I wish my TRU was giving away playmates, all mine had was a crack whore of the month. :booty:
Is the crack whore of the month the same as the employee of the month?

I saw a $5 coupon at target for the following lego sets -- 1.Harry Potter Hagrids Hut 2. Star Wars Cad Banes Speeder 3. Toy Story 3 Pizza Planet Truck 4. City Advent Calender 5. City House 6. Atlantis Undersea Explorer. Says offer valid at target or online. Promo code is : TCHD1036 expires 11/24/10 Its a big coupon book that has 2 kids by a christmas tree opening presents. Found it at customer ervice.
TRU Doorbuster for Friday & Saturday. B1G1 50% off excluding SW, HP & PQ. I think I might pick up the new Creator House. 40% off IJ Temple of Doom and Last Crusade sets.

Nice ... but isn't the Temple of Doom set overpriced by like $20 at TRU? Yeah, I know what you're thinking ... I still haven't picked it up .. even after I found it on clearance at Target for $68 and then took it back ;)

Series 3 has been cracked!!

Thanks to that guy from the FBTB forum:

Deciphering the code is based on a series of minuscule raised bumps embedded in the heat sealing band at the bottom. They are near impossible to see in most situations but once you match up several packs you will see the pattern. It is 100% accurate despite some quirks such as how the gorilla is coded and the accuracy with with you need to have between a few of them as well as not all of them having as deep a dot as others. The Indian Chief and Samurai are among the toughest to code.

So the 40% off the Indi set is this weekend? I'm thinking about getting a third set, I really like the track and mine cars it has. I might pick this with with a Pirates Soldiers Fort.

EDIT: Also, I have to take a look when ever I get a hold of series 3 figs but all I have to say is wow! I wonder what Lego is going to do next time, well I'm guessing the same thing since I'm assuming there already in production.

Does anybody know of any "how-to" guides for making the new Hogwart's Express work with power functions? And do they sell power function pieces in store or online only? If "Santa" could power this thing up X-mas morning, that would be very cool.

does anyone know of any coupons for SOH. I am thinking about getting the Holiday Toy Shop & Bakery, I would love to save a little money.

For those of you who do not want to buy 2 of Hogwarts Castle at Target this week, or for those of you who have had a difficult time finding them in stock, BN currently offers a free membership in their Kid's Club. After a couple of days you will receive an email with a 30% off coupon. The code is H4W9V7M and that code is activated immediately after sign up. The total comes to about $91 plus tax, with free shipping. I figured this out because my wife and I have separate accounts on there and I signed her account up and used my old coupon code for Hogwarts. Here is the link to the castle with a link to the kids club on that page. Sorry for the funny fonts, I pasted the code and it fucked it all up.

TRU code to do the BOGOHO sale online is 941747. unfortunately i fell asleep and missed out on getting the winter bakery half-off. plenty of choices still available, though. public transport set, medieval village, king's castle...

Yep, I can't believe I missed out on the bakery and toy shop. Really rempted to order the Scorpion Pyramid and Medeval Village. Also was thinking about getting the Toy Story Train, but there is nothing good to pair it up with. You can get 2 for 102 +tax though, which seems like a pretty decent deal.
edit: well screw all of that, I'm going for the king's castle x2. 127.48 for 2 of them seemed like a great deal, I guess I will hang onto one of them to sell at a late date. With that, and my now complete collection of the new HP sets, I really need to be done buying LEGOS for awhile.

fwiw, they didn't have the winter bakery listed on the site last night; i mis-typed - it was the toy shop i was going to get. i tried pulling the trigger a little early on the sale (figuring it was tomorrow somewhere...) but didn't work .. and was too lazy to stay up till midnight to make sure i got the toy shop.

oddly, they had the chrome stormtrooper listed as "in stock" last night but unavailable for purchase - for promotion only. then this morning it's listed as out of stock again.

I really want the medieval village but don't know what else to get with it. I wish it was available in the stores so I could just pick it up with cash.

I ended up buying 3 TODs also. 2 at Target for $45 each and 1 at TRU for $65 with coupon deals and the 30% off sale a few weeks ago (although I am having them adjust that to the 40% off price today and save a few more bucks). $60 is a nice price for this set. Even if you only want another set for parts, the Mola Ram minifig sells for about $20 on eBay last time I checked (who needs more than 1 Mola anyway?), so if you sell off Mola, you are essentially getting all the other pieces for only 40 bucks. I'm using my extra track pieces and mine cars for a Dwarve's Lair MOC.

I knew LEGO would have to have some way to distinguish them at the factory. Otherwise some cases could end up having all Gorillas or something...not that that would be all bad though, for those who want to recreate a scene from Tarzan in LEGO. ;)
you could buy 2 and have a medieval mega-village .. or save one to sell after they discontinue the set
I wish I had the $ to do that, I think my husband would be very mad.

I'm thinknig about going to TRU, but I hate them so so much, to get two of the small Pirate sets. I then checked S@H and most / all of the Pirate sets are still listed. I have a feeling they will probably be part of the "Brick Friday" (Black Friday in case you are stupid) sale. I hope it's good this year because S@H has had next to nothing on sale for months.

Wow, I never even saw this set on clearance. At this point, I don't think I'll be buying it for more than $50.

They posted a review of the pyramid on eurobricks. That set is crazy expensive at $100 for 792 pieces. That's more expensive than the Akator IJ set and that had more pieces AND was licensed.
I wish I had the $ to do that, I think my husband would be very mad.
i try to explain lego math to my husband but he just doesn't understand! ;)
I know my wife is going to be mad at me
that one's for the kids!

that's my birthday/easter/christmas/arbor day present!

i haven't bought lego in months!

that one was on clearance!

that one's an investment!

that one was a trade! (i traded money for it...)

I would say the medieval village is for the kid but my kid is not interested in this set. I guess I have to try and convince the 9 year old boy that he will like it. But he would rather have star wars sets.
me too! :D

if you come up with any new ones, i could use them...
I come up with some insane excuse like LEGOs are made from a byproduct of oil and we are running out of oil, so we need to stock up now because it's too late. Rant on for several minutes and go "In 25 years the collection will be worth billions!"

It usually works because after a little while the person stops caring.

When is Star Wars going to end? Is 2011 the last year under the current contract?

Thanks for pointing out the B1G150% off coupon! It ended up stacking with the public transport and the king's castle and I got it all for $130 after a $5 gift card I received a while back.

"It belongs in a museum" ?

Oh wait ..

Picked up 2 Temple of Dooms for $90 at TRU, but did not seen any new sets. However, the Lego store had all the Pharaoh Quest stuff as well as the creator cabin and robot.

WOW! I just received an email from EE that they are now taking pre-orders for Series 3 and the wholesale price for a case (2 boxes of 60) is now $295.10!!! WTF? Series 1 was $185 a case and Series 2 was $195 a case. $295?!

Screw that. I'm sure these will be everywhere, but with the new method of decoding these, I just hope I'm not stuck with Aliens.

I know buying Mega Bloks is probably akin to blasphemy but I found a Spiderman v Dr. Octupus set at Ross for 7 bucks.

Personally I don't think Mega Bloks aren't too bad but their minifigs are garbage.

ppl on other sites said they were able to order some pharaohs sets for the TRU BOGOHO sale online even though they were supposed to be excluded.

You're right. They don't show up under "NEW" legos, but if you do a site search for 'pharaoh' they show up. And they work with the coupon. I might return the $60 temple of doom for credit and then spend it tonight before the coupon runs out.

I thought I said I was done buying legos this year.

I picked up a box of Series 3 MFs at Fred Meyer this morning. They had to pull one from the back because the shelf space was empty. The toy person said that they only put out one box at a time now because with the last series, some jerk kept grabbing the sealed boxes that were sitting on top of the shelf as overstock and then scanned them for only $1.99 /box at the self-scan checkouts!!! The barcode was also cut out on the back of the box that she gave me. At least they finally did something about their theft problem! I was also able to use a 10% off toys coupon to bring the price down even more than $1.99. I think Fred Meyer is one of the few stores that never mark up their LEGOs over retail price. And with the frequent sales, I gotta say its probably one of my favorite stores to shop at. Where else can you pick up LEGOs, a CD, a pair of shoes, and a gallon of milk all in one trip? :D Now I have to use the cheat sheet to figure out who is who, because I probably won't keep all of them. This wave is pretty "meh". I only want 1 or 2 of each, except for the Elf. I like castle themed stuff the most, so I will want a decent amount of elves to hang out with all my dwarves. I'm not sure if I want a whole baseball team or not...who would they play? The Gorilla-suit dude is one of my favorites, detail-wise: there is a zipper on his back and the minifigure head under the gorilla mask is sweating! It made me think about that unlucky guy in the movie Trading Places.

This works! I just did it on the flying mummies set. Just search "PHAROAH." These seem to have their real, pre-TRU-tax price. Hmm..the Kingdoms Castle and the Pyramid would make a nice bogo combo. Get on it before they shut it down!

Went to the loval TRU and picked up the Log Cabin and the IJ Canal Chase. Threw in the PQ Golden Staff Guardians to get the free playmat. Also decided to get the jester and wizard to go with the castle I have coming in the mail. My LEGO collection has really gotten out of hand in the last week or two.
edit: also noticed at Target that they have some impulse sets in the Christmas section. Mini X-wings and TS Army Men were 2.99, then there was a world racers boat and something else I am forgetting for 3.99. In the checkout lanes there was also a little helicopter for 3.99.

Wish there was another distributer which would just pay actual cost. I'd love if Lego would just sell a box. $120 isn't that much, they have had sets higher than that.

I might have to bite and buy one from EE for $160 (If they don't jump up the price). It's a hefty markup, but I can easily trade away the ones I don't want and break even.

Is there anyone else that would sell boxes at around MSRP?

Yeah that's great, picked up a $50 and a $30, I didn't want a pair of the $50 plus had to get over 49 for free shipping.

I really wish there was a FM around here. I doubt TRU will have the minifigs anytime this month... but I'll keep looking.

Think Target will actually have a box...

That and borders... that's like all I can find that would have them.

Ouch, this B1G1 coupon was nasty on my wallet. Grabbed 2 castles, 2 log cabins (Plus a throw-in to reach free shipping), and 2 each of the new police boat and command centers through the website. Didn't intend to order the extra police stuff but I put an order in Friday and never got a confirmation. As of 11pm last night still no confirmation so I re-ordered. This morning sure enough I have the confirmation and it's too late to cancel. Oh well instant Christmas gifts. heh.
Ouch, this B1G1 coupon was nasty on my wallet.
same here. i had to go back for the cabins. now i need to stop buying lego for awhile and work on rationalizing my purchases.
