Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!

Assuming Madden honors your head-to-head win. I haven't seen firm confirmation that they've abandoned their alphabetical tie-breaking ways.

I remember that the September patch notes included this: "Tie breakers for divisional winners now work correctly in Online Franchise"

However, as I spelled out earlier the Steelers should be winning the AFC North based on tie-breakers and that's clearly not the case, so that claim may have been bull.

I guess we'll find out.

well bv... I hope y'all are getting your draft strategy together cuz coming into Baltimore looking for a W is like going Iraq looking for WMDs.

Every game we've played against each other has been close, so I wouldn't be too over-confident if I were you. If you think you're guaranteed to win, you might be in for an unpleasant surprise. ;)

Edit: Don't overlook that you knocked me out of the playoffs during the last Madden 10 franchise in an epic game in which I staged a furious comeback. You ended up winning with 4 seconds left in OT. I know I haven't forgotten it :D:

we're undefeated at home and we're on a six game winning streak to finish the season. I won't guarantee a win but if I was a gambling man, I'd be bettin on the Ravens.

that's not to take anything away from you cuz I know you're a problem... it's just a testament to the power of the purple and black :)

Homefield advantage makes no difference in Madden. Besides, I have a better record than you and if you count my scrim win over the Raiders, I'm on a six game win streak as well heading in to Week 17 with the chance to make it 7. In short, I'm not scared.

don't have to be scared to lose...

and I remember the Titans of last season. big difference this season tho: no chris johnson/vince young threat.

I would be disappointed if it turns out to be a one sided game but I like the way we match up against the Chargers.
don't have to be scared to lose
Same goes for you. ;)

Should be a fun game, we'll see if all the tweaking you've done to the secondary during the year can help keep up with the Chargers' vaunted passing attack.

Edit: I don't think anyone would be salivating to match up with the Chargers. As for a one-sided game, the only bad loss I've taken all year was against the Raiders, but that was way back in Week 5 before I got my legs under me with this team. I haven't put up fewer than 28 points in any game since (except the simmed 10-10 tie in the second game with the Raiders), so I don't think you need to worry about blowing me out.

I think my D is out to prove something with Ray Lewis sidelined... and the team as a whole is looking to exorcise the demons from the last two super bowls...

coincidentally, the top two teams in the NFC are the two that defeated us in the big games, and although Cru switched teams, I've got my sights set on a rematch... and I have yet to lose to the same owner/team in consecutive meetings since I joined the league

This is fun...football related banter! Who'd a thunk it?
glad I'm not the only one enjoying it... I'm bored as all hell here at work lol

Just wishes the high powered offense of the Dolphins got to play the chargers this year.. And i also wish i didn't play the damn Ravens 1 week before i retuned my offense ;(

From an objective standpoint, I think this Chargers team is a lot more dangerous than my Titans were. Even though that team went 15-1, that was in a very sparsely populated league so the record was mostly bolstered by CPU games, and Johnson and Young put up some gaudy stats. That was also my first year playing in an online league.

This team is much more battle-tested. There were definitely some bumps early on since I'm running an entirely different style of offense, which explains the 2-3 start. Ever since I in essence fired the offensive coordinator, I've been on a roll. I definitely think this is a more well-rounded team than that was, since my Titans were essentially relying on 3 players (Young, Johnson, and that rookie WR) to do everything. The Chargers have a lot more threats, Rivers has really spread it around well this year.

I do pretty well in those shootout games, and I suspect that definitely would have been one. We should get to find out in season 2 - we both finished 2nd, plus I believe the AFC East is slated to play the AFC West anyway.

find solace in knowing that your dolphins probably pushed Ray Lewis into retirement.

we struggled early on as well but our issue was defensive... giving up big plays to big name receivers was how we lost 4 of the 5 games and the 5th was Deangelo Williams benefiting from an identity search after losing Ray Lewis. Every game we lost was a Ravens td away from OT or a victory so we know we can match the offensive prowess of the Chargers vaunted offense. our defense found their balls against the steelers and been grabbing them ever since.

hey Philip Rivers, I got two words for you:

Ed Reed
I think it's obvious that after all the talk Billy Volek is going to cough it up in Denver and I'll end up playing the Texans, haha.
put him on the Mark Sanchez color-coded turnover management plan... I've already committed to trash talking with the Chargers lol

 wake me when the wild card round is over :D

though I still need to win this week to secure my bye. so I don't think any starters will benched for my finale vs the Bills.

These Texans are very well prepared for whomever pulls up outside Reliant Stadium...

I ain't forgot about week 1...

Ravens' Hitlist (in order):
Chargers - they seem to be next in line

Jets - for the week 1 loss in which B. Edwards failed to drop a single pass and S. Greene ate up the old front 7

Raiders - just cuz they need a positive integer in the loss column

I have faith it will stay the way it is. Looking forward to another shootout if we get the chance.

Oh, I won't be tanking it by any means. I'm less concerned with winning it now than I was last week though when I thought it would get me the Steelers (no offense Zurezo). I'd say Deuce and Ramesu are about equal in terms of competition, so at this point I don't care too much who I play. The benefit to being the 5 would be that should the Steelers pull it out against the Texans then they'd have to go to Oakland instead of me.

But yeah, without a healthy Rivers it would be moot, so he's definitely riding the pine for the entire game. Ditto Gates and Matthews I would think.

speaking of benching... after my power outage last night, I attempted to get my last game done twice and in both games, I lost Ray Rice and Joe Flacco. The first time it happened on consecutive plays. The second time, I sat them both but bulger got hurt and they put flacco in and his first play, he tears his acl recovering a wills mcgahee fumble.
I wouldn't mind. We'd be in the playoffs if the season ended now. :bouncy:
*checks the standings*

Okay, I'm on board. :D

IRL: 7 out of the last 10.
In the CAGFL: 1 out of 4.

Not good here, but BigAT is pretty much hax, so, what can you do? :)

I would like to see the W-L% of AFC vs NFC teams during the regular season. I think that might be more accurate of a way to figure out the stronger conference.

edit: though 2 of my 3 losses did come from the NFC haha, so clearly I'm not the best example.

Oo I love the AFC in real life , Ravens all day , but in CAG NFC all day lol but yea that percentage would be nice. Its a long road to the Superbowl for both conferences honestly, I def need to confirm my bye tonight.

Browns v. Steelers is confirmed for 7:00pm (est)

I still dont know how Im going to use Wallace or Mendenhall. My guess is that Im not going to play them at all.
