I don't think the 2nd round pick is necessary considering MJD is a top 5 runningback. Leshore won't reach that level for another 2 or 3 seasons at the very least.
Lol I think it's a stretch to think that Leshoure will EVER reach that level or anything even close to it...I don't see him getting past the high 80's if he's lucky. Still a very solid back though...99 carry rating and very high trucking/stiff arm attributes. And despite only an 85 speed, he still has a very high acceleration (96).
Even though a solid running game seems to be more important in this Madden because of the improvements in coverage in the passing game, I still think a good wide receiver is more valuable than a good running back. Any player that's predominantly controlled by the CPU should be valued higher because their effectiveness is directly tied to that rating. You have to rely on your wide receivers to beat the coverage and get open for the catch, as well as bringing down the catch in traffic in most cases. For running backs...you can get by with a mediocre back as long as you have good blocking and can make the right reads to get through some holes. Of course Jones-Drew is ELITE and will occasionally make some plays that other backs can't...but I think Mike Williams overall is a bigger asset to the team. I'm not saying that Jones-Drew for Williams would necessarily be a fair trade, but in my opinion, people are underestimating the worth of an elite receiver and overestimating the worth of an elite running back.
Call me crazy, but I think Jones-Drew is pretty overrated anyways. Keep in mind that we're talking about a 97 OVR player here...so I'm not saying Jones-Drew isn't GREAT, just saying that I'm expecting a DAMN amazing player. Jones-Drew and Peterson are both 97 OVR...I don't think anyone in their right mind would rather have Jones-Drew over Peterson. If you're asking for Mike Williams and Mikel Leshoure's depth chart ratings, you should probably get Jones-Drew's too...I would be surprised if he was actually a 97. It seems unnecessary to have a player like Jones-Drew and Peterson who can seemingly do it all...juke, stiff arm, truck, spin...on a run play, does anyone actually think "OK I'm gonna spin away from this tackle, juke that guy straight ahead, stiff arm the defender coming from the side..." or do you just generally have a go-to button you press when you're about to get tackled?? Maybe it's just cause I have 3 power backs on my team...but I just spam A (stiff arm) every time I see a defender getting close to me to make the tackle. No matter if a player is coming from behind, the side, or in front...stiff arm is effective no matter what (assuming it's just one defender).
So that's why I think it's a fair trade...thanks for everyone's time.
