They have plenty of baseball cards at Walmarts and Targets. The problem is now they cost $5 for 10 cards instead of 50 cents for 20 cards.
7-11 has them too.:)

If I have the chance to buy a box, I'm not going to be hesitant one bit.
Maybe some good news...

Someone in Europe got a new mystery minifigure. It seems there is an item number on the back of the bags that might actually be different for each minifigure.
Yeah, but I think the guy who posted the figure on EB's main page said that the packages he was looking at all had the same number and different figures in them ... so it may not be quite so easy, I guess time will tell. Good news is that there should be at least 3 of each figure per box, with some having 3 and some having 4 per box ... this is what someone reported at Eurobricks so it's not confirmed to be 100% true but it seems to make sense.

Late night note - damn I wish they would bring back the Adventurer's line ... I was out of my LEGO phase when they first released and now they're crazy expensive but still look really cool.

Question for you guys, I might have an opportunity to grab the Dino Research Compound (#5987) and Amazon Ancient Ruins (#5986) for $80 each ... 1st is mib, 2nd is in box but box is damaged ... what do you guys think? Worth the $$?

I saw that too, but I disregard what people there report, there is no way anyone knows that yet. When people start buying boxes then we will see how things work. I mean for 2 months people there went "The TRU City exclusive is the truck stop, see here is my proof", now they think it will be a monorail (they live in a dreamland), so I take their word lightly. Unless it's a LEGO Ambassador.

lol @ Imperial Dropship: $32.39, fulfilled by "Toy Hoarder." An appropriate name methinks.

I wish I'd gotten the Rebel pack when that set was out.

Here is my entry for the "ASS" contest. I don't think it'll win since there are some cool ones entered already, but at least it got me to build something else. I want to change the back of it too, since it looks kinda blocky.

Also some Star Bores set that's a little cheaper...

$17.54!? I thought it was a good deal at $19 with that piece count. Even better deal when you order with site-to-site shipping.
Amazon has the Clone Walker battlepack (8014) on sale; $8.54 down from $13... tempted to purchase a couple.

I would have bought a few of those at that price, but when I clicked on it the lowest was $10.80. It's amazing how quickly the prices change on Amazon.

Prim, how many of the chrome stormtroopers did your store get for the promo this week? I'm curious to know how quick the stores will be out of them.

Don't see it posted in this thread yet (although it's easy to miss things), but Toys R Us has a free chrome Stormtrooper with any Star Wars Lego purchase of $11.99 or more this week. So, just buying the cheapest set, you could get the Snowtrooper/Rebel battle pack and get a bonus chrome Stormtrooper.

^^^ Just saw that this morning. My 3 year old girl told me it was a "baby Stormtrooper".

I did not know that it was chrome, I thought it was white.

May bite on one of the cheap sets.

My store got in 40
TRU is selling the Silver Storm Troopers separately too. Here's the link: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4005255

If all you want is the trooper then you're better off getting 4 of them for those $12 that you would spend on the set.
Shipping adds another $4 on so you're looking at $16 for 4 of them. Still kind of tempting though...

Edit- Ah fuck it, ordered 4 of them anyway before el hoardo gets wind of being able to order them online. Even with the shipping its still better than having to buy a bunch of battle packs to get them in store.

You can always go all out and buy 17 which should bring the total just over $50. Then use the $10 off $50 code 935009 and it should cover the shipping, tax, and even take a dollar or two off the price.

Speaking of being out of stock, was this one of those "while supplies last" type of deals? If that's the case then whoever bought a $12 set to get the trooper might be screwed now.

I'm sure there were an allotment that was specifically just for sale, which was probably a small amount. I wished I realized they were selling them because @ $2.99 that's a steal considering the $9.99 magnet price.

I went to TRU this morning and saw this one guy buy one, then put the bag in his car and went back into the store. I'm sure he was going to get another promo.

The trouble some people go through in trying to get multiples when it comes to promos...
Rats, el hoardo got 'em before I could even order. :(
Don't worry I'm sure they will come up on eBay in a few hours for $10-$15 a piece.

Why would anyone pay that much for them? The magnet ones go for $10 at S@H, but then again I'm not into Star Wars so maybe I'm missing something.

I just noticed the magnet ones have a bigger weapon. Surely that can't make them less desirable.

Got my chrome trooper earlier (bought a second Snowtrooper BP...can never have too many Snowtroopers...they look like futuristic white supremecists! ;))

I'm pretty dissapointed in it, to be honest. There's a lot of chrome missing on mine where there should be chrome. Right behind where the arms connect on the torso, for instance, and the only way to cover it up is to put his arms all the way behind him so that he looks like he's trying to jump or dive off of something. Then the inside of one leg (not too noticeable), and if you put him in a sitting position, the tops of his legs are un-chromed as well, making it look like he has white buttcheeks or underwear showing.

Still worth it, when you consider it was free (well, $1.00 if you take the TRU overpricing of the BP into account)...though I'm glad I didn't order multiples online like some of you...though if you're reselling them sealed, it really wouldn't matter.

I just took mine out of the bag and noticed the same thing. You missed the inner part of both legs too. I wonder if these were made in China

I can't speak for anyone else but i'm not planning on selling mine. What I do want to do though is find a chrome Vader and make some kind of MOC with a chrome death squad.

They are Star Wars fans, they are losers.

And one is a regular minifigure and the Star Wars freaks spend $30 on a minifigure that can be found in a $50 set! There is no logic behind it, they are just nuts!

Surprised NY doesn't have a Lego store already, but that's good news.

My local Walmart finally got serious about clearancing their stock of Space Police Galactic Enforcers--$40! I picked one up.

My local Lego store had Vader's Tie Fighter for $17.49 so I picked that up. I think Target had it for $20 a while back (tho I could never find it) so its only a decent deal but still.

Star Wars magnet packs were about $7, what is the general opinion of these? I was thinking about getting the one for Darth Maul, I saw some posts somewhere saying the menget fig quality is not so good, but for $7....

That same Lego store had some interesting restock, like the recent X-Wing as well as Republic Gunship, both of which I haven't seen elsewhere recently.

I've been looking for a Luke's Landspeeder at Walmart recently but its sold out everytime I go. ebayers probably :bomb:

My store only gets 4 at a time and they move pretty quick. However, another store has about 20 every time I go in to look. Just keep looking, I'm sure you'll find it.

This is a thread for adults who buy expensive children's toys for themselves. The irony of one person calling another a loser is staggering. Everyone just needs to accept their inner loser and get on with it.

I see it all the time. Is it actually selling about the relatively insane pricepoint of $25?!

I still have the original landspeeder from 1999 (I think). $10 baby!

Oh wow.

http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-WARS-LEGO-...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3cab222244

There is no way this guy had them shipped to him that fast. Looks like he either went inside the store at least 11 times or hit 11 different stores to get that many.

Looks like bigdaddy was right. When I checked ebay yesterday there were only a few chrome troopers for sale and those were only the magnet ones. Today there's a page full of the TRU ones, and once TRU ship them I can only imagine there being even more for sale.

Considering you can get a set of 3 build-your-own minifigs for $10, I don't think $7 for 3 of the "cheaper" quality minifigs is really worth it unless you really need that one certain fig and don't want to buy the set it's exclusive to. I did pick up a troll battle pack for $7 and almost got a dwarf one for the same price, but the dwarves didn't look right to me for some reason. I did wish I had picked up a Pirates battle pack though...those apparently sold out.
This coming from a guy who watches Battlestar Galactica.
There is such thing as enjoying something and being insane enough to spend 75% of the price of a set on a minifigure! My point is just buy the whole fucking set for $60 (or whatever) instead of one minifigure for $35.

Which brings up my point, however all LEGOs are insanely priced now a days, which is why we are all here.

If you listen to masses at eurobricks then they'll have you believe that the magnet minifigs are of cheap quality. I'll only agree in that some of the magnets do have different printing on their legs and torso and the colors may not be exact to the ones released in sets, but I disagree that they're of cheap quality. You'll also notice an imprint of some sort in the inside of the arms. Why it's there is anybody's guess.

If you need/want the minifigs, then go for it. It's a deal especiallty since the original price was $14.99. I'm hoping they do that with the Clone Wars Magnet set. I can use Dooku's hair!

Yeah, that's a real good comparison considering when you do build your own minifigs, you pretty much get basic and boring parts.

Yeah, I guess thinking about it now, $7 for 3 minifigs is really not a bad deal. I do think the "china-plastic" controversy is a bit overblown, too. I mean, I can kind of feel and see the difference in the material, but it's not that bad to me. Of course, I'd still choose the figs in the sets over the ones that were primarily made in China, but even the set ones have bits from China and all over. It's pretty much here to stay.
Lego City Police Command Center 7743 is back in stock @ Amazon for $44.99 (FSSS).
I've got a trade-in on it's way now, why do I have a feeling the command center will go out of stock the day before I get the credit again...

The City Police HQ and Command Center transport have been brisk sellers on Amazon. I know what you're saying about waiting on credits, though--I didn't get my Amazon credit in time either and missed out on the last round of Police HQ. It's OOS right now, but I'm sure it'll come back again. I just don't know when...

Right now, I'm thinking of spending my current credits on a Star Wars Clone Wars set, but I can't decide which one. The AT-TE and Republic Attack Gunship are both available at S@H pricing right now but I can only afford one of them. I figure my credit with no tax and FSSS will makes these less of a butt-rape. Any one who likes/collects these sets have any suggestion on which of these two I should get first?

Went to TRU tonight to get a SW Battle pack and free fig. Our stores probably won't have any figs tomorrow....seems like there was only a few left.

Anyhow, they had a sign up saying that if the employee didn't ask you about batteries, etc, you get a free 5.00 TRU gift card, so my neighbor sheepishly asked the girl about it.

Well, she got red faced, and gave us a guilt trip. The manager came and gave it to us, but the employees were surely talking shizz about us. I guess if I was an employee, I wouldn't be happy with that stupid policy either...so we each got the 5.00 gift card, but I'm not sure it was worth the embarrassment.

^ You are one sick fuck, leave the poor people who work there alone.

However if it happens again you should go "If TRU's prices were NOT $5 more than Walmart or Target I wouldn't have said anything".
