You don't have to be scared duece I would just hate to see you lose 3 straight Super Bowls, and granted my QB does suck I believe in my squad and feel like we got something special going on, we hope to fly under radar to a Super Bowl victory, lol.

I just noticed the draft was set for a week from today at 3:30pm EST, that must be a mistake. It's now been fixed to 9:30pm EST. Let me know if anyone has an issue with that.
 
If you can't get 10 people I'll join as a backup. I've never done fantasy basketball though (only football and baseball) so I'd probably suck. Plus, I never remember to check Yahoo leagues, I'm just so much more used to going to ESPN.

Due to last minute changes in assignments, I'll be gone from the 18th to the 27th. I'll figure something out for the draft but if I miss the first couple of games next season it'll be a set back (especially with the way people in this league seem to enjoy obliterating the CPU).

That draft is for the fantasy NBA league a few of us are doing.

The rookie Madden draft I could see happening on the evening of the 25th.

Wild Card Round: 15th-17th
Divisional Round: 18th-20th
Conference Championships: 21st-22nd
Super Bowl: 23rd-24th

During this time I'll also be trying to fill the missing teams so maybe that gets pushed back to the 26th or even 27th. You can prerank though and we can also talk about me taking over your team during the draft (I can draft via the online franchise page while I do mine in the game).

That's exactly what I was thinking. Sorry about the misunderstanding, I haven't been able to keep current with the board banter the last 8-9 pages. looking forward to a new season by the time I get back.

EDIT: BTW, I tried preranking before and got pretty much the exact opposite of what I had prepicked (even though the players I wanted were still undrafted by my pick). So anyone planning on taking that avenue, think again.

I cannot wait for the playoffs to start. I have been sharpening my skills via online ranked matches...I've won 6 straight, I'm excited to see if that momentum carries into my playoff run
 
Maybe we should start taking stock of how many teams we're going to have available so we can try to fill it up. I think everyone agrees it's a lot more fun with a full league.

Here are the currently unowned teams. ubernes, can you fill in the blanks as to who has said they'll be back:

Bengals - ?
Browns - ?
Jaguars - ?
Titans - ?
Broncos - Definitely rejoining, only dropped for our game
Chiefs - ?
Redskins - I assume he's coming back, but I haven't seen for sure
Bucs - ?
Seahawks - ?

So assuming no one else is leaving the league, that's at most 7-8 spots we should fill. I wouldn't think it's too soon to start contacting those owners to see if they're coming back and then starting to fill up the rosters. I have a friend who wants to play, so I'll definitely put a hold on one of the open spots once we get there.

Browns - Open, he's done.

Titans - Open, just inactive. not going to track him down.

in all seriousness, I don't remember the score but I think he beat me by 14 or 17. I had multiple turnovers and I couldn't throw the ball because derrick mason was too old and brittle to escape a jam at the line. I was in that game until I gave up being disciplined and he just rolled over us... if we get a rematch, it will be a totally different game. Dominant our not, I'm still the defending afc champ two seasons running, and anyone that's played me in the last 6 games or so can testify on behalf of my abilities...mainly on defense... a defense that's been without it's most important player since halfway thru the season

Earlier in the year I wanted to switch back to the Titans, but I think I've made my bed with the Chargers at this point so I'll stick with them as long as we're still in this same franchise. If we restart at some point, I may switch.

lol, my ego... it's nice that my skills are recognized even though the Ravens' current record isn't indicative of such.

I'm just competitive... no real ego involved. talking trash just makes the game more interesting cuz it gives more reason to play hard. Grand Cru can tell y'all how I am when it comes to competition in anything. My talk is all in good fun :D
 
Anyone up for submitting some predictions for the post-season (predicting winners of each game with maybe a few words to accompany it) once this week is over?? Or maybe even doing a mini-power rankings for the playoff teams...I dunno, I enjoy reading those things so if someone has time, I'm sure it wouldn't take TOO long...... :)
 
I know ubernes said he was planning to do a last power rankings for the playoff teams. I'll hold off on predictions until I know for sure how Madden is going to do the seedings, etc. We think we know who will be playing who, but you never know with Madden.
 
Yeah, I could whip up some playoff team power rankings but will avoid predictions so I don't jinx myself haha. If someone outside of the playoffs (so no bias) can do some predictions once the games are set in stone that would be awesome.
 
I will agree with duece in his competitive trash talk nature lol I can remember so many instances of him breaking down why I couldn't guard him on the basketball court when we were in college , or how my intramural team could not see his. In contrast I used to talk a lot of smack too I remeber telling him he couldn't see me in the madden even on PSP, lol. Like he said trash talk is just in his blood lol but all in fun. We been talking trash in the NBA 2k 11 before the league started and I still tell him how I'm gonna smash him wit John Wall and the Wizards lol

Sorry uber, I won't be able to join that basketball league. I'm already in more than I can handle.

Just letting everyone know the status of the awards.

Look for the finalized post on either Sunday or Monday. All of the nominees and categories are done I just need to pick the winners and finalize everything. I'm pretty much loaded for tomorrow (exams and a concert) but it should be done by then.

Also a note to real life Matt Schaub. Stop screwing me over on fantasy ya bumb!

That's a great idea.

I'm still hopeful we can fill up the league, but as a backup option that's not bad at all.
 
Yeah, I like that idea. We could randomize the order and rotate it all season. I'll leave it at that for now until we know how many teams we need to fill-in for, but I don't see why that won't work. Even if I have to play them all and wreak havoc on the whole league :D haha!

^^^^^^ my vote for smart idea of the year. although there are a few things to work out, i think thats a really good idea
 
Same here, I could fill in for a team. I could be considered a mediocre fill-in, compared to you guys who are all at a high level of Madden-ing. Maybe we don't want a top-tier player taking over the Browns/Chiefs/Rams every time, for example. (I was going to say Raiders...but our Raiders are a bit out of the norm!)

Hey! The Rams have solid ownership and are a team on the rise. A solid draft and we will be right in this.
