Little Big Planet - Gen. Discussion & Info
How do people HATE LBP? It's like hating youtube...
I think I mostly hate the average person who comments and all the AMVs on youtube more than the idea of youtube. Like I hate all the people who comment about heart my level and I'll heart yours back / trophy whores on LBP. Those comments need to be modded out.

I really thought I would be much more enamored with LBP. I played the hell out of the beta and now with the full game I dont even want to play it. I dont know what happened but it got old to me a lot quicker than I ever imagined.

I'm glad I didn't get int othe beta. I think I hate games more after playing the beta, which is why I barely touched kz2. I'm having the most fun with it just doing bar style lbp with friends. Also my g/f likes it a lot which helps.

Yeah the last time I played it was with girls, so that is a plus. But what is "bar style"? Just like a party game? I need more controllers man

Also, I wasnt even really hyped for KZ2 until playing the beta. My game that I waited on/hyped to all hell was/is Socom. The beta didnt really ruin that for me, although I hate playing crossroads now since that was the only map in the beta. Also the R2 beta saved me a purchase so its not all bad. LBP beta definetely ruined it for me though, so I see where you are coming from.

I think the reason why it got old quick for some is because the cool levels and search functions are broken. I've seen a ton of amazing levels beyond what I could comprehend (check the NEOGAF LBP threads) but they never show up on any of the planet pages.

fix the cool lvls MM please.

The Cool Levels pages is broken. They should make it like Singstar. Have a Hall of Fame section and new levels section. And allow you to more easily check out people's level than the search function which I rarely use.

after playing LBP for a fewhours Ithink this game would be a lot more fun with people who communicated. Lucky for me the one time I did meet someone else w/headset he was yelling over and over again for me to "Just pick a level" or "just create a level". Nevermind the fact that the level was loading at the time.

Yea, no offense to CAGs I've played it, but it's boring when there is no communication. People need to get headsets and use them in this game. It makes the game ten times better, well unless you're with some kid screaming. When I played with TMK I know he uses one and that was fun, or with a few of my friends, since we can just chat randomly or tell each other what to do or laugh when we die. It's frustrating when nobody has a headset or communicates and everybody dies because of miscommunication. My brother plays and yells at the screen when people aren't doing the "correct" thing but he refuses to communicate at all, whether with a headset or chat.

I try not to play online if I'm not using my headset. The only time playing with someone that doesn't have a mic actually worked is when I was playing with a friend. I'd ask yes or no questions, and he'd make his sackboy nod or shake it's head. I imagine you guys have noticed the way sackboy's lips will move when you use a mic. It's actually pretty amuzing.

dude.. people can hear me on my mic if they don't have one? I'm glad I didn't say anything embarrassing.. wait a minute this is online. I'm sorry I didn't say anything embarrassing.

it's just the way we used to talkk about ut3 nights, it's like a social bar where doesn't matter how godo you're doing people are just having a good time. talking, chatting, socializing and playing/having fu.

Ya, I hope to get a headset soon.

It's funny as hell seeing the sackboys talk... especially when its like a deep black mans voice.
don't know... it still throws me off...

oh and get this game now people... $40 on amazon
Where where? Its 57 on Amazon atm. Is the deal gone?

I think it was temporary... oh well :(
 I have a headset, it's just never charged
Well charge when not in use and solve your problem. :p

LBP + Street Fighter DLC @ PS Store: 12/11/08

Posted by Mark Valledor // Marketing Manager, SCEA
HADOUKEN! When you’re taking a break from playing your newly downloaded Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (available now on the PlayStation Network) — imagine venturing around LittleBigPlanet dressed as some of the greatest and most iconic characters in fighting. Beginning this Thursday, CAPCOM’s Street Fighter, one of the world’s greatest pop culture phenomenons, teams up with LittleBigPlanet to bring you brand new Street Fighter costumes made especially for your Sackboys and Sackgirls.
Now is your chance to be geared up and ready to go toe-to-toe with anyone who stands in your way with Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile and Zangief costumes that will be available at the PlayStation Store.

For all you fans who want to add to your growing costume collection, each costume will be available for $1.99. OR you can purchase ALL 4 COSTUMES for $5.99 in our Street Fighter Costume Pack.

Oh, and that’s not all for this week in costumes. Check back here again on Wednesday to see what else we have “in-store” for you.
Til next time…’keep it on the DL’

Dangit. I had a 4 star rating last night, then this morning it had gone down to a 3 star :(

Finally got my trophy for not dying darknessbear. After our game crashed, I decided to do it.. and got it done on the first try -_-'' It's amazing what being frustrated can do :)

I'm thinking about making a new level, since my level is definitely not going to earn me the create trophy. Should I make a level as an homage to the PS3? I've made some Zonis, Clank and Buzz (mk 1 of course).

Wow, that's expensive just for costumes. As much as I would like them, that's too rich for me just to look like Guide. I wish instead of selling just costumes, they would create levels related to these costumes they release and have some little story to go with it and additional items to earn. I would expect more if I'm paying $6 for something.

It's more fun for me when there are generic parts so I can make my own costumes. A lot of the SF parts really scream "Street Fighter" so I'm not inclined to buy them, especially not for $2 each.

I wish the Soulcalibur team was half as proactive at putting out new costume parts.
Coming from Capcom, I'm not too surprised...
More like Namco Bandai, those guys are a rip off in their DLC pricing of items. Still that just means you will eventually see the Darth Vader and Yoda Sackboy from LucasArts for $10 and then the MGS and FF7 Sackboys will also probably be priced high since the true fanboys will be buying no matter what the price.

I really wanted to pick them up, but not at that price. Especially when people are doing so many crative things with the items that are already in the game.

I have the Animal Pack, Kraytos, Motorstorm dude and Nariko for trade for the Street Fighter pack and/or LOCO ROCO and/or Chimeran.

Thanks =P Oh, and nice job Dyek!

Sonofa... I already committed to buying the SF costumes in my gameshare group since we're rotating purchases and I am stuck with the $6 pack. I figured it was going to be $2.99 like the animals. What a crock.

I think I'm going to put this game down for a while until everything is ironed out by MM (lag, scoring issues, 100% of the features working). A ton of people will be getting it for xmas, so I don't expect the community to shrink at all.

$6 is pretty friggen expensive...

Isn't the pain expansion $6? What is MM doing? Costumes don't even matter anyways, noone ever gives a shit that you are dressed like a frog. The only time you get any comments at all is when you make your own costume...

I completely agree. I'm saving my money for the game changing DLC. Costumes? I'm happy with my glowey-eyed zombie.

On a complete side-note:

Do any of you know how I would need to wire a door so that it opens once a boss is dead? I know I'll need a wench, but I'm not sure how I would set it up to open once all the boss' brans are collected. Thanks for the help!

I have no idea.

But, a cheap way around that would be making a Dissolve trigger with the amount of dissolve squares equal to the amount of brains. And have each brain sitting right next to an area trigger (make it small) so every time you come in contact with the brain it will trigger the area trigger and result in another dissolve square...well, dissolving. Once it reaches the bottom, activate the door (with a directional key trigger).

Not sure if you can attach triggers to brains though.

To help spread a little holiday cheer all the LittleBigPlanet players out there, we are giving a new Santa Outfit on the PlayStation Store starting tomorrow! Now all you LBP fans out there can jingle your way through the holidays in style. The suit will be given away across two release waves over the next couple of weeks.

The fun start tomorrow (12/11/08), where we will be giving the Santa coat and a set of trousers for all you SackBoys and SackGirls.

And next week on 12/18/08, you can complete your outfit with a Santa hat and beard that will be available for FREE as well! (But note, the outfit will only be available till January 8th so be sure to download it before then!)

With this outfit on top of the cool Street Fighter gear we just released, Sack people will certainly be fitted. But the holiday cheer doesn’t end here. For those festive fanatics who are definitely feeling very merry and bright, we have more “in store” for you throughout the rest of the month. So, continue checking back in for updates on upcoming LBP DLC!

On a different note, we are teaming up with our friends from IFC (Independent Film Channel) for a “Play. Create. Share. Short film challenge”!

Visit the LittleBigWorkshop for more details!
It's interesting that they split up the suit over the next two weeks, though it would've been nice to have a Santa suit one week and maybe a Rudolph/reindeer costume the next.

Haha, your god is sweet.

Although we can hate them for charging so damn much for costumes, they are giving (pretty consistently) a lot of nice free costumes.

Not really. The Premium costumes have always been $1.99 while the normal ones are $0.99, so the bundle of premium costumes would obviously be more than a bundle of normal costumes.
