Madden 10 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE (Tournament)- LOTS OF TEAMS AVAILABLE!

MVP: Breesus
Best QB: Vince Young
Best RB: Ray Rice (semi-sentimental pick - he's a son of Rutgers, but also put up fantastic numbers)
Best WR: Calvin Johnson (#1 in receiving yards, #2 in receptions)
Offensive ROY: Jamarion Bellows
Defensive MVP: Brian Urlacher (led the league in interceptions [9] with 69 tackles to boot)
Defensive ROY: Davon Morisson (kind of hard to determine since the stats page doesn't point out rookies, but 47 tackles, 6 INT, 1 FF are fantastic rookie stats)
Coach/Owner of the Year: ubernes (it doesn't say team owner, so I went with the league "owner" in ubernes, who did a fantastic job running things this season. Oh, 14-2 isn't too bad either :))

Alright Lions, when do you wanna get our game in? Does 4:00 p.m. EST tomorrow work for you? I'm only suggesting that time since that's what time we played last Friday, feel free to alter it at your convenience. If you get this message soon enough and want to play sometime tonight too, that's cool with me.
Wanted to quote and bump this so the Lions didn't miss it.

Oh I PM'ed him the same message too, he already messaged me back. We have our match scheduled for 5:30 p.m. EST today. I guess I'll start working on my nominations in the meantime.
Azu, i'm free all day until about 8.
Great, I'm free all day until about 6. I'll send you a PM, I'm good to play from now until then.

I basically just stole most of BigAT's picks, but ubernes ran the league far more smoothly than I did :p

You guys have scoped Chris Johnson's receiving stats, right? Dude had almost 3000 total offensive yards and 24 TDs. ;)

Oh well, these are still just the nominations. You have time to see the error of your ways. :D

Assuming we do move forward in a day or so....BigAt, I won't be available until Sunday afternoon @ the earliest...sometime after 3pm est

Bengals/Pats - My availability for the weekend is pretty solid except for Saturday night when I have plans. But I could play tonight (should we advance today), tomorrow morning or afternoon, or anytime Sunday.

If I can pull off a miracle, I could probably play at Midnight or 1am EST when I get home tonight. Otherwise, Sunday is pretty open.

My friend is getting married Sunday and I'm in the wedding party, so Monday is likely the earliest I can play.

My answer depends on what you're getting home from. If it's a night of drinking and revelry.. I'd say try and play it tonight. ;)

Haha, you would have been lucky if it was the last couple weekends, but sadly you're out of luck this time :D
That kind of stuff will have to wait for the end of exams :)

Wierd...Im in a wedding this weekend too (Saturday)....but Monday anytime after 5pm est will work for me.

I've advanced, Beat SD 35-21, it would have been 35-7 but San Diego pulled off the most bullshit picks I've seen. I held them to only 101 Total Yards (19 Rush, 82 Pass)

It's the playoffs man, a win is a win is a win. ;)

Besides, what are you doing throwing up 35-7 in the 4th quarter of a playoff game? haha

Quite True Hah, Now I wait and see who I play round 2. I get Moss back if can make it to the AFC Championship.

Totally following the game on xbox.com from work (through Azu's status).. Looks like the Ravens are still up 14-10 in the 3rd Quarter.

Bengals take the lead! 17-14 in the 3rd.

(Yes, I have a vested interest in the outcome of this game).

I'm curious who you're rooting for venom? Would you rather try your luck against me, or get a chance at revenge against the Jets?

As fate would have it, I'm going to have to get through my own favorite team to make it to the AFC Championship game. It's you and me Patriots. :D

You're not gonna try that kick blocking bullshit on me, right? ;)

FINAL FROM BALTIMORE

Bengals 17
Ravens 21

An absolutely incredible game in every sense of the word. A crushing loss, sure, but both of us played an incredibly strong game.
Joe Flacco had a QB rating of 34, and Palmer posted a rating of 46.
Antonio Bryant and Chad Ochocinco combined for a total of 0 receptions.
The Bengals lost Benson in the 3rd quarter, and Leon Hall and Chinedum Ndukwe in the 4th (although Ndukwe recovered a fumble and had a magnificent interception before getting hurt).
I really don't see anybody stopping the Ravens...

It'll be interesting for sure. Looking back at the matchups, it looks like the Ravens handled the Jets pretty well in Week 3, but that was a while ago.

I believe ubernes is the only remaining AFC owner who's played everybody else (he and I had a scrimmage a while back) so that might be an advantage from a scouting perspective.

Venom and I have yet to see each other, and it should be a very interesting clash in playstyles.

Deuce, congrats. Now time for revenge!

When are you available? We should be advancing around 630 to tonight. So I could do 7 or we could figure out something for the weekend.

Just to throw it out there...there really is no point in nominating the same people over and over again lol, nominations are just to get the player on the "ballot" or whatever and then voting will determine who was actually the best in each category. That's why I'm kind of hesitant to make any nominations cause I'm pretty sure you guys have all of the most competent choices down already.

Haha I'd like to see Ubernes in the Title Game when I've got Moss back. But as long as I make it, I guess I didn't really have a clear preference though. Ah well obviously Pats are my Favorite too haha, it'll be an interesting game. Any specific time your available BV? I can play Tonight after I get back from the movies, I'm leaving at about 7:40. So I'll be home around like 10:30. Let me know what's good for you.

I was hoping people would figure that out on their own, haha. But yes, we will be voting later this week once all noms are in.

11:00 Eastern?

So looks like the Bears won. I'm going to advance us as soon as I can but my Internet is down. :( Hopefully it's back before I head out tonight.
11:00 Eastern?
This might not happen as it turns out.

Just check in here around then, if I'm here I'll be checking in. If not, we have all weekend.

It doesn't look like were advancing anytime soon. Time Warner is down all over Brooklyn. Has been for a couple hours now and I'm heading out in 20. I'll try when I get back late tonight or hopefully in the morning. Will update when I move us along. Sorry guys!

Nothing you can do man. We're not in any rush, since Ram can't play until Sunday anyway.

Ube... seems as if we're not advancing til sun at the earliest so i'm free all day sunday, monday after 6 est, tuesday all day...

I'm lookin to get back at the Patriots for their W in the regular season so i'm kinda rootin for Venom in the divisional round. I'm hoping the Saints get to the Super Bowl cuz i owe Scotts a loss. My 3 losses to finish the season felt like i just didnt show up to play so i've already gotten back at Azu... Venom, ur next!!!!!

I just advanced us! Just turned on as I was about to walk out the door.

Weird change of plans:
Pats vs Jets
Titans vs Ravens
Bears vs Saints
Niners vs Giants

I don't know why they did it that way, but I look forward to playing the Pats again. Venom, let me know when you're available Sat or Sun. I guess we can just talk on Facebook.

edit: they must've just compared Pats/Ravens records and with the alphabet tiebreaker gave the Pats to me as the more difficult option? that's all I can think of.

That's really weird... Looks like the NFC got seeded correctly, though that might have just been a coincidence. It's probably just set up as a simple bracket*, which is extraordinarily dumb of them, but no surprise given the tiebreakers.

Naturally the Ravens were the only team I didn't scout since I was certain they were the only one I wouldn't have to play. Ugh.

*edit: No, even that wouldn't make sense, since then as the 1 I'd play the winner of the 4-5 game. There's no logical explanation I can think of why the 1 would ever play the 3 in the divisional round.

That's really screwy...

Anyway, the team ratings are out for next year. Here they are:

Only 14? Can't wait to prove you wrong dude. ;)

21-14 was our last score I think. Switch it up! Haha.

Glad I don't gave to go through both the Titans and Ravens, though the Pats are no cake walk.

edit: I saw you did 21-17 now. iPhone viewing is not the best. So I guess the Pats will be inching closer. Gotta keep Moss out of this 2010 season, send him packing!

I must also note that I feel terrible for wanting Madden 11. I got so sick of Madden 10... then again, it did take 8 months. I just haven't gone without a football game in almost 15 years, basically since I started watching the sport regularly. I went from a year or two of Madden to NFL Quarterback Club to NFL2K through 2K5, then back to Madden.

Madden 06 (old Xbox) sucked and I traded it in quickly. I hated the vision cone, and I had Brett Favre at my disposal, even! Madden 07 was great on the Xbox; not so great on the 360. The 360's pretty graphics won me over, though. I do miss the features in the Xbox version of 07 where you could hit the right stick up to drop players back in overage and down to blitz them. Also, 1 second post hike, you could press up for pass commit or down for run commit. The best feature? You could pause and save games in progress and restart them later. Bring that back, EA!

Not Bad, Pats are 4th in the AFC for Madden. Anyways UB I'm just getting home, about to sleep. So I'll probably sleep a good part of the day, hah. We can aim for later in the afternoon if you want. If not I'll send you a Facebook message when I get up and we can set up a time.
