Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!

Rams and Eagles are having issues. It keeps saying St. Louis has a roster issue, needs two WRs and CBs and one player at every other position. From my end, his roster looks fine. He even tried adding a free agent, but his roster is full.

Ideas?

His roster looks fine on XFN - are there any injuries at any position that may be causing this? That is all I can think of...

Have him try dropping from the franchise, re-joining, and then re-ordering the depth chart.

Scratch that. He has no LOLB, tell him to pick one up.

Anybody interested in Frank Gore , and Jonathan Joseph did have a good defensive week , should be a good number two player of the week.

Yeah... I was happy all week and then Berry comes along with his five picks. Just stop throwing it to that side of the field! :D

Lmao...I guess you think 5 picks by Berry has it locked up for you...he def deserves it

The Eagles beat the Rams 31-21.

Asante Samuel had two interceptions, while DeSean Jackson caught two touchdown passes. Rookie Brandon Cotton debuted with two receptions for 14 yards. LeSean McCoy starred as well, rushing nine times for 111 yards and a touchdown.

Sam Bradford went 31-for-41 with 348 yards, three touchdowns and two picks. St. Louis rushed five times for three net yards. Bradford connected with Hardesty 19 times for 120 on a series of screen passes.
I'm no expert, but that seems like a lot.
He dunked off to him a ton because I had picked him twice with Samuel and although I had no sacks, I was getting a ton of pressure.

It's not cool to throw to your running back 10, 15, 20 times in a game, especially on screen passes. This is supposed to be "sim" style gameplay. Let's try to keep it as close to the real thing as possible folks.

I agree, and I was actually making the same point in the other thread earlier.

Screen passes to your h/b should not be used that many times in my opinion. 19 times sounds a bit excessive. Look for different plays like slants or drags and stay away from Samuel if you had a hard time with him picking you off.

Cover three ftw against the screen. User control the mlb on the side you think he's going to screen pass to and strip the ball, the hit stick is over rated.

I'm sort of indifferent about it, more so because it wasn't effective than anything else. He was averaging like 6 yards per reception I think, but they did allow him to go on a few long drives which he could in the first half.

There is something to be said for it though, because no matter the defense it's hard to limit a play like that to fewer than 4-8 yards, especially when Bradford scrambles back to create holes and blockers.

Tanabeo...did you get my PM, my control panel says that I don't have any messages sent. Just wondering if it went through.

In defense of the Rams/GregThomas, Hardesty had 53 receptions all of last season so this isn't something he usually does. More of a broad criticism I'd say.

I think we can all agree that screen plays can be extremely effective in this game and used to exploit at times.

There is nothing wrong with running a screen as a change of pace or as a part of your play-calling strategy every now and then. But, the numbers that I've seen for receptions for running backs between this thread and the other one [J.Best had 17 catches in a game M.Hardesty with 19] are an indication that some aren't familiar with what we are trying to maintain in this fine league of ours.

We are trying to stay away from the ranked match "madden-money" "cheesy" "exploit" style that you typically see when playing online. We would like for everyone to try to stay as true to real play-calling as maddenly possible.

I saw a good amount of screens from gregthomas when I played him last season but it didn't start until I took away the deep ball... I just looked at it as him trying to find a way to move the ball.

Anyone who looks at my stats/games from last year knows that the screen is not my thing. I prefer the deep ball. However, The Eagles defense was stiffling, and Bradford was just trying to get SOMETHING going. Our third touchdown was set up because we ran a screen but threw to the opposite side receiver deep instead.

Nothing was working except the screen so I stuck with it. If I was screening someone into oblivion it would be one thing, but I was just trying not to lose by thirty.

this.

I'm not saying that Mr. Thomas is trying to exploit because I don't believe that at all.

Just in general, moving forward let's all try to stick to sim-style game-play.

When I played the Rams last season, I don't recall numerous screen passes in his defense. I was just making a point that numerous hb screen do suck either online or in a franchise game. I'm a pass first, ask questions later team.

That is perfectly fine but, 17or19 receptions by a RB is a little over-kill imho...

There are plenty of plays that beat-blitzes other than screens

Agree 100%, but I wasn't going to beat you by 30. ;)

When your TE caught that tipped pass for twenty something yards deep on my side of the field, I said to myself, "Its going to be one of those days".

Later, McCoy rips something like an 80 yard run. I wanted to cry.

Two picks by Samuels, yikes.

I figured short screen passes are like long runs. They take up time and give us the chance for drives.

Couldn't agree more.

Its starting to piss me off I get in. Trouble for shit but everytime I play people they do shit against the rules to me... first quarter fourth and one and he goes for it from my 30.

I think this means that Kayholiday should have to have McNabb throw the ball into the ground five feet short of his receivers all game and replace him with Grossman with two minutes left in the game.

That's annoying. I'll talk to him.

That means that as the Texans owner you have to find new and exciting ways to lose each week. Winning is strictly prohibited!
I think next game, I will try WR screens for the whole game. :)
I can never get those to work in Madden.

What was the wind like? In the Bears-Panthers game in the other league we passed up a bunch of FGs (2 for me, 1 for him) in similar situations because of the conditions.

On a clear day or inside though, that should obviously be a kicking situation.

Yeah, come to think of it, I definitely don't think the Raiders and Panthers owners got the "sim-style" memo. Hey guys, you are supposed to suck.
Awesome, awesome. Obviously if sprice/redygo play at noon we'll wait for this one.
Confirming that. My text marker must have moved while I was typing that last post. I meant between 11 A.M. and noon Pacific. Looks like 11/2 is going to be it.
I'm playing so AC Brotherhood right now if anybody wants to join me
I can't right now since I'm at work, but I've yet to open the game and wouldn't be opposed to trying out the multiplayer with some of you fine gents.

Didn't you notice, I tried to do that with all my might last season, barely finishing 9-7 and missing the playoffs just like my real-life counterparts did last year...

It was 14 mph I didn't think about that..... I dunno if it was for him or against him tho but I didn't realize it mattered.... he said I had strike two wen I was down against doomtime 21 3 and went for it on 4th and 2 to me that's eligible to cus I'm on my 30 if I miss I'm the dumbass that gave him the ball that close to my endzone... but I see wat ur saying sorry I complained

For the record it was 4th and 1 from the 35 and I don't have the best kicker in the world.

But according to the rules if u can't kick a field goal u can't go for it right or wrong it can go either way..... to the rules u guys have id assume if u can't kick a field goal then u gotta punt...... but if it was me that went for it id be called a cheater and prob kicked outta the league that's my problam with it so I'm just asking on wut should of happened so if it comes up again I know if I'm on offense I can go for it cus of the wind and not be booted from the league
