Holy sh!t. Lego just called me to tell me that eventhough we didn't win the monthly minibuild contest for the US, they are going to use our model for Europe!!! Since they don't celebrate turkey day in November, they thought our acorn model would work great there. I can't wait to tell my daughter. She is gonna go nuts!

What a horrible pun.
WOW...what nonsense. But at least you won't have to drink so much tea. :)

I like tea, but I usually drink herbal teas that have little to none in the way of caffeine.

That's extremely awesome! Congrats. Are they giving you any kind of prize?

Barnes and Noble coupon won't work on legos...tried it, and you beat me posting it Jaymatik. :) Looks like they added some disclaimer on all the legos saying no additional discounts, unless expressly stated...blah, blah.

But works on other toys...bought something for the nephew, signed up for the free 2 month B&N membership (which you can cancel online), got free shipping, and 10% cb from shopathome.com.
I can't speak for online transactions, but I just used 1 coupon during lunch and was able to get #7590 - Woody and Buzz to the Rescue for $10.90 after tax. I love the pull back feature on RC!

Has anyone had any luck finding more than one fisherman per box?

I had to make two complete sets again today and I could only find the one per box like I mentioned before.

Congrats to encendido5 for the baby on board and husher180 for the mini build! Just out of curiosity do you have a pic of what you guys made?

@prim4444, I have a full box I haven't opened all the bags other than the complete set I made for myself and a few duplicates I opened by mistake on my own. If I have time later I'll see if I can make out what all of them are, I've put 2 extra gorillas to the side, those were the easiest to make out at least for me. I kept on messing up on the Race Car Driver and Tennis Player, they are very similar to other ones if you don't watch the dots.

looks like BN has clamped down on all the awesome 33%-off kids club goodness, and i guess their regular coupons won't apply to lego anymore either - boo.

i'll definitely give it a try in-store, jay, thanks!

i found the dots impossible to read on some of the S3 figs. we exchanged some today and accidentally got 3 indians .. thought one was the elusive fisherman. we did manage to snag an elf, and he is *awesome*. my other fave fig is the snowboarder. :)

Ha, I didn't do that on purpose. But you're right, that was bad.
That's extremely awesome! Congrats. Are they giving you any kind of prize?
I believe the Lego rep said they were going to give us the same prize as the US winner...$100 giftcard and the entire minibuild collection. She also gave me her email and phone number so that we could eventually get a copy of the European Lego calendar that has our model. My daughter has been practically floating around the house tonight saying how she is going to be famous in Europe. My son on the other hand cannot fathom how he didn't win. I get the feeling I'll be mailing him a 2nd place prize from "Lego".;)

I'll post one soon.

The box I opened had two.

Ahahahaaha. You are such a nice dad. :)

So, where are they giving out this calendar?? Maybe I can score one here....

Btw, I'm gonna have family use the B&N coupon in stores...but how's the selection at the stores? Stocked with legos? My family is already not too keen on going lego shopping, so I'm trying to minimize my requests, bc they won't be happy if I waste their time. Have a gift card burning a hole in my pocket......

Hey Jay, do they ask for your kids club account card? I just signed up, so don't have the card, but have the number....

cutie, it looks like that coupon is for non-members. and lego selection at b&n stores is very ymmv. mine doesn't have any in the kid section but instead they're scattered around the store -- architecture sets in the adult game section, HP sets in a big display of HP books and merch, SW sets in a similar big display of SW stuff.
if you or a small child you know are into duplo, you can get the duplo large brick box (set 5506, msrp $29.99) for $29 at walmart *with* a free $20 e-card (must be spent online) and free ship to store or .97 to your house. sounds like a good deal.

I bought the one got replaced by this on clearance at Target for around $12 but this is a pretty good deal itself! Now that I think about, I did most of my daughters Christmas shopping in January.

You don't have to signed up to any of their memberships to use the coupon. I've used 2 already.

You can, however, use the Kids Club card to earn purchases towards your rewards.
Thanks guys....will send my mom to B&N.

Another deal....walmart selling construct a zurg for 10 bucks...97 cent shipping.

Gonna pass...don't really need this.
Forget needing it. I don't think anyone wants its it. That's why it's $10!

It's not even good for parts...

You get an alien figure right?

But yeah not a good set

So my TRU had like 6 CASES, so 12 boxes come in on Tuesday, they were all out come Wed... WTF.

Next, the USB drive, all sold out by Wed. WTF

And now I just called to see what they had for shipments and nothing.

I want these damn things, Lego is NOT making enough!!!!!

Target and WM need to start carrying these, Lego needs to know there are people out there still not getting minifigs.

target's got some sets 32% off (and random others on diff amts of sale - 15, 20, 25%)

32% off -

wampa
lego city truck
atlantis gateway of the squid

free shipping on most sets

the atlantis brickmaster book is 29% off with free shipping, but these are available at borders with the 40%-off coupon, and they've been spotted at costco for $16.

Yeah that's this week's sale, so if you want the sets buy them before Target closes tomorrow night.

they're for sale online, and if you click through retailmenot or coupon cabin or any other coupon-type site, you can get an anemic additional $5 off $50.

Scanned a few local Meijers the last few days. Two had zero minifigs. One had a few of series 1 and 2. One had 4 boxes of series 3. And two had tons of series 2 and no series 3. finished up my samurai and elf armys. dont want to wait and see what crazy prices other stores will charge when they get them. if they get them.

EE just had their pre-orders for non-wholesalers. $175 big ones... which is less than what TRU is charging, but they want to charge $21 for shipping, yikes.

Had to order one because I don't think TRU is getting any more since they sold out of 12 boxes.

And Borders doesn't have any, and I don't have a Meijer anywhere.

Lego is NOT spreading the love.

so sad....

Is that fisherman figure that rare? I finally found some wave 3 and used the b1g1 50% off coupon Thursday to buy 16 of them. I didn't bother with the dots, just grabbed a bunch off the shelf. I didn't do badly. 10 uniques, 6 doubles. 2 fishermen in the lot. No elves though which are the ones I wanted most for my giant fantasy setup.

I almost wish all these monster sales would stop. I think I've put in $600 or so in lego this month. And I KNOW if I run across more minifigs I will buy more. Yep I have no willpower. I threw my Lego Arkham Asylum up on eBay just to cover the cost of all the other crap I've been buying.

Damn TRU. I'm hired for three weeks, I worked one night last week and only scheduled to work two nights this week! At this rate i may make 40 hours by Christmas Eve!
Yep. Free little NinjaGo sword holder.
My son and I went to the TRU event and he got to build a little sword holder and to play with the ninjago minifigures and game. It was not busy at all. A few kids came over to try. Some kids opened it and left the pieces on the table the guy said I could take them. We got stickers and head bands. My son liked it a lot and played for a long time. They had ninjago starter sets out in the aisle. Somebody tried to buy it and they would not them, they were $19.99. I was looking and holding a set .Then a guy came by and took them all away. I gave him the one I was holding. Anybody else go? They had 2 boxes of minifigures, nobody seemed to care about them. I already had at home so I did not care either.

Wait, so TRU had a promotional event for Ninja Go but you couldn't buy any of the starter sets?

Yep. Isn't that the dumbest thing you have ever heard? I actually blame LEGO for not releasing the sets sooner.

Local TRU has the minifigs but didn't pick up any as it is $4.49 each. Even with the $10 off $50 coupon, it is still about $3.70 each, if I buy enough (12) to use the coupon. :)

$4.49?!?! Wow, none of those figures are worth that.

Kinda disappointed in how some of the series 3 figures look.

My Elf's ears are poorly painted and the Fisherman looks like he's been left out in the sun too long (faded and/or bad decal).

Was it an unlucky grab or is this similar to what everyone else has seen?

Really liked the Gorilla Suit Guy, Cyborg (Go Blacktron) and Rapper.

They are made in China so thats what to expect. I have heard that they are actually better than series 1 and 2 through, but I'm not an expert.

Right on, thanks!

I went to Borders today and they had a box of series 2 minifigs. I already have those though so I didn't bother looking through them.
