Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!
Dammit, Kay and I just disconnected when I was up 21-0. Is there a rule about letting get my lead back (atleast part)? Normally I wouldn't care about a 7 or 10 point lead, but 21 seems pretty big.... let me know as soon as possible BV, uberness, sheriff, and others. We are replaying in 30 minutes.
More info: I had just scored and he had the ball at his 25 with 1:xx left in the 2nd quarter.
There's no rule on this, though I sometimes think there should be but it seems most of the time if someone is winning convincingly enough that they usually win the second time around. I just told gbpackers via PM that he should be spotted 10 points. I think that's a fair middle ground. Kay can have the ball, but he should allow 10 points.

Kay is allowing me to get my full 21 point lead back, and then letting the clock run to the two minute warning. Hats off to you man, great sportsmanship :)

I think if he got up 21 he can do it again, I don't see why anyone should be spotted a lead at all.

Rex Ryan as anyone but Jabba just seems inaccurate.

Yeah I'd never ask anyone to spot me points, but I can understand people who do. It makes sense logically, but yeah like people said before...if I'm able to attain that much of a lead in the first game, I should be able to in the second one too. Although that didn't work so well in our game Week 1...lol. Not that I had a huge lead or anything (in the 2nd game), but it was a lot better than that 45-7 blowout.

You guys are making me feel like a deusche. I just have a feeling that if we start from scratch that I will end up losing, maybe costing me the playoffs.

Lol I don't think anyone thinks it's a douschey thing to do at all. Like I said, it's perfectly reasonable...I have some personal selfish reasons why I don't like to do it. I think the game would be more boring (for me at least) if someone was gonna spot me points and just let me score and run down the clock to where we were the previous game. And it would make for some uncharacteristic stats for my players too. I'm assuming when someone spots you points, it's most likely gonna be on a long 80 yard pass play or something on an all-out blitz. My QB and receivers are gonna end up with some atypically high stats which I wouldn't want to be there at the end of the season when it's time for awards. And just so I can see how effective I was personally with my QB and receivers.....those stats would just skew things. It's all really just selfish reasons (and laziness) on my part, so you shouldn't feel bad at all for it. Not to say that Kay isn't doing a very nice thing on his part to agree to it....that's definitely very respectable on his part.

I would gladly take all the points in stride.

Yea it would be insanely boring to me as well, I spotted someone a 14 point lead once in another league and set the clock up to be 1:30 in the 2nd it was a huge waste of time.

I feel like their should be a rule though, just for future reference. Say someone wanted to be spotted those points, could I refuse? I say half the points (assuming they had a 14+ lead) and give them the ball would be a good idea. But I hate waiting to run the clock out.

i actually agree with what Kay is doing cuz this year's madden isnt just about user ability. Momentum plays a big part in many of these games and to gameplan for an opponent... u play them and the game d/c... u've already shown your gameplan and it was working. U cant come into the replay of that game and expect to have it work the same way. The opponent knows what to look for and starts to counter it... it isnt fair to the person who's winning to just restart a game from 0-0.

I couldn't agree more with this. I didn't bring it up but I had this issue with someone in the other league (I won't say who). The first game I'd built up a big lead and they were pretty much 50/50 run/pass and I was stuffing the run like nobody's business. We try again and the second game plan features almost no running whatsoever. Seems a bit off that there's almost this subtle advantage to the team that was trailing that they got to see the gameplan, like Deuce said. Usually the better team will win anyway, but not always, so I agree what kay's doing is just fine (I didn't specifically cover this in the other league's disconnect policy, but I think if both sides agree it's great).

Speaking of disconnects mog and I were lagging pretty awful in what had been a spirited 7-7 game. Then I threw what we'll call a "lagpick" and he threw one right back and we both agreed conditions weren't ideal, lol. We're fiddling with the things you fiddle with and trying again.

Even worse this time... Considering Mog needs this game more than I do, does anyone have a problem if I drop and let him play the CPU? I assume the only ones who might are sprice and doom, so I wanted to check it with the league first. At this point in the week it seems like a better solution than to keep trying and getting this in, and the only alternative really is to sim it.

Edit: We're gonna try one more time.

I decided that although the 21 point lead would be nice, it wouldn't be fun. The reason I play in this league is for fun and whats fun about watching the clock run down for 10 minutes. We started the game off fresh and I won 24-35. One thing I am disappointed about is that in the 1st game Matt Ryan had 3 TDS and 0 interceptions in the 1st half, while in the second game he had 1 TD and 1 interception throughout the whole game, so much for MVP :-({|=
GG kay!

Mog and I are having no luck.. If the league has no problem with it I'm still fine with letting him play the CPU (with the obvious no injuring my guys caveat) since this game's bigger for him.. If there's an issue with that it will likely be a sim.
I vote sim
I figured you might. He went Away on XBL so I PMed him to stop by the thread before we advance.
same. I don't think anybody should just be getting wins.
My reasoning was pretty much that the game means more to him. He's also won the 3 times we've played each other, for what it's worth.

For once I'm pretty sure it's EA's servers and not my connection. I'm fine with a sim but also with letting him play the CPU, I have no delusions about winning the West.

From a neutral standpoint I don't think it makes sense to let him play the CPU just because it's (arguably) a bigger game for him (it's way too early in the season for you to essentially be giving up in getting to the playoffs BV). In this league, if 2 people have trouble connecting, it's always resulted in a sim...I don't think this game should be an exception. However, if you think the connection issues are coming from your side BV, then I think it's right to drop and let mog play the CPU. If it's just the Madden servers, then a sim seems to be the obvious choice. I had to type this post on my phone so I hope I'm not too late :)

I'm pretty sure it's the servers, not my connection. Usually if it's me my internet is at a crawl in general, which it isn't now.

If that's what the general consensus is it's fine with me, though again I don't really mind.. But I suppose the point that it affects Doom and Sprice as well is fair. If only ubernes were here to decide, I don't feel comfortably making a decision as temp commish which affects my game.

I think its fair because I been online ready to play and me and harris done tried 3 or 4 times already and I don't think its fair for me to take a loss cause my team isn't stacked everything I do for tha most part is user and I know ima lose this game if its simmed (my team overall a 73; harris team is a 85 and I don't want to get knocked out the playoffs already

For what it's worth I've never won a sim game in like 4 seasons, lol. My offer was sincere though, I honestly don't care how it ends up (my outlook on my playoff prospects is gloomier than the Sheriff's is :D)
Wouldn't a sub be a good solution for this problem? (I'm looking at you MA ;))
A sub for who though? We don't know whose end the problem is on, if either.

If in all three of ur games he was winning before it disconnected let him play the comp.... I like competition so if 3 games u couldn't finish then that's not his fault.. id be pissed if my game got simmed and I got an unearned loss..... mogs a good player and at worse have him play a sub... siming is unfair..... I play mog all the time we never have had a disconnect issue...

I don't know who is at fault here scheduling-wise, but this is exactly why you shouldn't wait until the night of advancing to play your game. If you guys tried to play earlier you would've had a good chance of avoiding all this. I know BV is okay with whatever happens, so this is mostly to mog...but like I said I'm not sure who's fault it is that the game was scheduled for the night of advancement.

And about me subbing lol...even if this was a proper game for a player to sub (which I don't think it is)...I'm not even home, hence why I'm typing on my stupid phone lol. And I think I'm done subbing anyways (especially for BV lol)...I feel too bad when I lose, probably even worse than when I lose with my own team.

Also before u advance no one has talked bout me and greg thomas trade... id like to know if its goin through or not before the deadline

That wasn't the case, none of the games got very far and all three were close. (7-7, 0-0, 9-7). I'm a good player too for what it's worth, not that I think you were implying otherwise, and I don't think it's right to assume that the problem was on my end (as I pointed out before I'm pretty sure it wasn't this time).

I was just trying to be a nice guy by making the offer, not somehow implying that it was incomprehensible that I could ever beat mog and that he deserved a free win, haha

We actually did try several times earlier in the week and had issues. We were originally going to play Wednesday but we had connection issues IIRC and then last night I had to play my game in the other league and then had plans after.

I can't imagine it is getting rejected.

I've got no issue with it, I think the fact that the one guy is injured makes up for the other guy who is better than his rating.

Bv I ment no disrespect at all..... I just think if we can't get a sub and u can't replay him a sim loss is bull shitt... even tho its possible he can also win... I just enjoy playin my games and earning the stats I can get so id find a way to get my game played

I'd rather play too, I hate sims. It was pretty clear from 4 attempts that we weren't going to get through this one though. I offered the CPU thing because I honestly don't care about getting the win or loss as much in this league and I didn't want mog possibly getting a loss in a game he had ever reason to believe he was likely to win (based on our previous matchups), but I understand what everyone's saying about it too so I guess that's the fairest thing to do.
Harris lets try and play again
I'm about to eat dinner, but if you want to we can try again after. And if it's not any better (which I doubt)? The situation won't have changed otherwise.
I dont want a sim game cause I kno ill lose so I wanna keep tryin until tha deadline
This is the last game, so the deadline is pretty much this game. I don't really feel like banging my head against the wall ad nauseum in a laggy annoying game, lol. I'm willing to try one more time if you really think it'll be better, but you yourself said on XBL that you "couldn't play like this" ;)

I was still fine with a cpu game but I think the mob has pretty much spoken on that one.

Well we don't have a choice if it lags again can someone sub for harris cause I really don't want the sim game to go down
Well we don't have a choice if it lags again can someone sub for harris cause I really don't want the sim game to go down
Why are we having someone sub for me and not for you? I know I've had connection problems in the past but that doesn't mean it's ALWAYS my connection. Maybe it's yours. Maybe it's the servers.

And by the way an "I appreciate the offer of the CPU game" or something wouldn't be out of line. I was just trying to be a good guy and now I somehow get the feeling like I'm a villain or something here, lol

Well, before Ravens Steelers gets simmed, i would like to say that i'm online and have been for a while and Zurezo is nowhere to be found... each game is important to us and i cant afford a BS sim loss

What time was he supposed to show up? Does anyone have his number to text him? I know he gives it out sometimes.

Ur not tha bad guy u said ur only gonna try and play one more time and I wanna try as many times as I can cause I really don't want a sim game
