Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!
looks like I should finally get Randy Moss back in time to play the Jets
just in time for him to be shut down. :bouncy:
Yeah, this weekend I'll likely open that up.
I had some time...
Anyone has a 82 + corner they are willing to deal?
Might be open to trading Winfield or Griffin not sure which. Send me a PM.
Well in Matt's defense, there are definitely a lot of players in this league that go out of their way to actively schedule matches while others take a much more passive approach and wait to be contacted. When a team or two end up holding up the league trying to play their games, a lot of times it's because it is one of those passive schedulers against another passive scheduler and they just go about with all their daily business and when it's nearing the deadline, they all of a sudden try to schedule things and then end up having conflicts and stuff. If everyone tried to schedule their games as soon as possible, I don't see why we can't advance in 2-3 days every week. I admit I probably have a lot more free time than a lot of people in this league, but not being able to set aside 45 minutes for a match every few days or so seems kind of ridiculous to me. And for the people who time after time struggle to find the free time to get their matches in, it seems like maybe they shouldn't really be in the league to begin with.

I noticed Matt is making a respectable effort to actively schedule matches this season, so I'm kind of inclined to side with him on this one, although I wouldn't go as far as to say he should cease to accommodate players in the future with scheduling issues. I just think Matt is doing everything he can on his end to get his games played, especially being from the West Coast when the majority of this league is from the east coast. I don't mean any disrespect to Scotts, but I would definitely consider him one of the more passive schedulers in the league, solely judging from my own personal experience (I've played him probably 4-5 times over the 3+ seasons I've played here). No one expects people to ditch work early simply to play a Madden game, but I don't understand why it's a hard concept to understand that someone would be upset if they schedule a match with their opponent at a certain time and he doesn't show up without sending any kind of message or anything. I obviously don't know what kinds of messages were sent back and forth in this particular situation, but I'm speaking more generally since I've been stood up on numerous occasions in the past. Obviously if you get stood up you're gonna be upset and ask why your opponent didn't show up...but you don't have to be sarcastic and say something like "what, do you expect me to leave work early just for a game of Madden?", just say sorry and that you got held up at work...things like that annoy me.

There is my rant of the day...thanks to my loyal fan-base that read it.
It was more the lack of communication than anything. he had been on, but hadn't replied to messages. I had asked him for a specific time in the 2 days following him saying "after 9 Eastern", but he never got back to me. I've just had a ton of problems scheduling games with various people in here, and then a lot of games this season that have dropped. I had to play a replacement in a division game, and I had to replay a game I could have won against Minnesota and lost due to barely being conscious.

It's bad enough that I can't get in touch with or have trouble playing with people, especially when I have to alter my other plans. But, while I don't really mention it much, but I have ADD and depression, so it's kind of hard to completely adjust my state of mind when I have to accommodate for all sorts of things. With my aforementioned issues plus insomnia, I've still never tried to cancel or delay a game except once when someone died, and I had to play that day anyway. I've delayed several games for other people at my own expense, so it'd at least have been nice to have gotten some communication.

Anyway, predictably, the game was a mess. Total yards were actually pretty even, and I accomplished a lot more on offense. 4 of his 5 touchdowns were 1 play drives, seeing 60-80 yard rushes from Reggie Bush. The 5th came on an actual drive after an onside kick recovery, and he kept trying to score (and succeeded) instead of taking a knee with 1:41 left. I, on the other hand, got the ball inside Saints territory multiple times but ended up having to punt due to worrying about kick lag for the field goal (the game was lagging a lot) and I was intercepted in the end zone and at the 15, I believe.

Playing Doomtime in a little while.
Anybody know how to get ahold of Sir Felgar?

I have sent him a msg on CAG and Xbox and still nothing
How long ago did you send them? ;)
How long ago did you send them? ;)
Msg (CAG) was two days ago and XBL was early this am. Im not too worried, just wanted to see if anybody knew him personally or the best way to get ahold of him

The Jags are taking offers for wide receivers, since I lack talented ones. Almost anyone is up for grabs at this point except MJD and Garrard. If you have any offers please PM me.

NY defeats Miami, 52-12. Jets are rolling going into their highly anticipated week 6 matchup with the Raiders.

All defense for the Jets. Miami held the Jets run game in check so the short field they were able to work with helped a lot. NY forced 7 turnovers, 4 of which were returned for TDs. Cromartie led the team with 2 INTs, 2 TDs and 4 tackles. Lowery had an INT and a fumble recovery for a TD. GG.

Steve Smith and Jonathan Stewart are on the trading block if anyone is interested. PM with amazing offers!!!!!!!!!!! Not looking for any position in particular...I think I'm good on all offensive positions, and linebackers on defense (and obviously kickers)...anything else I will consider.

P.S. I won!!!! Everyone congratulate me!

Injury bug bites the Raiders again as Zach Miller is now out for 4 weeks with an abdominal tear. Huge loss!

Raiders over Packers 33-7.

Yeah, he had several big catches. I lost Tramon Williams to the same injury.

I started out winning 7-0, but it was all downhill from there. As expected, Doomtime slaughtered me. I had a couple decent drives, but I either had to punt or turned the ball over while trying to play catchup.
Rams and Jags have agreed to a trade:

Jags get:

Donnie Avery WR (81)
1st Round Draft Pick

Rams get:

Justin Durant ROLB (86)
Derek Cox CB (82)
I'd say yes to that.

The ending to my game was so Madden silly it's not even funny. I punted to pin him at the 1 with 1 timeout and a minute and a half left, and of course the first play is a 99 yard HB screen out of the endzone, a play that could only work in Madden. I drove back down and took the lead again followed by a kickoff return for a TD. Just preposterous.

BV got beat by a long screen pass for a loss? That seems fitting. :D

BV, I PM'ed you earlier about the trade.

Oh, and after Adam/Dolphins said that stuff about me not bending over backwards to accommodate people anymore, he tried to "teach me a lesson" by continuously jacking up 3/4 court shots and intentionally fouling me from the 3rd quarter on in our NBA 2K11 game. What a guy.

It's obvious BV what your team is missing...a good WR. Go ahead and throw me some sweet offers for Steve Smith, I guarantee the rest of your season will go smoothly!!
Yeah, I saw. I'm not sure it works without Williams in it, since he won't be healthy until after the deadline..

I'm actually working on another trade which might ship out another "core" player though, and I only have 2 left I can do this season..
What's that supposed to mean?
You run a lot of screens. At least more than the average person I've played.

It's missing the ability to play defense, lol. And now it's missing Antonio Gates for the season. :bomb: Glad I have that extra WR now.
You run a lot of screens. At least more than the average person I've played.
I don't actually, maybe 3 or 4 a game, depending on what the D is giving me. You've seen how terrible my running game is though, screens are the option if I want to kill the clock. I call screens a lot more than I actually run them, since usually I have my other guys running routes and the screen is the checkdown.

Sources in Baltimore say that the reigning defensive player of the year, Ed Reed, is being shopped around the league. No word yet on potential destinations, but the consensus is Reed will be traded before the deadline...

Interested in the corpse of Antonio Gates? :D He should be healthy just in time for the playoffs.

very tempting if for no other reason than to remove a threat from your offense, but Todd Heap and my rookie TE would have a fit

Breaking:

In their continued effort to drag themselves out of mediocrity (likely a lost cause at this point), the Chargers have agreed on a blockbuster trade with the Bengals, shipping two starting linebackers out of town in a move to shore up their piss-poor secondary by adding a legit #1 corner.

For review:

Chargers get:
Jonathan Joseph - CB - 94
Rashad Jeanty - LOLB - 75
James Brown - LE - 59

Bengals get:
Stephen Cooper - MLB - 83
Shawne Merriman - ROLB - 82
Josh Reed - WR - 73
Donald Strickland - CB - 66
5th Round Pick

since week six if the deadline for trades, would anyone be opposed to a trade involving an injured player being accepted now and the trade actually happening when that player is healthy (two weeks)?

I'd have no problem with that, though would you be holding the non-injured players out in the meantime?

so this is why he rejected my offer... I feel slightly robbed since the bengals don't really need any more lbs (rivers and maualuga are animals)

Mauluga was traded by the previous Bengals owner for Matt Leinart, and Rivers is out for the year.

it would be hard because he is a starter but I guess it would make sense to sit him

If it makes you feel any better, based on how the Madden gods punished my Austin acquisition by knocking Gates out for the season in the very next game, after the bye Jammer and Cason will probably collide with each other and each break a collar bone, leaving me with Joseph and then a bunch of guys in the 60s. :bomb:

We don't play by Week 14, so it's a good bet. Based on how the season's gone so far by then I may be in full on "tank for a better pick" mode. :bomb:

How did Austin treat you in the game you played? He's fast and elusive. Sorry to hear yur having a crummy season.

He was quiet, but I didn't target him all that much. With all the receiving threats in my offense there's really no telling who's going to have a big game from week to week.
