LEGO Deals
Not true. ALL LEGO stores are regular stores and all have different sales according to what their inventory looks like. Some stores are in areas where a certain product line is selling better than other stores. The stores that don't fair well in moving old inventory will most likely put them on sale or if there is a big amount transfer to a store that can easily sell them.

Just because Ontario Mills was once considered an 'outlet mall', doesn't mean all stores in the mall are outlet types. LEGO isn't an outlet store there. If that was the case then all or the majority of products you would see in that store would be older inventory and priced below MSRP.
You're right that all Lego stores are regular stores, but some offer outlet pricing and serve as outlets for Lego merchandise. You can tell which ones by looking at the website descriptions for each store...ones that say "outlet pricing available" at the end are outlet stores. I've been to three Lego stores - Ontario mills, CA - Potomac mills, VA - and Discovery mills, GA - and all three offered items for sale the the regular stores don't stock or sell for less than retail. I have two stores each about an hour and half away from me but I never go to the "regular" one because they never have any deals. The outlet one always has "damaged" box deals and usually all the website clearance stuff.

A few days ago, Lego.com had the new Power Miners mistakenly priced at 5.00....I had them in my cart, but took too long to purchase it!!! Looks like some people might be getting their orders, but limited to one....lucky, lucky!!
Many years ago I got a $130 remote control car for $8 from LEGO.com.

An error? They honored it? Most websites just say "whoops, we fucked up" and then cancel your order.

He's talking about the Limited Edition 10th Anniversary poster that was free with purchase from S@H. It had all the SW minifigs on it. I sold mine on eBay for $55. They were only available for a day and a half.

The Power Miner sets that were accidentally clearanced were the Rock Wrecker ($34.99) and the Crystal King ($19.99) they were posted into "Sales and Deals" at $4.98 each. I bought them both as fast as I could. The links were gone about 30 seconds after I finished my order. So far I've gotten my "Thanks for your order" email, but not my "Your LEGO sets have shipped" email. Fingers crossed.

LEGO honors it, I think it was up for about 2-3 hours. They also screwed up some other things. I think LEGO will keep your order, but if you order 495 then they will cancel or make your oder down to one. I knew I should have order the City truck from 2008 or 2007 just to get that stupid ass Star Wars poster. Star Wars fans are losers!

Omg! Man...I'm really slipping!! I was going to order that day for the poster, but I never got to it....really regretting that!!!!!!! I can't believe the poster went for so much!! I need a good sale to make me feel better.

Btw, I thought the Brickmaster subscription was limit 2 per addy...now it's limit 1?? It says "Limit 1 per customer"....not one per address....am I right, thinking that ordering in another person's name to same address will work??

I gotta say, I love the Star Wars fans. Their hunger for Episode I and II minifigs has financed all of my LEGO purchasing this year. I've never been an eBay guy, but those minifigs are plastic gold right now.

BTW if you are holding onto a Jango Fett, sell that puppy NOW, the new Corporate Alliance Tank comes with some "Jetpack Troopers" that are wearing a new separate Boba/Jango jetpack. I'm betting there will be new Jangos out this holiday season. So cash in Jango while he's still getting $70-100 on eBay.

It's funny that we are too cheap to buy a set we don't really need/want to get a free poster that we don't really need/want, but some retard out there is willing to drop $50 for just the poster. I'd rather be cheap than retarded.
Just curious. Are you a collector or a reseller? Or both? And what posters are you talking about? The ones the LEGO stores give out or the 10th Anniversary poster that was recently given free with a purchase on LEGO.com?
I'm mostly a collector who does some reselling on the side. I must have missed the poster rush for $55 alone, since mine went for $52 with the inclusion of a magnet 3 pack, so not quite as much profit there. It's funny how anything LEGO star wars seems to be a hot seller, but when I tried selling a power miners set and rock monster keychain I got as a gift on eBay, no one would touch them as a set and even the person who won it for some horrifically low amount ended up backing out of the deal.

LOL, agreed.

Co-sign! I've sold a decent amount of extra SW Minifigs on eBay to fund my City collection and I can't wait to get those Jetpack Troopers. I can customize!

I don't think that's necessarily the reason. I know some people who didn't know about it until the last minute when they sold out, but really wanted it. I almost missed out myself. I sold one at $60, but I'm holding onto the other 3 I have.

How did you get 3? Did you just do separate orders to same name, and they allowed it?? I'll remember that next time, when another deal like this comes around...IF it ever does again...sigh.

Just fyi for those of you blessed to be near a LEGO store, the new sets should now be in store and of course, as you know, they're also in the S@H. Damn my wallet is going to be hurting for awhile ...

Side note - does anyone on here know of a way to automate the switch tracks for the RC trains? Is there a way to set those little yellow switches up so they can be controlled by some sort of power functions contraption or am I stuck hand switching my lego tracks?

Sweet! I just got my "Your LEGO order has shipped" email--they are honoring the $4.98 Power Miners mishap!

Here's a theory; maybe it wasn't a mistake, maybe they did it on purpose so people like me would check their Sales and Deals section daily. Forever.

How long was this mistake up on the website. I check about once a day and never saw this until you guys mentioned it here.

And how about coming here and sharing the love while the deal is still active? It sounds like at least two of you guys got in on the price mistake but neither posted here until it was too late for us shmucks.

Dang, I sound bitter don't I? Congratulations on getting the deal.

Plan on going to the Lego store this Tues. for the free monthly build, it's a little sailboat I think and the kids love doing this. This month's coupon is actually good too as you get a free Assasin Droid Battle Pack for spending $50.

LEGO always honors price mistakes.

And I agree, you couldn't share the info sooner? "I got these sets for $5, but I'll brag about it 12 hours after the fact". You couldn't order the sets and then tell everyone else?

I was about to post the info here, I almost posted here first, then ordered, but I thought I'd better get them while I could.

As soon as I completed checkout, I clicked back to see if they were still there, one of them was already removed, and the other had a "Call to check availability" on it. I refreshed to see if it would switch back and it also disappeared. They were both gone 30 seconds or so after I completed my purchase. Those two sets didn't even show up in the Power Miners section until the following day.

Sorry, though, shoulda posted anyway.

well it would be nice if we can get a widget from Google to monitor a site and see if it has any updates.

They guy stated it was a short window... minutes... but if this was longer, an hour... even I'd be upset to not hop on the deal.

4.95 PM would be nice.

Cheap LEGOs are always nice ... but these are the power miners sets we're talking about here ... I'm not losing any sleep. Now if someone can figure out when Target's going to start clearancing their older sets, I'm all about that.

On the other deal site, it said the deal was up for 2 hours. I got exactly on the tail end of it....1 minute, and by that time, screen froze, refreshed, and Lego fixed the error!!!!! Grrr!!! But yes...it would have been nice if someone had posted it in time. I will post if I ever come across another price mistake again....fingers crossed!
For $5 I want the minifigures.

Also it seems it was up for 2 hours. :)
Aww two hours... damnit.

yeah Power miners are meh, but it was $5!

I totally would have hopped on it. might have added more too... throw in a 5 off 25 or something and called it an order.

Should be anytime now I'd say. Especially since all these new sets are coming out in other stores.
Those things suck.

LEGO puts 50 bricks into a fancy box and charges $20 for them. Also the pricing in the article is wrong, the museum is $40 and Fallingwater has twice the pieces so it's most likely $80.

Here's a review of the tiny little set...

http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=29434&hl=architecture
Ah man that is expensive, and the boxart makes it look so much cooler than it does when built.

Yeah, the first wave of them had about 70-80 pieces for $20. No special pieces or minifigures or anything expensive. LEGO is making a killing off those sets.

You know what's weird, I have 8 Targets in my area that are well within 10 miles or less from each other and each one has put different sets on clearance or some don't even clearance some sets.

There are Legos other than Star Wars...hhmm, weird.

Stopped at a Walmart this morning waiting for a prescription and looking at toys with my son...they still have Bionicles on clearance! That big red one that was $80 is $25, and a smaller blue set that was $30 and is now $13. Decent prices but I just don't like Bionicles, not even cheap ones. This Walmart still has a large Lego section and they still have the Republic Gunship in stock for $118...I wonder if they will clearance it when they start getting the summer sets in stock.

Went to TRU today....bought a space police set my ds wanted....thankfully it was only 6.00. Met the Lego rep there and I asked her about any sales. She said the only thing for this month was spend 25.00?? 20.00?? (sorry, can't remember exactly), and you get a bionicle book...whatever that is.

^Spam, and it's not even Lego related

Back on topic, I hope they re-release some of the Harry Potter sets when the game comes out in 2010. My wife and I are big HP fans so if we could get our hands on some sets, that would be sweet.

Has anybody seen this yet? Looks like a pretty cool Christmas set:

Got our May/June lego mag today....was reading about Lego Club wkd at Legoland in CA for Lego club members.

Last paragraph says: "...Get 1/2 pound Pick a Brick free when you buy one pound."

Isn't PAB sold like in a bucket or something, or do they normally sell it by pound? Do they ever have any good deals on PAB? Also, I read somewhere that people connect the bricks and then stick it into whatever the container is....employees don't give you flack for that, right?

We're going to the lego store at disney world, so I was wondering in advance......

In Europe they have PAB by the pound, but in the USA you get a cup.

No one cares what you do to the bricks to fit them in a cup, as long as the lid can somewhat fit on top. :)

PAB used to be a good deal, but recently the pieces have sucked or been way too big to fit any real amount into the cup.

And if I spell cub I mean cup, I've lost my mind. :)

The Christmas set is nice, but as a jew.... I think the set will cost so damn much ($70) that it won't be worth it.

thanks bigdaddy. I found this thread too...on how to stuff the cups.

http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=27795&st=0

Wish they were still doing the fill a tub for 100 bucks...much better deal.

Anyways, I was also reading up on Lego birthday deal...has anyone done a take home Birthday deal?

Starts at 115.00 for up to 10 children, each get a goodie bag, and a 5.00 off 35.00 coupon, and you get a 100.00 gift card to use on sets.

So, if I get this and have a small birthday party, I can use the leftover 5.00 off 35.00 coupons (since u get 10), and still have leftover money on the giftcard to buy whatever I want in the store?? Does anyone know if they are strict with what you can buy with that giftcard??

The giftcard is just like any other, you can buy whatever you want that's in the store. They don't work online through, which I find odd.

I've done pretty well with the PAB. I haven't gotten anything since that free xmas box we got. My wife and I spend 30 mins to an hour there stacking bricks and making sure we get the most for our money. They have small trees in our local PAB and we found you could stuff 3 of them in the lid. Then we work with the plates and bricks to stack as much as we can. We fill up the empty pockets with 1x1 plates and flowers.

I thought the wording implied that the gift card was to buy 10 $10 sets for the kids attending, but I could be wrong. Easiest thing would be to just call a store and ask a manager.

wow, i'm amazed...you were able to fit all that stuff in there?? You also got a lot of interesting pieces...I hope that the Disney World lego store has the same....I read somewhere they have the largest selection of PAB, I think.

Just a heads up, if you still have clearance lego from Walmart and you're looking to unload them, now may be a good time. On ebay, the King's Castle Siege is up to $70 + 10 shipping avg and the Dwarve's Mine is up to $60 with free shipping avg.

Looks like it's a seller's market again since a lot of people already dumped theirs for a quick buck and they're getting harder to find. The Dwarve's Mine doesn't even appear on the Lego website anymore and the King's Castle is backordered.

Another crazy one is the Skeleton Tower. I thought I paid a lot buying one for $60 back in February, but they're selling for $100 shipped now!

Not the Tower is gone from all major retailers.

And Dwarve's Mine was a $60 set to begin with, I got mine for $45, not a huge profit there. Of course I told my mom to buy doubled of the IJ sets that were on clearance... she didn't listen.

Yeah, I got my Tower from ebay before the prices started going up.

The Mine was $21 at some point. I got 2, one for me and one to sell to pay for my habit :)
I still have that mangled Temple Escape set, but looks like I'll be holding on to that for a little longer.
