Little Big Planet - Gen. Discussion & Info
Interesting note:

- People who have the DLC can host games for people who don't have it
- People who have the DLC can create levels with these items in it as prizes (including the Paintgun) so everyone can get it.

That's very nice of Media Molecule to do that.
They actually did that with the Crackdown DLC on the 360.. It was pretty cool, and allowed people to try out the new weapons and stuff as long as other person was hosting. :)

 • If anything I can say this cab is rare
 • Improved Online multiplayer level selection
 • And I yelled to the cabbie ‘Yo homes smell ya later’
 • I looked at my kingdom
 • I was finally there
 • To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air
awesome

I published a new level. It's called "So Much Death". this level is pretty much complete. If everyone could play it and give some feedback, I'd appreciate it. I think the level is pretty good.

If you're referring to this

MGS Level Pack owners will be able to CREATE levels with any of these items (including the Paintinator) and SHARE them online for everyone to play.

I think that just means that people without the pack can still play level that contain the items in it, not that you can give the items out as prizes. I could be wrong, though.

Yea, it doesn't make much sense that they would allow addon items to be given away, considering you can't give normal in-game items away as prizes. Either way, I'm going to be getting this, and with Lumines too, damn you Sony.

All of the fixes that MM put together for the last two patches:

Patch 1.06

Moderation
Good news on this front - The latest update (1.06) brings in some much requested changes to LBP’s moderation system. While the rules of what is and is not acceptable content for people to share have not changed, we have listened to your feedback and have made the following changes :

 • Moderated levels will now receive more better information about the reason regarding this action having happened.
 • The notification message will remain in place on screen, removing the chance that affected users miss the message.
 • Any moderated level can now be accessed for editing by the creator, whether on or offline.
 • Additional information is now displayed on the Good Grief screen advising users on how the grief reporting functions, and warns against making spurious reports
These changes, coupled with additional work behind the scenes should alleviate most of the issues that creators have experienced with the moderation system, and there is more to come in the new year. While the number of levels that have been moderated is less than 0.1% of the number that have been created and shared overall, we recognize that better communication is essential and we’ll continue to improve the system in response to your feedback.
An explanation of what constitutes unacceptable content to be shared can be found in the game’s End User License Agreement (EULA) which may be read at any time via the Settings menu in the game, however we recommend you follow these general guidelines :

 • Ensure that the content you share with other users is suitable for all ages - everybody has access to your level if you publish it.
 • Please respect other people’s intellectual property rights. For example, don’t use images, brands or logos that you’re not entitled to use.
 • If you come across any content that you feel the need to report, then please do it responsibly. Hoax reports will be considered inappropriate behavior.
Patch 1.07

New Search Modes:
Huge update on this end. We’re introducing more ways to find interesting levels! Not only can you search by the ‘most hearted’, but with the new ratings, you can also find the ‘highest rated’ as well as the ‘busiest’ levels online. So your input when playing other peoples levels will be even more important, so help us, make these search categories a great destination for the community. So “heart” away to those who deserve them, keep awarding those stars and keep commenting to help make peoples levels better. Also, keep in mind that this is just one update to improve the SHARE experience, and there will be more in the future.
“Wheel of Death” bug = FIXED:
The dreadful issue with speeding motorbolts and flinging Sackboys has been looked at, analyzed and corrected. So fling away!!!
In-game store:
Now you can browse and download costumes, level packs, etc, directly from the Pod. Check out the latest costumes and packs on the store and revisit all of your purchases.
Improved peripheral support:
USB keyboards now work and there is broader support for 3rd party controls.
Details, details, details:

 • Fixed stretchy Sackboy arms animation
 • Improved the corner editing tool
 • Tweaked some Sackboy animations
 • Adjusted Sackboy Slap sensitivities - so less accidental slaps
 • Fixed lights (object) to permanently remember color change
 • Improved online multiplayer level selection
 • Ability to save you level to a different slot on the moon while mid-edit
 • General server improvements
 • Misc visual fixes

Oh man I have played so many good levels thanks to this patch. FINALLY we have the game that was promised at launch. Can't wait for next week's content.

Ugh. Just got a blank red screen when I tried to load up the game. I brought up the XMB and could barely see mentioning something about difficulties loading data. Not good...

Holy crap... my level has gone crazy. I had like 650 plays and 200 hearts like yesterday. But right now I have 1670 hearts and 6,500 plays. o_O And my level is the Busiest and the Highest Rated.

Crazy!!

nice!

I'll have to check mine. I only saw the new update for 5 min, but man did it feel like what LBP's interface has been wanting to be for a while. :bouncy:

Mine will do that occasionally. I have found that, while the game is loading, if you wait until it shows the guy sleeping at his desk before you hit X or start to load, it will be fine. If you try to skip everything before that, it will red screen. I don't know if this is a common bug or not, but it never has done it again once I started waiting past the initial loading screens.

oh wow... just played for a bit and realized the level editor has a very convenient "Save Level As..." option now... yay! now I don't have to constantly make backup copies outside the level like I use to.

is there a list anywhere with all the DLC and sources for all the costumes, packs and costs (or promo sources) related to this game? I just got it and am sad I missed out on some past DLC.

The DLC you can miss in North America are...

Spacesuit
God of War Pack (Kratos, Medus, Minotaur costumes, 17 GoW stickers) - Gamestop
Nariko Costume (Doesn't appear on LBS even though GoW pack does, might mean level pack is coming) - Best Buy
Jack-o-Lantern Head
Turkey Head
Sack-Eating Plant (Might still be up there)
Kabuki Actor (Might still be up there)
TV w/ Remote (Might still be up there)

I believe that's it. Everything else in on the PS Store or LittleBigStore in game. Even if you say 'wear costume' it doesn't give the appropriate style of Sackboy (usually white knit)

They also updated the moderation, if your level gets taken down, it will remain in Your Moon with notes saying why it was taken down. There's also stuff and warnings letting others know what to use the Good Grief feature for, and probably punishments for those that abuse it.

It'd be nice to get a comprehensive list as I was looking for one earlier. This is a good start. Jack o' lantern, Turkey Head, and Spacesuit are indeed gone. When I was last on Thursday, Sack-Eating Plant, TV Head and Kabuki were still up.

Some additions:

Santa Coat, Trousers, Hat, and Beard Expires 1/8/08
Festive Level Pack Expires 1/8/08

The Santa stuff being free and the level pack with a cost of 2.99. Could we maybe maintain a list in the OP or something? I'm pretty sure a new thread will just get deleted/merged . . . I'd be happy to pitch in.

how would you find levels by user name? I might as well check out rolento's levels. gotta be better than playing alone all the time.

and is there a way to leave a level without rating it? I don't think it's fair for me to rate a level one way or another if I'm only in it long enough to exit.

I found some really interesting levels this morning on the uhhhh popular levels page.

There was one with a Futurama theme to it, complete with giant sized mockups of each character and numerous bonus prizes(of the characters) to be had for getting the ace on the level.

There was also a really cool looking Star Wars themed one, which I never did get around to finishing since I kept getting killed on one particular jump in the level.

If I get on tonight, I'll try and get the name of the users who created each level, since these two really stuck out to me as something that took quite a bit of effort to make.
My level has...wait for it...wait for it....wait for it...

OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!!!!!!!

plays of course
plays now... of course
plan on getting the mgs pack.. do you need it for mgs trophies?
Yes. The MGS pack has the paintball gun that is needed for doing most of those trophies, as well as aceing the levels that come with this pack. ;)

i havent gotten lbp yet but im in a gameshare group and i want to know if the level packs are gonna be in the ps store or in the littlebigstore, i already know that the holiday pack is in the ps store but what about the mgs4 pack? does any one have an answer?

I feel stupid asking this, but I haven't had an interest in it till now: how the hell do you change the color of the poison gas? do you change the fog color? because changing the material or applying stickers dont work.... >_

the DLC were in the PS store.. but now that they have the LBP store we'll see if they keep it there or not.

is there a trick to finding people and playing with them? I got someone on my friends list as it turns out they're playing LBP I can see the levels they created but i can't figure out how to play with him.
We should start a new thread with DLC info and CAG levels in the OP(s)
I second this motion. It's too much trying to go back through this looooong thread and find CAGer made levels.
guner, it'll probably be on the PS store... There's a LBP store?
yea thats what i heard about the new update

If you're to the area where you can see the levels they created, you should be able to click on their name (should be a rectangular portrait icon) near their levels, and go to "join" or "invite".
guner, it'll probably be on the PS store... There's a LBP store?
Yeah, it's at the bottom of the list where the story mode and "cool levels" are.

As for the DLC, I imagine it'll be in both areas. The LBP Store is just a convenient way to access the DLC from the game.

nvm on changing gas color... possibly figured it out.

also I'll say i like the idea of a second thread. it'll help promote levels alongised help the addition of more levels.

Same with me.

And if you havent figured it out yet... when you click the gas function just press square before attaching it to a material.

awesome thx.

yeah, I still am waiting on that damn co-op level making thing. sure would make level design go twice as fast (or twice as slow). where is it
Yea right, you've seen the way I type. I got horrible grammar...

I nominate Chibi!
What does grammar have to do with it? I'll do it.

Anyone up for doing all the 4-player levels or helping me with them? I have 100% on everything besides The Dancer's Court, The Frozen Tundra, and The Collector's Lair, which all need 4 people to get everything.
