Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!
It says you'd get the W but I think that's the only message it displays. It just counts the results as is. It's always good to just ask the person you're playing, but 2+ score lead with under a minute remaining, might as well count it.
How would I know that it is lying to me? It told me I would get the win, and that obviously didn't seem fair.
I wouldn't be opposed to him getting his win via CPU if he wants. Just don't run up the score.

If I had hit "count the game" and it had given me the win (which is what I thought it would do), I would probably been booted from the league.
If he's frustrated because he threw those picks and felt like he could have played better, I have no problem with that. My issue is with crap like "you can't sustain an offense" and "you only ran 3 plays", it's just petty bullshit and it's not good sportsmanship.
Lol well yeah you have every right to take issue with that...that was out of line, but to me you seemed a little hostile before that post by calling him a sore loser. Things definitely escalated after that...

I didn't say you would know. I'm explaining it to you for future reference. The same options just came up for me when I subbed for the Falcons and the game disconnected and I was down 3 with little time left. I counted it and he got the W still.

I'd say it's probably because we agreed to disagree and I thought it was over and then he opened it up again by editing his post with a bunch of stats which he felt proved his point (they didn't). He's the one who brought it up again after we'd both let it go and to me that seemed like being a sore loser, which he admitted. The crap about how I played is, in addition to being ridiculous, uncalled for and I said so. All I ever said at the outset was good game, which it was, all the other crap which followed has come from the other direction.

OK. Well go ahead and boot me so he can get in his CPU win. Seems like the most fair thing.

Yeah after re-reading everything I do think he was definitely being smug about it...I know things can get heated right after a loss (especially for the loser), so I probably should have just shut my mouth and let this thing die out on its own by tomorrow. People have the right to say they gave the game away from their own poor play, but picking on their opponent's play style is unnecessary and childish unless there is some kind of exploit being made. Especially in a league full of grandpas like this one...

I was fine with letting it go before and still am.

The funny thing is Orton put up a 156.25 rating and Peterson had 16.6 yards per carry, not to mention the 10 points I left on the field (kicking lagged out of a fg, and Peterson sliding down to let me kill the clock on his last run rather than taking it another 70 or so yards for the TD with open field in front of him) so I should probably just grin and shake my head at any thoughts of my not being able to sustain an offense. I'd hate to see what I could do someday if I can sustain one.

Bye week sucks. Funny the Bucs are ranked 8th with a 3-3 record. Lets see how long that lasts, so far XFN likes the Bucs. LOL

I never would've criticized your offense if you hadn't thrown the first blow ("sore loser" "give it up" etc..).

It was a good game, I turned it over too many times and I still don't feel like I was outplayed (my only real point). I executed my game-plan almost to perfection (complimentary football, efficient offense and clock control) but turnovers cost me the game, imo (which I am entitled to and I don't feel that that should be offensive)

I'm not gonna continue with the back and forth, this is my last post on the subject.

Like I said before, BV, I really hope I get to play you again sometime soon. That is all.
It's not offensive at all, it's the unnecessary critical crap which was directed at me which was offensive. You're the one who brought it back up after we'd put it to bed (I thought) so me calling you a sore loser was just calling it like it is, which you acknowledged so obviously we agree on that much at least.

That's my last post on the subject as well.

If someone loses a close game and says "man I suck...I can't believe I threw so many dumb picks", I can't imagine that person being called a sore loser.
That seems to be how 3/4 of my losses come about, and in very close games. The other 1/4 (estimated), I just got demolished.

I sent a PM to neworlbush today. He responded very quickly in the thread, so we should have no problem getting that one booked.

Now that I just bought myself a PS3 (and am almost definitely getting Madden for it too so I can play online with my friends), I went to the PS3 forums on here to check if they have a league over there too. I found one league, and after reading into it a bit...I really appreciate Uber and this league in general about a hundred times more. That league is a complete MESS! First of all, they only play 1 game a week which would be torture for me. Aside from that, I think their league was like barely half-filled...and throughout the course of an entire season, their thread got up to a whopping 8 pages. And upon creating the league...the first act performed by their commissioner was to snatch up all the best free agents for himself lol. His response was "we never put in any rules for Free Agency...hit me up if you want to trade for any of them" or something along those lines. We don't know how good we have it over here...

I've peeked in that thread a few times as well, it's quite amusing how poorly organized they are. We've managed to get two successful leagues through a total of 4 seasons (and counting) in the same time they managed to do one. I almost feel ashamed to own a PS3. :D

Lol yeah I saw that thread too. It was horrible. I'll hook up my PS3 to add you guys on there. Haven't played it in around 6 months.

I'm Doomtime1 on PSN because some jerk decided to steal my name. :bomb:

Yeah trying to remember the last game I played on there. I believe it was 3D Dot Game Heroes. That and Final Fantasy VIII(my personal fave). I think it's about that time again.

Anyone know how to get ahold of the Bears(Superstar)? xtreme-football.net shows the Bears as CPU - did he drop?. I want to get my game in tonight if possible and he has not returned my PM from yesterday/today.

He's usually good with PMs. XFN will say it's CPU unless someone actually joins the XFN site and I assign them to their team. I'm pretty sure Superstar still have the Bears in the game.

Replied to your PM. Sorry I am at work until 5 eastern so I usually get on around 6-6:30. PM's are the best way to get ahold of me for future reference :)

Trading deadline is this week, right? I'm in talks with a couple of people about Antonio Gates, but willing to hear all offers. Open to picks (would probably have to start at a 1st rounder) and defensive players at positions of need.

Falcons Trading Block:
RE John Abraham (88 ovr, 34 years old)
TE Tony Gonzales (98 ovr, 36 years old)
CB Dunta Robinson (83 ovr, 34 years old)
LOLB Mike Peterson (82 ovr, 36 years old)

Looking for:
young LEs with high potential
young LOLBs with high potential
young CBs with high potential
youngish TE with high overall

fuck... if ever there was a perfect example of someone gift wrapping a game for an opponent, this one was it. I threw 5 interceptions (1 pick six), fumbled twice, and lost 1 of them. 3 of my interceptions were stupid throws by me trying to force something, including a pick six when I was down by 3 and in the red zone, and then the last one came when I was simply trying to score as quickly as possible to have any chance to come back.. The other 2 came when he just plain made a good play on the ball, and then when Rodgers was hit hard while throwing. I believe 3 interceptions I threw were when I was in the red zone; at least 2.

I mean no disrespect to neworlbush, because he played well (and fair) when he had the ball and was able to force me into making bad decisions, but I should have won this game. I gave away so many opportunities. My own stupid mistakes caused me to lose, just as they have contributed to my downfall in seasons past. The sad thing is that I know they're dumb plays, but my armchair "gunslinger" mentality from 15+ years of watching the Packers kicks in and I try to make some crazy throw. Half the time, it works (see Jermichael Finley today) but it's always risky.

New Orleans Saints 27, Green Bay Packers 17

EDIT: One more thing, about uniform selection- I'm not mad because this is a trivial issue, but I am curious as to why I was forced to wear away colors at Lambeau Field. I was the home team and chose home green uniforms, while neworlbush chose black with black pants. That could get confusing in certain matchups (although I'm guessing the black pants were to help differentiate?) and it's odd that Madden made the home etam wear road whites when it wasn't Dallas, Miami, etc.

Good game Matt Young..

We both made our fair share of mistakes, starting with me throwing a pick on the first play of the game and setting you up to score easily on your first play from the LOS.
I was very impressed with my running game, I wish I could have ran more because you had trouble stopping it.
I thought the game was yours after Shockey fumbled, but Patrick Robinson made an easy play to jump in front of your receiver for a pick 6.

After Patrick Robinson's 2 interception game, he is no longer on the trading block..

All true. Your runs to the outside often caught me off guard. I'm usually good about picking those up, but you outwitted me there. However, it cannot be argued that my mistakes were far more costly than yours. You fumbled once and got it right back, and then the interception you threw did lead to me scoring the opening touchdown.

But my turnovers, while you did have to drive down the field on a couple of them, led to 4 of your 5 scores. At the same time, when I threw the picks, I was within field goal range on at least 3 of them. My mistakes which you capitalized on took points off the board for me on top of allowing you to gain possession and then beat my defense.

I don't mean to sound like a sore loser, or to discredit your skills. You may well have gotten your points anyway without me turning it over, but I feel like I blew some damn excellent chances to get more for myself. I am only angry at myself. You simply played smarter and won.

sent pms to both my opponents(darth and sirfelgar) this week, hoping to get games knocked out tonight

if I'm not online pm me on cag and ill jump online

While I haven't put up my official block yet, I can say that I'm open to offers for- but certainly not limited to- the following players or positions:

GREEN BAY PACKERS:

1 or 2 fullbacks (I have several good backups, 1 or 2 with starting potential maybe by next season)
DT BJ Raji
SS Atari Bigby
TE Donald Lee
MLB AJ Hawk
Draft picks (besides 1st round)

That's just a few off the top of my head. There are many more guys I'd be willing to consider in offers if the right deal comes along. I'm looking to receive players at the following positions:

My main wants are a WR (Min. 80 OVR) and maybe a CB, followed by a few positions on both the offensive and defensive lines.

Check out my receivers, I would be interested in Raji, Bibby or Hawk.

I could offer Massaquoi (82) or Foster (80).

Here are all the trade block posts I could find. If I'm missing some let me know and I can add it. Also if anyone has a problem with me doing this, let me know and I'll delete this post.
