Madden 09 - Gen. Discussion & Info

That first video is mine I made it.

The second video is some guy just on youtube. He has made a lot of videos and has said in one of them that the team in blue is a created fantasy drafted team in his franchise called the New York Sharks.
 
I have been a huge fan of Madden for a long time, but this is the first time I am totally indifferent to the game. It is only ok, and the only reason I am keeping it is because I want to try to get a little more of my money's worth before I trade it for NBA 2K9.

The achievements are bizarre compared to last year. They seem to have picked random crap to do like 6 rushiing TD's with the Dolphins. What kind of crap is that?

Plus, they still haven't done shit with the ESPN license.

Do they base weather off the location of the stadium or is it completely random? I just played an online game in Dallas and it was snowing.

(Yes, I know it can snow in Dallas, but it's still rather rare)
 
Online, the weather feels random. I rarely get a regular, sunny day or a rainy day. It's either cloudy, windy, or snowing, or some combination. Never sunny or raining.
 
Its typical EA. They seemingly can never just make something right. I dont understand why they can never seem to just do something simple right.

They always reek of cutting corners.


People bitch about adding something as simply as weather online what do they do? They add it but dont take the time to do it right and now it Snows in Dallas or Huston, every other game has 17mhp even in cities that are known to have pretty steady weather.

Just so typical.
 
Something that continually pisses me off about this game is during the Madden moment where you have to score two TDs with two two point conversions as the Vikings against the Broncos. It jumps into it with about 5:45 left in the 4th, and it is 4th and 8 at around the Broncos' 20 yd line.

Here's where I get pissed. If you don't make that 1st down, then you're pretty much screwed. You've only got two timeouts, and even if you're able to miraculously score twice to tie the game, you fail if the score is still tied at the end of the 4th. It won't let you win in OT. Anyways, back to failing on that 4th down. If you don't get the 8 yards, then it's pretty much over. That's okay, right? You can just pause it and pick "Restart" like in every other situational mode in pretty much any sports game that has had them. WRONG. For some idiotic reason, you have to exit all the way back to the menu, pick the moment again, and sit through more loading screens. What makes this suck even more is the fact that I can't beat this one and the game only unlocks five or so at a time. The way it's looking now, I'll never get to the rest of them.
 
I know that, but on the particular one I'm talking about, you only fail when the 4th quarter ends. If you don't make that first down at the start, there's basically no hope of successfully completing the moment. You either have to play it down to :00 or exit all the way back to the menu.
 
I've gone back to unlock achievements in anticipation of Madden 10, but I've gotten 6 rushing touchdowns with the Dolphins twice and no achievement. I finished the game both times.
