Deuce, I want you to weigh in on every single trade. I want you to shout your opinion from the rafters. If you think a trade is unfair, I want you to fight it tooth and nail.

But what I'm not going to let slide is you getting high and mighty about there being too many superstars changing hands when you've traded more big names than anybody. You stand by every single trade you've made, and I stand by mine. Only difference is, even if I agree that too many stars changing hands is a problem (which I don't, but I'm fine with going with the majority), I'm not going to act like I'm not a part of what got us here.
*sigh*... i've traded 2 90+ players in the however many seasons i've been in this league... what constitutes a superstar in your book? the name or the rating?

So it looks like no one has any real problems with the trade (some have stated it's tilted, but think its fair enough), so since we've all played our games I am going to drop White and Hayden.

I think I can say this and not be considered a hypocrite...I absolutely hate the fantasy football trades. I'm more traditional when it comes to these things and I just hate seeing ADRIAN PETERSON traded twice in two years, it offends my football sensibilities (lmao). I haven't weighed in on any trade this year simply because I've given up. Tradition and reality play no role in determining whether a trade is going to be put through (and maybe it shouldn't in a Madden League) but I refuse to waste my time....
Coolio, I'll drop all my players tonight.
Let's wait until he gives his 100% sign-off. The trade is not official yet.

We've all already played our week 1 games, and we're not advancing until Saturday. No need to rush it through.

I always end up late to these discussions....I gotta start waking up earlier! I can honestly say that I have never had a problem with any trade put through so far in this league, and don't have a problem with the current threesome trade on the table now. I guess I've just witnessed so many 70 OVR players making play after play on the field that I don't even think it's worth trading for those 98 OVR players in most cases. In my experience with AP in the fantasy league...sure he'd evade a tackle here and there to get a couple more yards, but a large majority of those yards he gets (and with any back really) are going to be when he's untouched due to some solid blocking by the o-line. I was in the top 5 or 6 in rushing with Marshawn Lynch last year...which I attribute mostly to my very capable o-line, not my mediocre 81 OVR HB. I think ballhawk got something like 300 yards with his 76 OVR rookie in week 1. And in another league, some 64 OVR LOLB is leading the league with 10 sacks in 4 weeks. I've heard a lot of complaints in other leagues about shitty linebackers being able to shadow receivers like Andre Johnson step for step in man coverage too. And even QBs like Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers are gonna make their fair share of bad throws game after game. I didn't put a lot of thought into it, but those are just a couple examples that come to mind. Sure they're most likely going to be more consistently dominant players, but I feel like you can easily get as good of a performance from those lesser players.

And there's a lot of risk in trading so much for one elite player. You're banking a LOT on that one player...and if you end up using him a lot (say Adrian Peterson or Roddy White), you're putting them at greater risk for injury by giving them so many looks. That's why in most cases I'd rather trade an elite player and get multiple solid players in return to fill up some holes, rather than practicing the philosophy of having to trade an elite player to get an elite player in return. If you lose one of those players to injury (R.I.P. Earl Thomas  ), you still have other people to fall back on. It's similar to teams trading down in the draft to accumulate more draft picks.

And it seems like implementing a salary cap is gonna make young A potential players an even hotter commodity. What better way to counteract a salary cap than to stockpile those overachieving A potential 1st and 2nd year players? I already have a weakness for those guys...this is gonna put me over the edge! I think Cru has one of the most talented rosters in the fantasy league...and I imagine he's at least 300 billion dollars under the cap.

Ok I have to poop now...so I'm gonna stop here, but I'll come back and add stuff later!

Falcons Draft Report:

2nd round
LG- Joe Banks, 77ovr 22yo Apot 85rbk 82pbk 87ibl 88inj
Pretty happy that I was able to address the one major weakness of my team (guards) with a beast that made it to the mid-second round. He is immediately starting for me at RG, and through 1 game he has proven that he is a viable starter and will keep his role throughout the year.

3rd Round
WR- Juwaun Sales, 70ovr 22yo Bpot 98speed 96acc 76catch 97cit 87spc 75jmp 94inj
Picked this guy because I had just agreed to the Roddy White deal which pretty much shifted my focus from CB to WR. His speed and acceleration is amazing so he should be a good fit for my offense. Through 1 game he has the most catches on my team and he seemed to get open more than anyone else. He also returns kicks for me.

6th Round
QB- Skyler Hardman (ha), 22yo 62ovr Dpot 53speed 87thp 75tha 80tas 62tam 84tad 72inj
Only had 2 QBs on the roster so I decided to draft a third. Actually pretty happy with him, as he seems to be good for long and short passes which is basically all I do. He probably will never see the field, but it's good to have a backup that can come in and make a few throws just in case.

7th Round
WR- Tyrhe Cheeseboro, 61ovr 21yo Dpot 91speed 90acc 67catch 70cit 75spc 82jmp 82inj
I basically just drafted this guy because his name was cheeseboro. He will probably end up getting cut sometime throughout the season, but he is pretty fast so maybe I can use him as a back up KR and PR.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the players I drafted. I addressed my two biggest needs (G and WR) and got some needed back ups. Pretty good considering I only had 4 picks. Next years draft should be a lot more fun now that I have all my picks.

Great pick. I scouted this guy pretty heavily, and he was going to be my pick with the Raiders selection at 17 if you hadn't taken him. Hell, if the SS I wanted was gone in the 1st, I would have even considered taking him there. He'll be a beast for you.

Ravens 38

Cardinals 24

Brees hit Larry for two TD bombs

Brees 13-30, 2 TD, 4 INT, led the team in rushing with 42 yards on 5 carries.

Larry nearly got 200 yds and 2 TD's

Everything else on my team sucked, except for Todd Heap.

Flaaco 13-20 1 Td, 2 Int

Turnovers killed me here, and my D didn't play very well.

Good game MastaAwesome, you have a really nice defense. I can't believe Flaaco and your wr's were carving me up like that. It's good to be back in this league where every game is a hard fought battle.

21-10 going into the fourth

Trade Block:
DT- Jonathan Babineaux 85, 30, B
LG- Vince Manuwai 81, 32, B
LOLB- Stephen Nicholas 75, 29, B

Looking for:
Draft picks, FS, RE, C, DT, and LOLB
God, my draft sucked compared to everyone elses!
dont feel bad... other than my first pick (who got hurt in the first qtr of the game w/Staticz), i didnt really get anyone i plan on using. The MLB i drafted ended up going to the Bears and the corner i picked up has proven to be a waste of space so far
God, my draft sucked compared to everyone elses!
Lol. Mine was decent since I had 2 draft guides up at once. My 1st and 3rd were traded and BV snaked that LG from me in round 2 for pacer. Damn you!

Other than that though, I did fairly well and got myself a scrambling QB

Which is all that has ever mattered in Madden!

Thanks LV, that Brees to Fitzgerald connection you had going on was a beautiful thing to watch! That 2nd TD bomb to Fitzgerald was nice...Fitzgerald got by the man coverage and the zone from the safety and Brees fit it in perfectly. Like it was mentioned before...I noticed Fitzgerald in the slot in that shotgun formation early, but it was an easy fix...just had to pause and put Jimmy Smith on him. I think Smith picked off that 1st pass to him immediately after that lol. Although, like you said, Fitzgerald got almost 200 yards and 2 TDs...I feel like Smith did a really good job covering him for the most part. Especially on those short to intermediate routes, which are the toughest to defend against.

And just a side note...Flacco was 2 TDs and 1 INT, not 1 TD and 2 INTs! That was the OLD Flacco...this season's Flacco is gonna be under 10 INTs on the season!

Yea, while that was going on I had dreams of Roddy White on the other side doing the exact same thing :)

Stupid me settling for Adrian Peterson, I've never even heard of that guy!!

P.S. Smith was doing a great job, I'd imagine 120+ of those yards came from the two bombs, which any CB would have a hard time with.

Btw I really feel like the cardinals def scammed me on who I wanted I told him I wanted the top cb with 30 secs left an he didn't get him n the CPU picked up a le which I don't freaking need just felt like he did it on purpose but I dnt really mind just putting it out there lol

Since everyone is doing and this gives me a real chance to examine my picks, here it goes...

Round 1
WR - Delency Kilgo
OVR 74, C potential
99 SPD, 82 CTH, 73 CAR, 88 RLS, 82 JMP, 86 SPC
I was disappointed to find out Kilgo was C potential, but honestly I don't even need him to improve on much of anything right now as my slot WR. His route running (60) and catch in traffic (58) are the only categories I'm disappointed in, but some of his 'move' stats (trucking, stiff arm, spin move) are off the charts for a WR. My main goal was to get someone with high speed + high catch and I did get that. Carry was also important for me as I saw some speedsters with terrible carry ratings and the last thing I need is my slot guy get taken out over the middle by a LB and coughing it up. If he was B potential I would love this pick, right now I'm just fine with it.

Round 2
CB - Khaynin Stewart
OVR 74, C potential
96 SPD, 85 MCV, 79 ZCV, 81 PRS, 89 JMP, 59 CTH
I'm going off memory but I'm pretty certain he was a C potential as well, another disappointment as there's a few spots I'd like to see him improve in. Right now he'll never be better than a nickle or dime CB, but that's all I really needed at the moment. Donald Stickland was getting old and Stewart already surpasses him in all major categories, including OVR. This pick was a direct response to the news the Pats would be getting a new WR and the Dolphins drafting a stud QB. He won't get on the field a ton, but when he does it's good to know I can depend on him.

Round 3
RT - Kalen Federick
73 OVR, B potential
88 STR, 76 PBK, 72 RBK, 67 IBL, 96 RBS, 77 RBF, 80 PBS, 80 PBF
This may turn out to be one of my better picks of the draft. My only B potential I was able to land and his OVR was already a point higher than my starting RT. I know there were a couple good RTs on the board at this time, so perhaps I should've looked into someone with better pass-block vs his stellar run-block but I'll take it.

Round 4
MLB - Jared Morgan
70 OVR, C/D potential
82 SPD, 64 TAK, 84 POW, 73 ZCV, 55 MVC, 82 PRC
As unsexy as a pick as you'll find. Sorry tackling for a MLB, but as my 3rd MLB, who will likely spell my OLBs from time to time, I like his speed and his zone coverage.

Round 5
QB Jared Todd
70 OVR, C potential
90 THP, 74 THA, 84 TAS, 85 TAM, 63 TAD
With Mark Brunell retiring and O'Connell not exactly the most reliable backup, I had to look to the draft and maybe looked a little late. I still came away with a guy who should be able to spell Sanchez if needed for a injured series or even a game or 2. Besides his deep accuracy and his throwing accuracy in general, he doesn't look to shabby.

Round 6
TE Jarvaris Belton
66 OVR, C potential
80 SPD, 73 CTH, 78 RTE, 74 SPC, 76 RLS
I was surprised to still find semi-relevant players this late into the draft. Belton played the majority of my first game when Keller went down and did a hell of a job. None of his stats jump out at you, but with decent receiving stats and pretty solid run-blocking stats I don't need to worry about having him in there in 2 TE sets or spelling Keller when needed.

Overall I'm fairly happy with the draft, especially the RT I grabbed in the 3rd. I had 4 things I want to focus on... WR, RT, CB and LG and I managed to get a starter in 3 out of 4. My only issue is the poor potentials. It would be great to see the CB and WR grow into viable #2 options at their respective positions but right now I expect they won't advance further than #3. The RT on the other hand is starting now and bumping Hunter/Vlad out of the starting role really gives me some depth behind my other linemen. No studs here, but some holes were filled and some depth gained.

edit: Once I remember who got cut from my team, I'm dropping my 7th round pick.

Ballhawk... Scammed... Really??? I was in a party with four people and you jumped in, in the several minutes leading up to your pick, I was explaining TO YOU how I just screwed up the Eagles, and was saying out loud. "He didn't give me enough time"

So I was saying at 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. WHO DO YOU WANT

Obviously your person could go, or you aern't sure. But you told me your pick when there was aroung 40 seconds left. (Yes, plenty of time) I searched through position, realized CB was at the bottom, switched to OVR and found him with you, Widow, and Bseti all saying "hurry up" in my ear. I missed your boy by 1 second.,

I apologized, to you, again and again. And you didn't seem to upset when you left.

SCAM dude, in what possible way is that a SCAM
somewhat relevant.... the Chiefs (real life) claimed Kyle Orton
Wow, I didn't realized Denver was that sold on Tebow.

And I'm very glad they waited till after playing my Patriots to pick Orton up.

They're not, upper management hates him but he keeps winning so they can't really bench him.

Elway should just shut up.

i dont think they are... but John Fox has committed (at least for the rest of this season) to catering the offense to Tebow's abilities so it made sense to get rid of Orton... John Elway still hates the kid lol

dammit Doom... u won the Super Bowl, can i finish first just once?

Those draft reports are very interesting reads! Here is mine...

Ravens draft report:

1st round
TE - Sanjay Nash Jamie Brooks - 84 OVR, A potential, 90 SPD, 89 ACC, 82 CTH, 72 RTE, 71 CIT, 90 SPC, 90 RLS
I went into the draft saying I was going to draft a CB or WR in the first round...but seeing this guy available at the 23rd overall pick was impossible to pass up. I'd be looking at getting a WR or CB in the 77-78 OVR range, so this choice was a no-brainer. Despite trading for Pettigrew last season...Brooks is the obvious start for me at TE as I attempt to shift to a more pass-oriented offense this season. I would have liked if his CIT rating was a bit higher since I tend to pass to my TE almost exclusively over the middle of the field, but he held onto every pass and was very impressive overall in his debut.

2nd round
HB - Shakim Simmons - 77 OVR, A potential, 85 SPD, 85 ACC, 97 TRK, 92 SFA, 91 CAR
I was extremely unprepared when my pick came up (the player I wanted was picked 2 turns before mine), so I panicked and ended up unintentionally having the CPU draft my pick. To get an A potential player that late in the 2nd round was a pleasant surprise, so despite already having 2 VERY similar power backs on my roster (Lynch - 88 SPD, 99 TRK, 99 SFA, 96 CAR and Allen - 84 SPD, 97 TRK, 84 SFA, 95 CAR), I feel like this was still a solid pick. Even though Lynch appears to be the better back at this point, I'm gonna give Simmons his fair share of looks this season to see what he's capable of.

3rd round
DT - C.J. Marks - 75 OVR, B potential, 91 STR, 80 ACC, 81 TAK, 85 PMV, 66 FMV, 73 BSH, 71 PUR
At this point in the draft, I realized my only shot at picking up a potential starter for my team on day 1 would be one of the two 75 OVR DTs. I put Ngata in at DT on my team, so my #2 DT would have been 73 OVR Terrence Cody. I'm still not quite sure who will get the starting nod at DT between Cody and Marks, but for now I'm giving it to the new guy to see what he can do. Cody has that very appealing 98 BSH rating, but is as slow as they come with 42 SPD and also a 45 PUR...so if any QBs or HBs see him coming their way, it seems the easy fix is to just run a few steps over in one direction and he'll have used up his usefulness on that play. He's also got a ridiculous 49 stamina (seriously Baltimore...is this guy just exempt from all conditioning!?), so I figure even if he gets the starting position over Marks...Marks will have plenty of playing time.

4th round
LOLB - Conor Murphy - 68 OVR, C potential, 90 speed...enough said. His speed was his selling point, and I expect him to be a good addition to the Special Teams.

5th round
WR - Dextrell Wallace - 69 OVR, C potential, 94 SPD, 98 AGL, 99 ACC, 80 CTH, 87 CIT, 94 JMP
I feel like if I didn't get in on one of those ridiculous speedy WRs, then I'd be missing out...so I snatched this guy up in the 5th round. I was hoping to address my WR issue earlier in the draft, but I just never found a quality value pick at my turn until this round. At this point, he's going to be my #4 WR, and I only run 3 WR sets at most...so he's not looking to get a whole lot of playing time, barring any injuries. I feel like his speed combined with his decent catching and good CIT ratings makes him a steal for the 5th round. I'll surely at least manually sub him in maybe during the 3rd quarter of some blowouts and see if he does anything with the few opportunities he's given (he had an 8 yard catch in my 1st game!! this guy is making some major ripples).

6th round
DT - Javon Buice - 66 OVR, C potential...no stats really worth mentioning. 88 ACC maybe?? That's good for a DT right?!?
This was another one I left up to the hands of the CPU gods. Not that I panicked or anything...I just didn't care much at this point and figured I'd surprise myself. He's decent I guess for a 6th rounder...I sorta needed the depth at DT anyways, so I'll keep him on the roster.

7th round
C - Brenden Shuping - 64 OVR, D potential, 86 impact blocking!
Yuck...nothing I hate more than a good-for-nothing waste of space 60 OVR D potential player! I let the CPU draft this one too...again, just cause I didn't care at this point. I was still in the draft looking through the players, I just went for the surprise again. Nothing surprising here though...you'd expect to get shit in the 7th round and that's exactly what I got. I figure I'll keep him on the squad for depth, but the moment the next round of FA comes around...I know who I'm dropping!!!
They're not, upper management hates him but he keeps winning so they can't really bench him.

Elway should just shut up.
Well both Orton and Quinn's deals are up this year and neither are the QB of the future. Makes sense to roll the dice with Tebow and at least see what you have in him before you go spending another draft pick on a QB or signing someone in the off-season.
i dont think they are... But john fox has committed (at least for the rest of this season) to catering the offense to tebow's abilities so it made sense to get rid of orton... John elway still hates the kid lol

Panthers Draft Report:

1st Round

DB Bradley Beasley - 79 OVR, A POT, 93 SPD, 92 ACC, 63 AWR, 67 CTH, 94 JMP, 62 TAK, 61 PRC, 84 MCV, 81 ZCV, 79 PRS

At 6', 203 lbs, he is a menace to opposing WRs. I went into the draft looking for a CB and even though he was listed as a FS, I think I found him. He drops to a 73 OVR at CB but his numbers make him the second best CB on the team. He started at FS for game one of the season and he amassed 5 tackles before tearing something in his shoulder. He's only out for two weeks, which is good news because he will be back in plenty enough time to gel with the rest of the defense and hopefully be the compliment to Chris Gamble we badly needed in the Super Bowl.

Round 2 and 3 Picks were traded

Round 4, 5, 6, and 7 picks are inconsequential lol

What are some good two back playbooks in this game? If nobody is going to take Hillis I'm thinking of using him and my 84 rookie to just hammer the ball with a running attack.
