Little Big Planet - Gen. Discussion & Info

Yeah that makes sense... I'm gonna let my group down gently. $6 of costumes eats at me when whole downloadable games are released for $10 (not to mention store bought games clearanced that have been out for less than a year). I haven't been playing, and I'm not constantly swapping outfits either. Easy to get caught up in the hype.

Hey Rolento, just curious because I haven't played LBP in a while, did your Street Fighter level get moderated? I hope not because it was pretty neat. Especially Blanky and Zangy.

On my level creating note, I'm conjuring up plans with how to approach level 2 of my Adventure I'm creating the game. It's not going too well, but it will involve buttons, jetpacks and...dissolving material. Also, the coolest enemy ever is going to be in it as a boss.

It's still up. I think it'll stay due to capcom's approval plus the fact that capcom also has ties to the game now with the SF Sackboys.

I'm going to start working on a new level tomorrow after last day of portfolio reviews at my school. I plan to do a children's playground.

Ya, the only real good thing about costume packs is using them for their parts... noone just uses the costume they purchase. No-one is ever impressed by a purchased costume, but everyone loves a good created one.

It isn't the GIANT CRAB, is it? Those are always so original and fun. NOT!

Seriously though, let us know what it is.

If you have them on your friendlist, you can check it through there. Otherwise you would probably have to do a manual search since I don't think any of these are on the "cool levels" pages. They need to change how they do cool levels or have a better way to search for levels than by tags or just typing in search phases since that sometimes didn't work when I was searching for a certain level.

If anyones interested in gamesharing I have -
All of the SSF2HD costumes
All of the Animal Costumes
Kratos Medusa Minotaue Costumes.

Will take 1/5th the price+paypal fees or the motorstorm, chimera, loco roco or any other costumes i missed.

Who knows. I can't even find that level on the game though because there are like 200 Tic-Tac-Toe levels. There's also a level that has over a million plays.

I'm currently working on a sandbox playground level. you can check out my progress since I'll slowly be uploading it as it is being developed. Nothing revolutionary, just something I realized that hadn't been done yet.
I've been wondering. When are they going to patch in online level creating?
wanting to know the same since Darknessbear and I plan to make something once that feature goes live.

A Festive Level pack hits the store on Thursday for $2.99, and includes new creation tools. It'll go away January 8th though.

o_O new creation tools? What what?

*added*
The first level pack, called the Festive Level Pack, includes two costumes (the Christmas Tree Headpiece and a Wrapped Sackboy); a wrapping paper Create material (which is just cardboard with a texture applied to it); festive sleigh and holiday themed light objects; festive bauble, bell, wrapping bow, candy cane, card, and stocking decorations; and lots of new stickers.

Hmm... nah...

This is just the first Level Pack — but with the holidays only around for a few more weeks, the Festive Level Pack is only available for a limited time and will be removed from the store after January 8, 2009. Remember, there will be more to come, so continue to check back here again to see what is “in-store” for you.
Looks nice for what it is.

I will definitely be dropping the cash for those. Costumes for $2.00 is one thing, but DLC that actually has an effect on gameplay? Sign me up!

As a side note, I was finally able to figure out how to make a really good "kill the boss to proceed" door. I should be putting up my first level in the next few days. I'll keep you guys posted!

You tie a Boss' Brain to a Dissolving Material. If it's possible, because I haven't tried.

Oh, and I'm definitely getting the level pack, if it's 3 levels.

I keep putting off working on my level because I'm worried that the ability to import custom stickers will be added. Was the picture floating around ever confirmed?

Lol. Wish we got this before I made my Christmas level. Had to create my sleigh and everything. I agree though that THIS is a Christmas pack. This will be the first pack of any kind with LBP that I will purchase. Definitely worth the pick up.

Rolento, are you even interested in gamesharing? MrCapcom and I were both interested in doing some expansion pack/character pack sharing.

I knew we were getting the Old Snake Sackboy, but not Meryl and Screaming Mantis. I also didn't know we'd get a level pack too.

I'm very interested in this, wonder how much it will cost though, since premium costumes for for two dollars each, but this also has levels.

I believe the Costume Pack/Level Packs are separate. And going by SFIV pricing, it'll be $6 for the costumes, and I guess $4 for the Level Pack.

I also think $6 for the costume pack and depending on what the level pack includes, $4 or $5. Something in my head is screaming $10 for the level pack, though and I would hate it if it was right.

As a side note, I've been threatening you guys with my first level for a while and I finally decided to let it go out on its own. I'd love it if you guys gave it a try and let me know what you think. What with you guys making awesome levels and all.
I'll probably skip the costumes but the map pack I'll be getting.
I have not seen anything about any new madps/levels. Did I miss something? I know Alex Evans has spoke about levels in DLC but what was announced? Or do you just mean the stickers and whatever?

Nothing to get too excited about. It's not levels, just new pieces to build levels with. Post 3091 details the holiday level pack, so check that out.

So if I point at another player while wearing the Screaming Mantis costume, can I control their movement? Slapping people into fire just doesn't do it for me anymore.

Word. Thanks man

Edit-Correct me if Im wrong, but the holiday "level pack" does not contain actual levels? Why not call it a create pack or something. Dammit MM just give me new levels to play.
