Madden 10 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE (Tournament)- LOTS OF TEAMS AVAILABLE!

You can't move up in seeds unless you beat me out. You're at max a 5 seed now, assuming the Chargers don't have the same record at this point. Last week of the season will be interesting, assuming I don't lose to the Vikings.
 
So I can't move up even though I've now got a better record than San Diego and Baltimore? That sucks lol, Cause I know I've got at least 1 Win on San Diego and Baltimore. If that's the case I guess I'll just have to pull out all the stops and try to beat you in Week 17, Haha. Either that or Hopefully the Vikings can help me out a bit :)
 
Pretty sure the Ravens losing clinches me a 1st round bye (assuming I don't magically lose to the CPU in Week 17). Even if I lose to the Cowboys, I'd at worst be the 2 seed behind whichever AFC East team finishes 14-2 (damn alphabetical tie-breaker).

And venom, how did you block TWO kicks in one game? I assume you have some secret method that's legitimate, and it's not an exploit.. Right? ;)
 
The Pittsburgh Steelers Came to Visit the Miami Dolphins last night in a torrential downpour of epic proportions. Both Defenses Came to Play, with the TOTAL Offensive yards at halftime being a whopping 82! 41 for each team. In the 3rd quarter the Dolphins showed a little grit by scoring What would lead to be the Game Winning TD on 3rd and 10 with a 57 yard pass from Chad Henne to Ronnie Brown. To top it all off Ronnie Brown did a baseball slide into the endzone, that led to him almost hitting the back wall of the endzone, because it was so wet. I laughed pretty hard. Total Offense for the game were in the Dolphins Favor, 132, and 118 for The Steelers. The steelers attempted to get back into the game late in the third quarter with a 54 yard field goal with 1:39 left in the quarter which J. Price coolly hit.

Time of possession favored the Steelers, 11:30 to 8:30.

The Win ultimately went to the Dolphins, who are used to playing in the downpours of South Florida.

I've been pulling it off for ages haha. It's pretty easy to be honest. You just have to know here to place that one guy and then come shooting through the gap with the MLB. I'm suprised no one has figured it out yet. I've told a few people about it like Ubernes and Dolphins Owner lol.

Right, I've heard about that one. It's pretty cheap, no offense, since it would only work in Madden. Not really a real approximation of the game of football, especially since there's really not too much an opponent can do about it.
 
Does that trick happen to work for blitzing on regular plays too? Some random guy I played online would manually blitz the middle with his middle linebacker and literally get through the gap every single time and sack me if I didn't throw the ball within 2 seconds. My offensive line would never pick him up...it was really gay but I still ended up winning (pretty much by picking a random receiver to throw it to as soon as I hiked the ball and hoping he would end up open).

Regarding this, I've seen him do it and it dances on the line of being an exploit. Mainly because he wasn't really consistent with it, but I'm going to agree with bv here, especially with the playoffs approaching.

I don't want to see any games being decided by 1 or 3 points because someone is shifting around players in a way that unfairly allows blocked kicks. I think we can call this an exploit if only because there's really nothing the offensive team can do on their end to prevent this from happening. Unless they start going for 2 point conversions. And in that case then the Pats are going to find themselves at the end of unnecessary 1 point losses, so I think it's best for everyone to shelf it from this point forward.

I couldn't agree more. I went and found some youtube videos of it, and in my mind there's no question that it's an exploit. Blocking kicks and especially extra points is hard in Madden because it's hard in real football. There's little chance this strategy would work to successfully block a kick in the NFL. How many extra points are blocked in a season in the NFL? Maybe a handful, and usually those involve a botched snap.

Anything which appreciably separates the games we're playing from the real thing (at least those things which are controlled by the player, as this is) seems like a bad idea to me.
 
You know, I'm 99% sure I've never blocked a single kick in Madden 10. I think I can count on 1 hand the number of kicks I've blocked since I started buying Madden with the 06 version. Just sayin'.

Nor have I. Plenty of returns for TDs after long misses, and a few blocked punts here and there. If anything, blocking FGs in Madden is MORE difficult than in real life (probably because there are fewer botched snaps, if I had to guess).

I've not tried but I imagine if you were to shift the NT or RE at the spot over the Center and you were to put your MLB right into the Gap so he could shoot through that it'd work. Mainly I have trouble when people decide to take one of their ends and move him all the way to the other side and get what seems to be an unblockable rush everytime lol. Even if I do shift the line protection.

Assuming we do advance tonight, how about 20 minutes after whenever the game ends? I'll be watching it too. I'll send you a friend request when I get home from work so we can coordinate.

One caveat: I'm having friends over to play Rock Band, so it'll depend on how long they're there. It's possible we might need to push it to tomorrow night.
 
I'm going to advance us shortly. It looks like the Lions and Chargers won't be able to play until tomorrow, so I'm just going to sim it. Lions are vs the Bills so I'm confident they can win the sim and stay as they are in the playoff mix.

Yeah... They lost. I feel bad but we did advance a while ago. I don't know where that puts him in the playoffs but I'll beat the Vikings for him haha.

i'm not gonna sit here and put me losing on the two blocked field goals cuz i made plenty of mistakes before the fg attempts themselves.... but i did feel slighted by the blocks seeing as how i lost by 7 and being down 1 late in the game woulda changed my approach to the last couple minutes. with that said, i block a kick or two simply by controlling the MLB and just shooting the gap... so venom, u got this W but pray to the Madden gods that u dont see us in the playoffs :)

Tom Brady put on a Historic Performance that won't soon be forgotten by Passing for 604 Yards and 8 Touchdowns, Breaking both records for Passing Touchdowns and Yards in a Game. Buffalo had no answer as New England had 3 Receivers over 100 Yards. Kellen Davis (175 Yards, 3 TD) , Brandon Tate (131 Yards, 1 TD) and Sammy Morris (108 Yards), Wes Welker, Sinorice Moss, Pearson DeVaughn, and Chris Weston also tallied touchdowns in the game. New England's Defense played well but was heavily overshadowed by the clinic being put on by the Offense as they tallied 1 Sack and 3 Interceptions. The Patriots have a chance to clinch a First Round Bye with a Win against the New York Jets next week.

Yeah I bet you enjoyed bastard :p, Celtics will pull a win out of their crippled and concussed asses tomorrow, If the NBA has any cells left in their brains they won't suspend Perkins since those fouls weren't worthy of Flagrants. Even the announcers said it, Hopefully Big Baby will be able to go. If the Celtics lose Game 6, I along with the Entire area of New England will be placed on a Suicide Watch, Especially after the Bruins. So I might drop from the League do to my own Demise. :p

Man I had major issues with my internet today...it cuts off for a second during my games so I'm having a tough time being able to get a full game in. Really sorry to the Lions who had to bare with me 3 times and we still couldn't get a full game in. I usually use my wireless adapter but I switched to a direct connection with an ethernet cable and it still disconnected me in the 2nd quarter. While the game is going on, it's really choppy too. If I can't get my game in tonight then I'll have to wait til Monday night at the earliest since I'm probably going home this weekend for Memorial Day. Hopefully we can try again sometime tonight. Lions, let me know if you're willing to give it another shot sometime later...I'm free whenever.
 
I'm lagging like crazy.. I have no realistic shot of being competitive in this game.. I think it would be better to just temp boot me and have him play the CPU. I'm sorry man, this sucks.
 
good game azu. i had soooo much confidence going into the second half.....for crying out loud i was a 1/2 yard away from getting a 3rd touchdown at the end of the first half when i hiked the ball with 1 second left. Great game...kudos on the 4 turnovers you recovered....
 
This is ridiculous, I'm pressing pass and 5 seconds later I'm sacked. I can't believe you're making me play through this, just play the CPU and take the win.
 
I would honestly rather just concede the win to jlarlee than play with this much lag. I'll happily take the loss if that's what it takes.
 
Can't you guys just re-schedule for another day? We're in no rush to get these games done anytime soon. It seems reasonable to just try again tomorrow or another day.
 
It's up to you man. You went up a score and I don't want to come across like I'm trying to get out of it. But I literally couldn't do anything without a 5 second delay, which would be troublesome for me in an offense based on quick plays.

If you want the win, it's yours.
