Madden 10 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE (Tournament)- LOTS OF TEAMS AVAILABLE!

gg Soodmeg. You won on my mistakes... or the CPU's.. whoever's.

On your late 4th Q drive, I should've had an INT. You threw it deep to Chris Johnson and my safety was just watching that ball. Then you threw it in the middle and I was in position to INT the ball with Burnett(?) but instead of aligning himself he just turned his back.

Then in OT, I lob it up to Floyd... but lobs are nearly impossible to throw, especially online, so it just goes to your safety. I wanted to "freeze" the kicker on your first FG attempt, but it decides to call the TO AFTER you kick. Then this is probably my mistake for not checking the play and trying to "fake" audibles/hot routes when I initially called a HB draw that actually turns into a pass play which leads into a INT.

So frustrating. Damn, what a game though. That TD to Gates was on poooiinnt between two of your DBs.

Wow that game must have pissed jayz off like hell.

Good game though.

Titans win in OT 23 to 20 on a rob b 55 yard kick going into 10 mph winds. After missing a 51 yard kick.

Rivers throws 2 picks in OT. The first one was a user pick but the 2nd one was picked by a nose tackle while attempting to run a screen.

Yeah it was great. That gates pass was good.

That cj 80 run on the first play of the game was better. Ha!

So a fellow in another league I'm in went to the trouble of creating this awesome script that greatly enhances the online franchise website. It compiles statistics and presents them in a sortable table for a ton of categories. You can find out a ton of stats not just about your team as a whole, but also each individual player and see how you compare to the rest of the league.

286vhw5.jpg

It only works in Firefox. To get it, first install Grease Monkey then install his script. Now, the stats will appear at the bottom of each page of the franchise website. Click on the appropriate category to expand it, then the top of the column to sort by that column.

Enjoy.

hey my bad Big At i got your friend request yesterday, i got offline after i finished the game i was in, we can play today at some point though what time would you like to play ?

I'll be around pretty much all day today, so let me know what works for you. The earlier the better.

FrankySox and I just finished a really good game. I won with a field goal as time expired, 10-7. Good game, Franky.

My record is now the same as my area code: 9-5-1. :)
ight cool um what time how about around noon est ?
Sounds good.

yes i love u matt haha i think that mean i clinch with a win!

I'm not one to complain about tactics, in fact, I don't think I ever have on here before, but my game against MrGrandCru was everything that makes playing random online matches completely intolerable and why I usually just stick to leagues like this. This isn't some bitter post after a loss, I don't even care about the outcome; I have a playoff spot locked up and my seeding really isn't going to change based on how my season winds down. I was going to post something like this win, lose or draw.

A few of the things I can think of off the top of my head:

-manually lining defensive linemen an almost comical distance outside of the tackle box. I'm talking even wider than the tight end. This has been exploitable and completely ridiciulous in almost every iteration of Madden and really shouldn't be allowed. There's a difference between shifting your line to guess where a run is going and manually lining up your DE opposite a slot receiver because they can sprint past a tackle with broken AI and straight to the QB.

-CONSTANTLY dropping 9-10 men into coverage

-running the Wildcat with a team that has no business running it

-stacking defenders on top of each other so they can nano through the line

-sprinting around the backfield with Pat White. There's a difference between scrambling out of the pocket once things break down, and taking a snap and immediately holding turbo while making a sprint directly for the sidelines.

-manually running back an extra blocker on punt returns. Punt coverage is bad enough and unrealistic in this game to begin with without taking someone off the line to act as a personal wrecking ball for the return man.

I think there was a couple of other things I can't remember off the top of my head. Like I said, I participate in leagues to avoid this type of thing and it's frustrating to have to deal with it in such a great capacity. I'm not for absurdly strict sim rules or anything, but there is a certain amount of reason I thought was being practiced that certainly wasn't here.
Hey Regian, please let me know if you can play tomorrow or friday, because I'm not sure if I can play any other time :)
Is Regian out?

You bring up some valid points Big, you just gotta deal with it and hope for the best it sucks ive encountered this as well the only difference being that i won. anyways im guessing mr cru wrapped up home field so if i win this week ill prob rest my starters in week 17

I am not attempting to cause any sort of argument or anything either with my post, first the three maybe four times i moved Everette Brown over was to cover the flats and that screen that you called which for some reason my cover three cornerback would not cover that area as they normally do, granted i dont know what type of screen play you were running but normally the cb covers the area.

On to the situation with the Wildcat , which i only ran three times i didn't think there was anything wrong with it and did not exploit it in anyway. I typically don't use it but being that you injured de angelo and his backup i figured i would try it and it worked well.

The dropping nine in coverage, that was actually eight except for two maybe three times when i ran out the nickel 1-1-5 which has a cover three that drops a lineman back and and blitzes the linebacker instead, a few times when you had eli manning sneaking i dropped peppers or kemeotu (mispelled name) in qb spy and they dropped off the line to watch manning.

I dont know about the stacking of the line if this occured i dont remember doing it, it was one time i had to move beason back because when i crowded the box by hitting y + left they stacked him but i was not attempting any nano's of any sort, if anything i was trying to avoid them.

The sprint with Pat White happened twice both on third down abd because you brought the heat, my check down reciever was not open, my pocket collapsed so i got out of there, and on another attempt by Pat White it was a playaction rollout play so i rolled out.

As for the Punt Coverage, i did manually move back an extra person but i have also played other players who have done this i didn't realize this was wrong, regardless whether its wrong or not i apologize because seeing other players is no excuse, when i first saw it i thought it was a good strategy so i adopted it. If we aren't allowed to do this it should be known widespread.

In conclusion, I don't believe at any point was i doing anything to exploit or cheese or breaking any rules. You can check with past opponents, throughout the league, i get on the game and play an honest game, similiar to yourself. I thought we had a good game ? but regardless i appreciate the formality of you posting your feelings about the game and not just hoping on the forum bashing me or name calling.
Is Regian out?
Not really, but since he's been online/on XBL today and hasn't responded, I'll have to kick/play game/reinvite because this is kinda my last opportunity to play...
Hopefully he won't be upset since we're both out of the playoffs with Matt's win...

Can't we all just get along and play madden??? Damn, it's a video game - not a real game. If you or your opponent decide to play "silly" - adjust your team to do the same. It's called strategy.

DAMN - leave him off as he is my next opponent and I don't want to have to hunt him down either. It will be a huge game for me unless Chop Suey lays the smack down on Matt.

Well, he actually left the league so I didn't have to kick him. Odd...
Vikings 49
Bears 13

After many Vikings fans were infuriated by Jared Allen leaving the team, DE acquisition Patrick Kerney broke the NFL record for sacks in a game with 9. Vikings fans, needless to say, have now changed their minds.

Culpepper threw for 6 TDs, and 3 Vikings (Berrian, Dunn and Rice) all had over 100 passing yards.

Is there a player progression thing at the end of the season? Because if Culpepper doesn't retire and gets a decent upgrade I'd LOVE to stick with my Vikings.

Yeah, I left tne league. But not out of spite or anything of that nature. Just couldn't find the ambition to play by appointment most of the time.

I had fun. I enjoyed hanging in there for a while with you guys, I just didn't want to be the one dragging everything to a halt while everyone's ready to continue.

Good luck to everyone in the final week and playoffs.

gg homeland. i can't believe you've only won 2 games. you played me tight until the 4th.

Addai ripped me up for 81 yards on the ground, 49 receiving. The only thing I could do was injure him apparently. Out for 7 weeks! (sorry again). After that my D started making more consistent stops and my run game was worthy enough to open up my horrid passing (threw 2 early picks).

Oh yeah, and looking forward to the playoffs. It looks like I should land the #2 seed. Assuming the Broncos win next week and I beat the CPU, we'll have the same record and I think conference record is the tiebreaker since we didn't play this year. And I'm currently 10-1 and he's 9-3. :)
yes i love u matt haha i think that mean i clinch with a win!
I messaged you on XBL a few days ago and sent you a PM tonight. When can you play?

I'm out of town on a gig tomorrow night and won't be able to play until Sunday. This is a big game in our division, so I really don't want to have it simmed.

Let me know.

Are we going to replace players for the next season or keep the amount we have? I ask cause I'm starting to get the simulation blues. I haven't had a game in quite a few weeks.

Thought you guys might want to know that on November 1, Dimitri Brown defeated reigning champ Ronnie Casey in the finals of GameStop’s Madden NFL 10 “Battle of the Gridiron” Tournament. He takes home $5,000, and photographic proof that he was the meat in a hot-chicks-and-dude-in-a-bird-suit sandwich.

Watch out for Dmitri on Xbox Live. More info can be found here. I work for GameStop, so let me know if you guys have any questions.

I hope Chop Suey and Lyric are playing today. I'm bumping this thread off of page 2, and this league feels like it's coming to a grinding halt. Is everyone pretty much done with Madden?

Cardinals best Rams 21-17 in the competitive NFC West. Bulger had two costly INTs, and the Cardinal defense kept Jackson in check all night.

Great game, Chop Suey! You'll be a force in the playoffs, that's for sure!
are we advancing soon??? NFC NORTH is SO TIGHT!

CHOP SUEY - I need your help week 16.
I think once it advances I will have officially clinched. The worst I can finish would be 9-6-1, to your 9-7 if you win.

Azu you can go ahead and kick me. It sucks as I was looking forward to the draft and season 2. Unfortunately my 360 broke on me so, I'm not going to be around. Thanks for the season everyone. While I had a shitty record, each game was a blast and I had a great time.

Let's try to get the play odds done this weeks. I personelly would love to trade this is for l4d.

Let's see if I can do what the pats couldn't.

I'll do that.
Theres a nice open spot for you if you want back in when you get a new 360.

DEADLINE IS FRIDAY GUYS! I know some people are waiting for next season because they've been eliminated and the NFC Playoff picture can't be changed, but keep playing!
Hopefully the superbowl will be over middle of next week or earlier...

haha, of course one week before playoffs start and Lito Shepard goes down for 6 weeks. it was right after I started benching all my offensive starters too, I guess I should've done the same on D.

And I'm spent. The Dallas Cowboys finish with a disappointing 7-9 record, but at least Tony Romo threw 8 TD passes in his last game.

I think I mentioned this before, but I'm not coming back next season. I just have too much other stuff going on right now. Thanks for running a solid league, Azu.

I have sent my opponent (sstyler24) a pm as well as an xbl message, I haven't received a response to either and he hasn't been online in 6 days...
