Walmart was cleared out of the mine set for 21.00...so you're lucky. I did go there the other day, and they had one random (probably returned) Castle Troll ship in clearance, but priced at regular price. I know they had them on clearance before, so I just don't understand why it went back to regular price.....

Did you scan the set? Always scan the sets at Walmart.

I was lucky enough to have a great person mail be up a copy of the Tower last year. ;)

You know that reminds me... I never got around to building the Troll ship. Maybe I'll do that this weekend.

I ended up returning the Star Wars Republic ship I bought 3 months ago for $118. I scanned a few Walmarts in the area and it was either not in the system or it scanned at full price.

Yes I scanned it. :) Maybe it never went on clearance at that particular Walmart, or maybe it's like Target. Target had some Indy sets that went on clearance, then many months later, I found a set that had been clearanced (probably return?), and it was back to regular price. Go figure.

I want that skeleton tower for reg price...I can't believe I didn't even know it existed.

I've been avoiding this thread, not wanting to get sucked in, but I just found out that the nearby mall is opening a Lego store this summer. In prep for the opening I need to order a new "classic space" T-shirt to replace my worn out one. ;) Now to find an appropriate CP coupon...
wow, i'm amazed...you were able to fit all that stuff in there?? You also got a lot of interesting pieces...I hope that the Disney World lego store has the same....I read somewhere they have the largest selection of PAB, I think.
this is just a 6 foot section, they probably have 4-5 times that.

I went in Nov and they did repeat so it's not unique but they are open to almost the very top.

they had alot of colors, mostly main bricks but they did have a ton of special pieces, no plants though :(

I am heading back next year.

Make sure you check every shelf and pallet... they tend to sneak clearence stuff all over.

Dear god, I just looked and there are 2 stores coming to the Dallas area. Slightly out of my way, but the end is nigh.

I think one of them already opened. The other at the Galleria has not, and is opening in June, but grand opening in July. We're going to drive to the grand opening...is an hour before it starts early enough to be one of the first 300??

they've already hit up the houston area and now dallas. austin must be next (please god)!

I know all of you who just want a store in your area don't want to hear me complain, but I wish either the Portland or Seattle stores were an outlet (preferably Seattle). What Lego thinks we in the NW don't want sweet Lego deals?

I didn't see Galleria in the list. I saw Stonebriar and North Park.

Oops, I meant North Park....hasn't opened. Sorry. I get the names of those big malls mixed up. Are you going to drive to the grand opening too?

I have missed three grand openings to LEGO stores (because they are a pain to get to), I really wish I went for the exclusive Duplo brick.

You mean the yellow duplo with the anniversary printing on it? I saw a box full last week at Maker's Faire and couldn't push myself to ask for one ... kind of a lame exclusive to give out, but that's just me ... unless there's another duplo block you're speaking of.

I like the Duplo brick, plus it's free, however they did change it and now they are exclusive set, which I have no clue what that means.

I never realized how big the WDW store (about fifteen minutes away) was until I visited one just outside DC this weekend during our family vacation.

Note, if you have a friend or family member who works for Disney, they get a 10% discount - not bad for one of the few stores on property that sells things at MSRP.

I've noticed all the local Targets are extremely low on their stock of LEGOs, looks like a clearance is possibly on the horizon ...

TRU has all of the new stuff, and Fred Meyer has a bunch of stuff 20% off, which is usually a prelude to clearance. Soon everyone has to start making room for the new sets right?
Fred Meyer has a bunch of stuff 20% off, which is usually a prelude to clearance.
Oooh....please post when the FM clearance starts!! I tried to tell my mom to check Fred Meyer, but she's so lost with all the Legos.....I'll have to make her a list.

Well it isn't FM clearance, but I was able to get the Tower Raid, Troll Assault Wagon, Dwarves' Mine Defender and Agents Jetpack Pursuit for $42 +tax after the $10 off $50 purchase coupon. All of the sets were 20-30% off, then with additional coupon I think not a bad deal. Some IJ and Star Wars sets were also on sale, but those were all a little rich for my blood at the moment as I was not looking to spend $40 or more on one set at this time. Oh, and since I did not make it obvious this was at Fred Meyer.
Oh dang! That's a good deal! Where did you get the 10 off 50.00 coupon?? I saw one in the ad, but it said not good on toys.
If it said not good on toys I did not notice, and all the cashier did was scan it and it came off, so if you get someone not paying attention it should work.
Screw you people that have a FM!

Screw you people that have a FM and a Lego Store!

gotta make a trip to Chicago...

Got a couple of good ones yard saling today. I got the Star Wars Clone Turbo Tank and the Tie Interceptor. The kid had it priced at $15 and $5. I CIF'ed him $17 and he took it.

Not sure if all the pieces are there, but they look complete. Unfortunately the minifigs are missing from the Turbo Tank

edit: Found out the speeder and white turret are missing as well as the minifigs. The tank is pretty sweet though and looks pretty imposing with the 10 wheels.

Legos in the Toys 'R Us ad this week!

Wait, the Legos aren't actually on sale? It's just TRU telling us that they have all of the new Lego sets? Son of a...

I think the fire house is garbage.

I could make something that looks kind of like that. There is no special building techniques, no cool colors, and just a big box looking thing that doesn't fit the other CCC sets.

Just read on FBTB.net and BrothersBrick that the chrome stormtroopers that were suppose to be exclusive to LEGOLAND will now be available at most if not all LEGO stores.

I don't think it's that bad, but I am disappointed by the fire truck. For $150, I would expect to see something a little bigger.
Are there any deals on Duplo's? My little girl isn't old enough to play with regular legos.
Check Craigslist. I got roughly 800 used Duplo blocks for $50 just a couple of weeks ago at a garage sale that was listed on Craigslist. They're in pretty good shape, and there's no way I could get anywhere near that number of new blocks for that price, even with a good sale. It's always hit and miss with Craigslist, but I think you find more Duplo at reasonable prices because kids eventually grow out of them and move on to Lego.

well lego battles is everything I thought a RTS should be on the DS.

basically like other lego games, animation in the FMV is awesome.

No building though of the lego spec, but it has 6 different factions.

will take probably 50-60 hours to unlock all characters, acheivements and artwork.

definately awesome, only downside is it's 3 player multi-card play... was hoping for adhoc single card play.

My son, who just turned 4 in April, was excited about this game until I tried to show him how to play it. He just couldn't wrap his head around the idea that he couldn't shoot, punch, bull whip, batarang, or lightsaber anything. My daughter, who is 7, wasn't interested in it either.

Definitely a game for older kids.

It's a RTS and similar to Warcraft 1 than anything else.

I remember playing that when I was 10.... so sounds about right that 4 and 7 wouldn't want to play it.

and because it doesn't have bull whip/batarang, it's the best lego game so far.

Graphics are crisp as they can be, still blocky but gameplay is solid and some of the hunting for things gets tedius but the main gameplay goes fast.

I just beat Act 1 and that took me awhile, only because I was grabbing everything. Still will so it will be awhile.

I think this game should shine in multiplayer.

I'm 23 and I still have a bucket of Legos in my closet. Still play with them from time to time too.

See huge lots of them on Craigslist all the time.

Saw that Target put out the new Lego sets...Space Police, Camper, Pizza shop city one, etc. They were all on an endcap, but they are going to need room in the Lego section for when they move them there. I smell a Lego clearance coming.

Its too bad my store's Lego shelf is only one or two sets deep for a lot of them. Unfortunately for me, they have done a good job not over ordering stock when it comes to Legos and video games this year.

I'm also trying to figure out which sets will probably be going on clearance. I think the large Indy sets will clearance as they take up space and don't really sell . I can see a few of the SW sets going too like the Rogue Shadow (I thought this would have gone at xmas, but it dodged the bullet), and some of the first clone wars sets like the V-Torrent, Republic Gunship, etc. Unfortunately, I've gotten most of these sets elsewhere (thanks Walmart, for once your clearance didn't suck). I just don't see too many older sets on the shelves these days, so I wonder if the summer clearance is going to be any good.

Oh well, enough speculating. Back to waiting.

What's the prices?

I'm assuming that the 2 figure space police tiny set should be 4.99? not TRU pricing.
