If Josh has his way, you'll have both! Getting a $20 coupon with L.A. Noir is confirmed. The free game portion is a bonus to the promotion that he's trying to have green lighted. (Or is it blue lighted?)

sorry if this as been answered before, but are these deals in an ad? also, has anyone had any luck price matching these prices a best buy? i'd buy at Kmart, but gift cards have to be used.

FTR i tried searching and i kept getting an error.
I called Warner after everyone brought it up and next week (5/8) Ill be running it at $39.99.
Wait so mortal kombat will be 39.99 the week after the portal sale?
I called Warner after everyone brought it up and next week (5/8) Ill be running it at $39.99.
Thanks a lot for the efforts. But I believe most people will buy it from TRU only $30 using the coupon next week.

Looks like I know where I'm picking up my Motorstorm! Will the stores already have the game come Tuesday morning?

If TRU actually has copies on hand . . . I checked online (both PS3 and 360 versions) and many stores are OOS, others have a small# of copies which could sell out pretty quickly once the sale starts. Unless TRU restocks this game (questionable), it might just be very hard to find for that sale.
Mortal Kombat at TRU.

Good: Kitana DLC, $10 cheaper
Bad: can NEVER trade it in
I'm taking it you've switched exclusively to Amazon for trade-ins and have them on the brain. You could always trade it back to TRU or GS.
Please do not do this just yet :) I'm giving you all an update on my thoughts on where this is going, it is not confirmed yet!
I understand, but I, we believe in you Josh! :)

Why can't you trade it back in?

There's plenty of people here sitting on $15 or $35 coupons or Rewards points that would make that a cheaper purchase from kmart than from TRU.

Yeah, I just assume nobody trades into TRU and Gamestop since they give much less than others.
Why can't you trade it back in?
Amazon and BB won't take it because the Kitana DLC is in an exclusive TRU package and I think (99.9% sure) that it has a difference UPC.

Sometimes that happens but not always.

They can do exclusive DLC in the package but have the UPC be universal across all retailers, I think. There's no reason that the UPC code has to be different. It just was in the Enslaved kmart copy.

Can't disagree but if anyone has a coupon, gift card, or points use it may work out. Technically Warner is not supporting anything outside of the save 20. I actually wonder if TRU realized how they were combining the offerl

I've never used TRU and I haven't used GS in a long time. I usually only use them when I have something incomplete that Amazon won't accept. They have some decent trade-in prices if you wait for the right deal, but I just don't like being stuck with GS credit.

but it is. someone confirmed that already.

ah okay. buyer beware then. I think MK is a keeper though. Never trading that one in.

The copy of the game that comes in the TE and KE editions is a standard edition of the game with the universal UPC. But the outer packaging of the TE and KE have different UPCs/sticker UPCs for the different retailers. Also I saw the PS3 version from Kmart, BB, and TRU - all 3 are different UPCs. Kmart's is probably the standard UPC b/c they did not have any exclusive DLC's.

I got Mortal Kombat at launch and I'm already bored with it.
Story mode was waaaaay to long, and the servers are broken.
Fun, just not lasting....

no, you're missing the point. the STANDARD version of the game at TRU has a different UPC than the standard. Since Amazon and BB go by the default UPC code (BB sometimes adds a second upc for their gameS), you can't trade in the TRU edition to those places.

Are you talking about the PS3 version only? Because the XBox version at TRU doesn't have the Kitana outfit . . . and I think it has a standard UPC. I just did some research and found the same UPC for the 360 version I got (mine from TRU) at Microcenter.

Depends on if you time it right with the right promo at GS, but the tiv's for TRU just suck across the board. Plus some stores are no longer even selling the used games they're taking in because 'they weren't selling' according to a couple managers I've talked to.

They would've sold if they priced them competitively, but when you're wanting $39.99 used for a game like MAG when the current MSRP for it new is $29.99, then yeah you're not going to get the more knowledgeable customers suckered in.

As for a BB trade-in, they can(and have) looked up the game manually and given me the same tiv as if I had the 'correct' UPC. You just have to get an employee that's not lazy to do so.

 Now I've seen it all, someone complaining about a LONG single player game. If anything, I like my games to last at least 8-10 hours for a single single player runthrough. So MK will keep me occupied for a long time to come, especially the challenge tower with it's 300 levels.

Although I still wish game devs would put their own online log-in system/lobby to their servers right on the disc for games, so you're not stuck playing single player in the event of another PSN crash sometime in the future. Not that it's been a bad thing for me, as I've been having an absolute blast with MK. I played it for 5-6 hours last night and finished about half of the story mode. I would've liked to have been able to explore the game world on my own a lil bit(ala MK Deception last gen) with whichever character I'm currently using, but maybe they'll do that in the next MK game.

then your TRU must have run out of the exclusive ones. The xbox version I saw lat night has a little sticker on the front with kitana on it and someone else reported the UPC was different from the standard one, which is 883929158324 (and tradeable to amazon.)

I think you're right, my UPC is 8 83929 15832 4, same as the standard one you mention (and I don't see the sticker) . . . I thought the Kitana costume was only for the PS3 version. No big deal, but its a bit strange that my copy isn't one of the TRU exclusives.

It could just be that the games initial print run received the DLC vouchers and that copy is from a second run. I say that because the TRU website has the Kitana DLC thing listed in its listing for it on there for the 360 version.

Here's hoping that amazon PM's Portal. I have a credit and it'd save me a little money. If not though, I may have to drive and get one still, closest one to me is 20 miles away. With gas at $4 a gallon, that's an extra 10 for me plus the tax...but I could maybe pick up a Mother's Day gift while I'm out too to justify the trip :)

You're right, but strangely TRU has this UPC info on their website for the 360 version:

Item #: 640075
SKU: 0D70E453
UPC/EAN/ISBN: 883929158324
Manufacturer #: 1000170044

Very strange!

Edit: My copy did come with a sealed "Game Content Download" voucher, but it mentions the "Kombat Pass" for online play . . . I haven't opened it yet, is this the Kitana voucher?

Edit2: Is there no real manual for this game? All I got was a "Katalog", a sealed voucher, and a tiny booklet with generic info about XB.oOx live, no manual. Did they skip the manual for this game?

there is a 4 page manual in addition to the katalog . it's pretty flimsy. 4 page = 2 sheets = 1 folded sheet. the game content download is the Kombat Pass Code.

And I'm not surprised that TRU has that as the trade in because they outsource to Gamers Factory. And Gamers Factory uses the generic upc.

Which is funny that you might not even be able to trade the game you bought at TRU back into TRU.

You know, you just got me curious about this as well. It would appear that they are following Ubisoft and other companies in providing a piddily 2-3 page 'foldout' that tells you how to start a game with no real instruction manual.:bomb::whistle2:#

With games having so many tutorials nowadays I guess they figure they no longer need to put a real manual in there.

Wow, you're the man. I was going to wait because of my backlog but with a coupon and discount i'll have to grab that. I have it rented atm actually, its pretty deep for a western developed fighting game.

You're right, no manual (going "green", ugh). I checked on the Prima strategy guide on Amazon, and it gets horrendous reviews . . . missing content, mixed up move lists, tiny photos, poor writing, bad ink. What a waste! I wish Future Press had done an MK guide, it would have been 1000x better! I like having guides and move lists, its a shame there are no good ones for this game.

The worst part about the MK guide is the copout they gave for not including frame and damage data. I just keep a FAQ loaded up on my phone for quick reference. It's free and actually more accurate than the guide! :D

Yeah. That guide is only worth the penny price when it gets junked out at BB/GS due to all of the screwups in it.:whistle2:#

Any news on a Brink deal?

I haven't seen anything reported and I know it is a bit away, but if it is something good that I want to take advantage of I will save my credit for that, otherwise Portal 2 it is!

$20 gaming coupon.

Ah, thanks for the response about the Brink deal, I must have overlooked that post.

That is not too bad, I will probably just turn it into a 1600 point card then.

Is it too early to request that Kmart get the Anarchy Edition of Rage? I see that GameStop is offering it for the normal 59.99 for pre-orders. I am not sure if its an edition that will normally cost more or if its just a limited edition. Either way it would be cool to pick this up at kmart.

Frustrated.

Tried to pick up Bulletstorm at the advertised $44.99 price and it rang in as $59.99. Recognizing me as a regular customer, and taking me at my word, the guy working the electronics section discounts it to $44.99. I try to use my $15 gaming coupon and it doesn't take.

At this point, with a huge line behind me, he says he can't do anything, and I just want to get out of there.

This makes two out of the last three times I've tried to purchase a game at Kmart that I've had issues with things not ringing up correctly. The last time, I didn't get my SYWR points for Crysis 2, which was, what, $20 in value?

Curious, where are you trying to purchase the games, not all locations are circular stores, this may be the issue.
