test drive unlimited was alot more enjoyable than this. I do like the tropical setting of just cause though, but that's it really.

I played this demo for like 1 minute, then my 360 died and I got the 3 red rings of death..........................
