Little Big Planet - Gen. Discussion & Info

I began work tonight on a 4-level series that should start going up in a week or so. It's an interesting concept that I think people might get a kick out of. I'm not going to say what it is exactly yet. It should take about a month for me to fully complete.

Why am I so eager to start this now and not a few days ago? Well, since I got 100% of all pickups, all avenues are open to me now. And if you check out my PSN profile, you will notice I am now the proud owner of a LittlePlatinumBoy.

Someone made an AWESOME Air Man music theme stage.
thanks

You guys check out that Batman - Mission Arkham stage someone created? Man... that stage was genius. Easily my favorite one so far.

I just noticed something interesting on Cool levels. Levels you haven't played yet give off this light glow. That's pretty neat to get people to play new levels.

Also, I've come up with a theme/title for my Episodic levels. I'm calling it Food Chronicles of the 80th Century. Yeah...it's just as weird as it sounds.

I am getting so pissed off at the level editor and I'm sot sure what I am doing wrong. I keep having several issues when trying to set everything up.

For example,

1. Say I make a wench with a sponge going straight up a long narrow tunnel. Now if for some reason the sponge gets stuck on the bottom, its not the sponge that moves, the sponge stays still and the ENTIRE rest of the level shakes and moves around throwing everything else in the level all over the place.

2. My level uses a lot of very precise placement objects so I use the grid to make everything line up which works fine .... until over time everything become un-aligned the the grid for some unknown reason.

3. Say I decide to remove said wench in issue number one. As soon as I delete it, my entire project gets a red tint over it. I then have to make any other object and then undo it to get the color back to normal.

I am about ready to throw my controller through the TV :bomb::bomb::bomb::bomb::bomb:

1. Be sure to glue the holding piece to the floor. I had this same problem because it would detatch from the floor when i was trying to move something on it.

There aren't any in the store yet. They are rolling those out next week (including a Halloween costume after Halloween). You can get the Nariko/Kratos costumes via pre-order codes.

I figured this was the problem, but I glue a piece to the floor and later it is no longer glued. I think it has something to do with the fact that I some pieces I place during the later stages of construction glue themselves to the main piece without me wanting them to. I'm not sure what I am pressing that is different that is causing them to stick and then sequentially unstick the entire piece. :dunce:

The Arkham level was friggin' awesome, although the last guy in Chodax group didn't know what to do and he ended up stuck at the bottom of the level and never bothered to "try again", so we had to leave :/

I love some of those music levels too, especially the Air Man one and Final Fantasy Theme.

I have an idea for a level but I'll complete as much of the game as possible so I have more materials at my disposal :D

One thing that still bugs me though is the online lag; If anyone joins during a level, the entire level is laggy, and occasionally, the rest of the time you play with that certain person or group. It's just getting on my nerves now -_-

Does anyone know how to change the darkness level in the middle of a created level, like they do in the very first level in the story mode. The one where you start off in the dark and as you move right the world lights up.

I have a good idea for a level... hope no-one has done it yet...

And I can't believe they don't have a trigger for lighting, I think that is one of the most important factors in a level.

I have a great idea too, but I want to collect as much stuff as I can before I attempt it. It'll be fashioned after something, but I want to put a spin on it, since what I planned might not be feasible.

Hope this question isn't too far off topic-- for those who ordered/bought at Circuit City, is there anything special inside the case? (like the pre-order sticker book that I don't think anyone actually got)? I ask because my online order showed up today (yay!) but it sounds like the disc is loose inside...

(I'm not opening it because I may still end up returning that copy, but if I know there is something inside that could explain the noise I wouldn't want to miss out)
Pull up your poppit, go to the tools option and go to the last page. You can alter lighting there.
Yeah I understand that. What I want to know is if there is anyway to trigger a change in lighting during the course of a level. Like in the very first thing that boots up when you load LBP the first time.

probably the best made music level still has to be the ICO one. go check it out.

I want to work on a new map today but need to come up with some ideas... gotta sketch them out while I'm waiting at the doctors today.

also, for anyone who cares, Microsoft has their own similar project coming along... note though this most likely isn't a rip off since it's been in development for roughly as long or longer than LBP:

Only Best Buy (Nariko outfit) and Gamestop (Kratos stuff) gave you preorder bonuses.

EDIT: I wonder if you could alter lighting via a motion sensor...

So My Wife and I can't get enough of this game. But here is a dumb question.

Is there a site for how to's on how to make custom LBP Characters? I thought that would be a cool idea if anybody thinks of it.

Anyone up for some 4 player co-op? Every time I try to join a public game no-one cooperates and just runs the level.. plus no one is ever using microphones so that's annoying as well.

I'm interested in doing some 4-player co-op with CAGs, I won't be home until after midnight but I'll be playing quite a bit when I get home and throughout the week. Haven't done any of the co-op sections yet so send a request if you guys want to play sometime. I have the SOCOM headset but haven't really played with anyone using mics.

Haven't made any levels yet, not sure what I want to make, maybe a Transformers themed level first. When I have more time to sit down with the game, I'll probably see if I can make a Starscream sackboy. Might be tricky, but I'll try!

I'm going to create a level sometime, but really debating what I'm going to create. The level has to be VERY Mana Knight like.

Throw me some friend invites. I would love to play online with others (especially because I want the trophies).

And I've got a borrowed mic, but the charger isn't with me right now, so I can't use it for the next couple days.

Sent you a friend request, Rig.

If you're looking for a cheap mic of your own, try Gamestop, as they have a Logitech USB one for $19.99 currently. Of course, that'd mean you'd have to be tethered to the PS3, which is no problem for me since I sit on my bed right next to the table my PS3 is on. :)

anyone wanna be an awsome person and share there acc for me so i can use a kratos code? eb screwed me over saying they'll gimme a code when i pick up the game and when i did they said they ran out.

my one complaint of something that was omitted but promised is finally going to work! yay! I can finally make the damn stickers I want... plus expect lot of character skins people will be designing....
Awesome to hear they're adding the image importing, it should definitely be easier than the EyeToy for some things.

Another thing I hope they fix WAY before Christmas is the online issues. I can hardly play with anyone online, it gets laggy at points and also occurs when either I join in someone else's group during a level or vice versa. I keep complaining about it buy it's just so annoying, and I know it can't be my connection, I can play every single other online game without a hiccup.

I liked this part of the article :
For those (many) people that were upset to hear that the PlayStation Eye was going to be the only image import option this will indeed be (completely non-religious) music to their ears.

Woot my saw level is almost complete.

Then i realized i have a 20 chapter business exam in 24 hours.

Havent started reading a single chapter.

I hope your Saw level is better than the one already out, and the test/exam last minute cram has happened to everyone, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't start crackin' open the book now, so if you're reading this post you're already wasting time haha ;)

Yeah, i had 5 weeks to prepare, forgot about it til I logged into my classes and saw "QUIZ NEEDS TO BE DONE IN 24 HOURS".

Sigh.. It will be. Once its done.. Friday.. since I have college all week with three projects due.

Stupid college. Don't they realize little big planet is way more important?
Argh, connection died again. I guess that means it is time to sleep. Good times Bav :)
Sure was, Dye! Hope to play some story mode with you tomorrow or another day. Have to nab some of the co-op items, haha. :D

Oh, you got online classes? Then procrastinate another half a day with LBP so you can cram properly, which means frantically ;)
