while gullen might need to deal w/ criticsim better, shouldn't mariotti deal with cheap shots better. From what I have heard about him, that is all he does, take shots at people in his articles. With what Ozzie said about him, and now marriotti is not going into the locker room because he fears bodily harm. The 2 players that had threatened him, were tony phillips (long gone) and crazy Carl Everett, who is with Seattle now. If you can't handle being called out in public, maybe mariotti shouldn't be writting. As for the sensitivity training, the community that should be most upset with Ozzie is the homosexual one. I haven't heard any of there groups come out and be upset/want his head because of what he said. If that community isn't upset about it, then the actions by bud selig are laughable. Espically considering brett, I beat the shit out of my wife, myers got to pitch in a game within days of being arrested for spousal abuse. There were several eye witnesses to the altercation. Then the hgh/steroid shit. And bud selig says ozzie needs to take sensativity training because baseball need to set the social bar. Bud should clean out the closet of mlbs dirty laundry before dealing with ozzie imo.
Do a little research next time. Homosexual groups HAVE come out and been upset about his comments. The Myers incident is different. He will be punished if convicted, but until then, nothing can be done becaue he has not been proven guilty of anything. Ozzie stated it publicly to a reporter, so Selig had to act right away. As for Mariotti taking cheap shots, that may be, but his job is to critique and comment on things. If Guillen had just said he was not happy with what Mariotti was saying, that would be one thing, but he didn't.
