LEGO Deals

I'm not sure how local Shopko is, but their Sunday ad has all toys at B1 get one 50% off.

By the way, thanks to this thread I finally broke down and got some legos several weeks back. The brickquest thing finally gave me an excuse, because I had always been asking "But what will I do with them?"
Anyone else have any cool lego game links? I'm also looking at trying some kind of Car Wars game with the Lego Racers, but for now I' collecting Castles and Pirates. Putting together Brickbeard's ship today!
When there is an actual deal then someone will post them... I know that's shocking!

Considering most of the country doesn't have Fred Meyers...
I wasn't trying to be insulting, it had just been awhile since there had been a deal anyone posted. And sure most of the country doesn't have them, but then again even less of the country has a LEGO store. Anyone in Portland, Seattle, Boise or anywhere in the NW has access to these. FM is a huge chain in this part of the country, and as a result these deals are probably easier to find than any of the Target clearance.

Well, you know Bigdaddy is one of the more sensitive members of the LEGO forum Ackbar ;-)

Managed to convince the wife to go....

3 hours later...

Picked up 3 spongebob sets ( one was from 2006!?!?!) [295 piece set for only 21.99]
And one Creator series Propeller one. Only one left that I don't have now is the blue bike.

Anyways the place didn't have any Castle sets. No new sets besides Indy and Agents. Shopko sucks.

But glad for the sale!

Looks like BJ's has gotten some sets in and they have them cheaper than MSRP.

Anakin’s Y-wing Starfighter - $49.99 - Save $10

Following $24.99 - Save $5
Shanghai Chase
Thunder Drill
Separatist Shuttle

Dunno where you're located, but the one in Racine had the Bridge Assault for Castles and I think the Dwarf Catapult and Chariot.

:(

I'm completely on the other side of the state....

I would love to get the Bridge Assault. How much was it there? Seemed like all Shopko sets were at least $2 more.

It should be $35 MSRP. I'd love to pay 25 for it instead :p

I already grabbed the Chariot. And yeah that Dwarf Catapult is old.
Not a deal, but found this online tonight and thought it might be a cool build for any current Castle fans ... I personally find it more compelling than any of the 3 sets that are necessary to build it -

http://cache.lego.com/upload/conten.../download9B53819204C03568A9EB4B3242A54A86.pdf
Kinda disturbing to see the castle people to be dragging the thing like slaves... though they do it with the big troll guys too.

saved a copy, see if I can build it once I rip open the tower raid set.
In tomorrow's ad LEGOs are b2g1, and they have an additional 10% off coupon for all home items including toys. Not a bad deal,
Hey thanks Ackbar....I have family on the West Coast, so they can go buy these for me....weee!! :) Thanks for posting the FM deals continuously, bc I never check their ads regularly, and even though my fam must get the ads, they don't pay attn.

Costco is selling the Helicopter Transport for $28 it's usually a $40 set. Orange truck with a motorcycle and heli. Looks okay, but that trailer looks like of those one-piece jobbers.

That set just came out.

Some pictures of the new Atlantis theme have come out... not good... minifigures are neat through.

And Pirates is dead, so there should be some good sales once they need to clear them out.

I'm actually kind of glad Pirates is dead ... way too many simple builds. I know it was sort of the entry-level Lego line but I remember the Pirates line when I was a kid and it had more complexity and still allowed for easy building. But hey, maybe Disney will get LEGO to put together a line for the 4th Pirates of the Caribbean film in 2 or 3 years.

Any links to those new Atlantis pics Big?

Pirates looks to be gone next summer. So it will be awhile. I picked up that transport, but haven't pay attention to it. If your ever curious on the build, or how many pieces something is made of. You can download the set instruction off lego.com. I've done that many a time before I buy something to see what they do for certain sets to see how much fun to build it would be. Or to see if the kids would have a hard time. Speaking of I'll do that before I take that transport out of the car. I got it for the kids to play with on the FM B2G1. If there is something better, I'll take it back now and get something else. I got mostly IJ sets, they had all the new ones. Been wanting them and 33% off isn't bad. Not quite like the 75% off I scored for the crawler at Target. But that was once in a lifetime.

I shouldn't double post. But does anybody have the lego store calendar for October? my closest store is over 100 miles away and I'd rather not drive if I don't have to for just a calendar. I do go once a new catalog is out to scope out what the kids want.

I forgot to post this, but the lego store in Burlington had the new City Advent Calendar for $30. They had tons of them too as of 2 weeks ago.

That's a deal! My son has been wanting that one since he first came out. Hopefully, my local Costcos will have it. I don't remember seeing LEGOs at Costco last year. Anyone?

I see them at my local LEGO store as well and I saw them last night at Borders when I used my 25% coupon to pick up a Clone Walker Battle Pack.
The most interesting part is it mentions a Lego VIP program. It looks likely to be a replacement for the stamps.
I noticed that too. You have to register for it and for every $1 you spend, you will receive 1 point. 100 points - $5 gift card. The loyalty card gives you a $30 gift card for every $400 you spend. Looks like LEGO will be giving us less. I'm sure this VIP program is going to be used to track what we buy and such. The only thing I like about the new VIP program is that it counts every $1 rather than the $25 per stamp minimum on the loyalty card.

Plus I bet you won't get the $5 reward in store instantly, you'll probably get it in the mail weeks later like TRU rewards or BB reward zone. This VIP fails. They just got rid of the last incentive I have to shop at the Lego stores. I'm $75 away from getting $30 with my stamp cards too...I wonder if they'll just tell me I'm SOL next visit.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss this program. We don't know all of the details yet. If anything, it's an improvement to those who make small purchases at the Lego Store as they seemingly will be able to earn a reward at a lower purchase threshhold ($100 as opposed to $200) and won't have to spend at least 25 bucks everytime they go in the store.

Another benefit is not having to shape your purchases into $25 increments. Under the old program, if you made 16 different $40 purchases, you would still only earn $30 in GC, even though you've spent $640 dollars. Under this new program, 16 different $40 purchases would earn you 640 points, enough for the same $30 in GC and almost half way to another $5.

No to mention there could be additional benefits that we don't know about yet, such as being able to use it for S@H purchases, or special offers for those who have the card.

(And on an unrelated note, Best Buy rewards can be printed directly from your computer, you don't have to wait for them to be mailed to you.)
It still takes 30-45 days for the purchase to clear before you get your rewards. I'm not worried about waiting 5 days for the mail.

I think some of you are spoiled.

I heard that the VIP might include S@H purchases too.

Which means the other 99% of people without a store might be able to get a perk from buying legos, and maybe curse less because a store isn't within driving range.
I just received Sunday's ad for TRU. B2G1 free on LEGO sets. Excludes SW and bulk sets of course...
Bulk sets?

The Atlantis pics....

http://www.flickr.com/photos/9824337@N06/

Also a random Farm set (With pigs), a random Power Miner sets, which a grey dude, a few fire sets, and all the Atlantis pictures. Also a Ben 10 set, I think it's made from bricks, looks like Exo-force had sex with Bionicle. All the pictures are very small.

TRU always has that sale this week because of the "Birthday Celebration!"

Pirates is done, I believe because of poor sales. However they did bring it back for the 20th anniversary. i wish they did that with Ice Planet in 2001. What really pisses me off is we don't get the Pirate Advent Calendar! The City ones have sucked for about 3 years and they keep screwing us out of the Castle and now Pirates one which are much much better.

Seems like Atlantis = Aquazone/Aquaraiders part 3

Though the subs look kinda stupid, everything else looks good.

2g1f sale would be nice, but TRU doesn't have a great selection.... don't know what else I'd get.

Pirates just didn't have good sets period. island, a dock and a ship... no 2nd coming, and 1 rare set that was neat and I still haven't picked up yet.

Really they could have used maybe another small ship... they did have a good raft but they needed a smaller ship, or even two, one for both.

And it's weird because they just released a Battle pack for them, which is awesome.
And it's weird because they just released a Battle pack for them, which is awesome.
And Tic-tac-toe which is even better, and several other things. Not a big Pirate guy but I don't really hear a lot of talk for them. It's not really a Classic LEGO theme, it's only 20 years old, but still it had the first woman minifigure back then.

Also Atlantis looks just like a redo of Aquazone and there is even a Aqua Shark sub! The only difference is Aquazone 1995 was yellow, which I like, and made of pieces and these new sets look like HUGE pieces.

I was excited for the TRU sale ... until I remembered that TRU overprices half their LEGOs, thereby negating most of the savings. I'll hold out for their videogame sale instead.

I'm definitely considering trading in some games at TRU if this buy 2 get 1 is going on. I just built my Castle Siege and it feels like it needs some more Castle sets to go with it.

Well I picked up Fiery Legend, still unopened, so I'll return that, get say the Drawbridge and get the shipwreck hideout.

And walking out with Fiery Legend free.

Only problem, wife isn't too keen on going.

I don't blame her, TRU is the second level of hell.
Is medieval market place available in stores?
Nope, online only. Almost all of the Lego store exclusives that TRU ever carries are online only.
tru sale is live - the site is already really slow. got home one, battle for endor, and medieval market.
You didn't get the B2g1 free on the SW, or did you??

Anyways, enter code FBSEP20 at checkout for 5.00 off 25.00, and you can sign up to be a tru facebook fan to get the actual coupon for the b&m store here:

http://www.toys.com/2009/09/become-...srus-or-babiesrus-and-receive-a-5-coupon.html

It's time to finally get some of the Indy sets we're missing....yahoo!!!

In store, all the signs say "Exlcudes Star Wars and bulk sets".

Online, Star Wars and bulk sets appear to be included in the B2G1.

Anyway, just got back from my TRU.
Picked up:

6752 Fire Rescue ($60.99)
7641 City Corner ($59.99)
(FREE) 8970 Robo Attack! ($59.99)

I debated a long time as to whether get Robo Attack or 8169 Lamborghini Gallardo. For one, Robo Attack is actually only a $50 set that TRU marked up to $60, and the Gallardo has a better piece to price ratio. I went with Robo Attack anyway, as it fits better with my Lego City folk.

Almost forgot, I realized while I was there that if, like me, your Lego store is far away, and you're looking to pick up three of the Fall Impulse sets, the B2G1 free makes each one about 17 cents cheaper than retail. Not a deal, but if you've been looking to pick them up but were put off by TRU's ridiculous $1.50 markup, now is the time.

(The one's I'm referring to are 8398 BBQ Stand, 8399 K9-Bot, and 8400 Space Speeder)

Damnit, really want home one, endor, and indy mine cart, but apparently you can't get SW in stores and online it's $20 shipping! Still makes it about $80/set instead of $100, but still, ridiculous. Going to to TRU B&M now to see if it will just work anyway. Thanks for the coupon cutiepatootie!

I was able to do a return-rebuy with the King's Castle Siege I bought last week to get the b2g1. I ended up getting Galactic Enforcer and Troll's Mountain Fortress. Galactic Enforcer is a really awesome set. I haven't decided if I'm going to put together Troll's Mountain Fortress yet tonight.

I left before seeing this post, could have saved me the TRU tax.

Actually, waiting for a free shipping coupon would be better, that or a 5 off 20, which would work too, if willing to spend that much on impulse sets.

Speaking of impulse sets....

Target has two Power miner sets: 8907 & 8908

Just in time for Halloween
2.99 each and the piece count is 29 & 12 respectively.

There is about 7 extra pieces with the Rock Hacker and zippo in the Monster Launcher.

Cheaper than regular impulse sets, and I suggest the Rock Hacker than the Monster Launcher.

Looks like Power Miners have a Base?, not one on wheels?

Atlantis sets look ok, but the black sub looks nice.

Seems like the airport and planes for City next year.

A few SW sets, and looks like another Indy set. When is SW leaving?

No pirates, No Castle, and SW leaving soon right? Atlantis is a new theme, but what else? Maybe a late bloom for 2010?

Overall, I might be hitting up another drought for future purchases.

Only if you live in a state that doesn't have a Lego Store at all which means you could avoid tax that way. I have a Lego Store in my state it's just far away, so even if I had a free shipping coupon or visited that store, I'd still have to pay $3.50 a set x 3 = $10.50 total plus tax in store or S@H. Right now at TRU, it's $5.00 x 3 - $5.00 = $10.00 plus tax. I save 50 cents by buying all three at TRU.

1. Look at the Atlantis minifigures very cool.
2. Also Fire set for the beginning of the year, and the random Farm set.
3. That IJ set is actually the new theme PoP based on the movie and not the video game. Star Wars current license ends in 2011.
4. There will be Castle sets next year, most likely in the summer. Pirates will most likely return with 2011 with PotC4.

January to April
Toy Story
PoP
City -Fire-Farm-Airport-
Power Miners (With the weird blue and lime green "prison")
Atlantis
Ben 10 (Maybe)

Neat little PM set...
