Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!

Ravens 28
Bengals 14

Chad Ochocinco is ridiculous... that is all

SN: Moral Victory - Ray Lewis has been hurt since week 9 but he'd be back in time for the Super Bowl if(when) we make it.

Tsk, thought I had you uber when I was up 14-7, but my O fell apart later in the game under Fitzpatrick. I know, I know, he's rated higher than Brohm, but for some reason I just work better with him...maybe it's a mental thing. Plus the whole...couldn't stop the friggin' run to get the ball back after my FG. Ugh.

Oh well. My draft pick thanks you! GG. Good luck in the playoffs.

Brohm was a beast. I don't think he threw an incomplete pass when he was in the game so I was good to see him out haha. It also reminded me that it could be me with one of those injuries so I went and benched some key offensive players before the half (Edwards, Keller, Sanchez). Clemens was surprisingly good and I didn't really need to rely much on him anyways with the way the run game was going.

The Jets go into the playoffs as the #2 team out of the AFC and without any major injuries in the last game of the season. Bart Scott will make his return to practice next week. While David Clowney will be getting the first-team reps this week as Holmes is out for the season.

I was in the 4th Q of my game and my system RRD! NOOOOOOOOOOO

But dont worry, Im heading to target to pick up a new one (It's my birthday tomorrow) I deserve it....right? haha

And the Texans can rest their starters this week....

impeccable timing lol

Solid - I got dragged into going out after softball (our last game of the year), sorry I'm back late. I need to feed the cats and then we can play.

I'm also a bit drunk.. So it should be an interesting game.

I just sent out a batch of PMs about a fantasy basketball league among CAGers. If you're interested in joining too, let me know and I'll send you the info too.

I'm interested.

Solid and I just got disconnected in the 3rd quarter.. He had a pretty healthy lead at the time..

Edit: Happened again, this time tied 7-7 in the first quarter. Both disconnects happened immediately after I'd thrown interceptions, which IIRC is the same thing that happened between Solid and Ramesu.. That can't be a coincidence, right?

We're gonna try another night. Hopefully we can get this sorted out, since I really don't want to have to sim it - I don't trust the CPU not to injure my guys, haha.

I liked our first game that had me up 14-7 with the ball going into the 2nd quarter, but of course it always takes more than one attempt to finish a game.

Those are insane scores combined, haha!!

Zero rushing yards for that pats, that sounds about right in real life, haha!!

Actually, the Pats have finished in the top half of the league in rushing every year since 2005. Two seasons ago they were 6th. People just think they don't run because of how much they spread around the carries.

Does anyone know if I'll still be able to access the regular season stats after we advance to the postseason? I'm trying to put all the final statistics together so I can give out the awards.

Yes, I believe so. Though it's possible they might add the postseason stats right on to the totals, so you might want to grab them before a postseason game is played, or else you can always just subtract those stats from the totals.

Last year I remember it acting funny after we advanced. I'm not sure if it was just the script for the online franchise site or in game too, but if I remember correctly it seemed like they had a rolling 16 games worth of stats, so the 1st week of the playoffs would push the game 1 stats out. They may have fixed that though.

Doom - Are you taking nominations for awards?

I actually probably wouldn't put any of my individual players up, since none of them put up gaudy Madden stats. But that's actually something I'm proud of. Rivers, Gates, and Jackson all had phenomenal years, but if you looked at their stats in a regular NFL stat sheet they wouldn't look out of place.

Rivers - 267/377, 4226 Yards, 36TDs/10INTs (this would be Rivers' best season, but not by an obscene margin)
Gates - 72 catches, 1193 yards, 14 TDs
Jackson - 58 catches, 1239 yards, 6 TDs

After the bananas video game stats I put up with the Titans last year against CPU opponents, I'm pretty proud of putting up lines that look like real football players might have had them.

I feel the same way about my guys bv... well my offense at least. my D's stats are decent but we didn't generate enough sacks to resemble an elite defense. Ed Reed's interception total made up for that tho. I need Ngata to show up in the playoffs tho...

It's pretty damned tough to get sacks against human opponents in Madden. I get a ton of sacks in my offline games but hardly ever online unless the guy holds onto the ball forever. I think I have maybe 10 or so sacks on the season. Rivers was only sacked 6 times.

Really, if you think about it, the difficulty in generating an effective pass rush probably plays a big role in how easy passing is and how high scoring games tend to be.

very true... the only game this season I can remember having an effective pass rush was against the Texans... my coverage was almost always tilted to wherever andre johnson was but it didn't mater too much since my front 7 were always in the backfield.

This is true...the Ravens were the only unblockable front I have played this year...I couldn't run either...

Yes, if anyone wants to state their case for any player, by all means go ahead. I'll start working on it now since a few games have been played.

If we're not counting bonkers statistics I'd put up Rivers for MVP and Gates for best receiver. But if we're treating all stats as if they're created equal, obviously Gates can't compete with the 2400 yards and 33 TDs of Mike Wallace.

I would like to vote Ted Ginn for special teams player slash Kick Returner of the year. Ill post his ballot video tonight or tommorow lol

Hey Darth are we good to go for this evening ?

That might be our only shot at getting the whole game in, haha.

The way Volek played in our first two attempts, I would almost guarantee he's going to throw some more. :D

31 sacks for the Giants this year with a game still left to play!

I shouldn't have to point this out, but your freakish Madden ability is the exception, not the rule. ;)

So I tried again with Kay Holiday this afternoon. After getting disconnected for like the 7th time after the initial kickoff, I decided to receive the ball after the coin toss (I normally elect to kick and Kay elects to receive, so the Redskins had fielded every KO up to that point) on the off chance that it was something incredibly stupid like the Redskins receiving that was causing our problems.

So the Giants took the kickoff and...SUCCESS! Everything was fine. We played through the first half without any issues whatsoever. Then I went to kickoff to the 'Skins and...DISCONNECTED! It's dumb as hell, but for whatever reason whenever the Redskins were kicked off to it caused an immediate disconnect.

So we agreed to do an unranked game, in which the winner would get to play the CPU. I won and will be playing the CPU Skins shortly.

Seems similar to the issue Solid and I were having where it disconnected after every interception. Definitely seems obvious it's a bug on EA's servers and not anything to do with our connections.

49er's vs. Cardinals 730pm EST to wrap up the season. With Ginn out of the picture if I can keep you under 90 yards offensively again it should be a good match. The cards O is straight non-existent since the departure of Leinart.

ubernes - Is the waiting list in the OP up to date? Also, we should probably get a list together of who's coming back for season two. I've got a friend who might be interest in joining up if there are open teams.

Well.....................no pick for Beason :'( , I am forced to concede the title of Master Interceptor to Ed Reed. I also had by far the WORST rushing performance with DeAngelo Williams (1.9 ypc on like 25 attempts or something). The Falcons rush defense was insane. Clausen had by far the best game of the season though, so I guess I gotta take the highs with the lows. I was 21 yards away from the 3,000 rushing mark with DeAngelo! Robbed!!! I'm personally proud of spreading the ball around...having one receiver with insane stats is nice and all for the end of year awards, but I'd be much prouder of having 4 receivers all with around 30 catches on the year (in my case). Of course I relied about 80% on DeAngelo for the season so 30 catches seems par for a 4th string receiver on a typical NFL team in real life...but I can live with that. And Clausen only got sacked twice for the season in 10 starts.

My team is so young and full of potential...so I'm looking forward to next year after checking out all my player progressions.

And for nominations or whatever...I think it's pretty obvious I didn't have anyone worthy of any awards other than DeAngelo and Beason.

DeAngelo Williams:
-308 Attempts
-2979 Yards
-41 Touchdowns
-9.7 Yards per carry average

Jon Beason:
-78 tackles
-38 tackles for a loss (so JUST ABOUT half of my tackles were for a loss)
-12 interceptions
-4 sacks
-3 interception TDs
-3 deflections
-1 forced fumble
-1 safety

Oh and I don't know how any of the other rookies have done this season (I think Sam Bradford had a pretty good year), but just in case...Armanti Edwards had 33 Receptions for 907 yards and 7 touchdowns, so maybe that's good enough for at least a nomination...I think that's a little better than what Percy Harvin had (last year's real Offensive ROTY). Maybe we can have a separate category of "College quarterbacks-turned-NFL-wide-receiver-rookie of the year for Armanti...he deserves it.

Dallas Clark for WR/TE of the year! He'd be the legit #1 in receiving categories if it weren't for the overabused CPU games played by Mike Wallace, etc.

And since we are talking pass rush difficulty, Robert Mathis for DL of the Year.

Just curious...was Mathis the player you usually controlled on defense or was he getting sacks on his own? I've never controlled a lineman on defense so I don't know how hard it is to get past the O-line manually.
