Deputized.

Seriously guys, step on it.

11 pm this evening is going to be a tough time for me to make , But I am going to try my best to make it. What other times are the Rams available ?

How many of these games matter re: playoffs? Seems like a lot of games as it's been mentioned with thanksgiving coming up I'd like to advance us asap tonight.

BV broke this down:
Bucs-Falcons
Panthers-Saints*
49ers-Rams
Colts-Jags
Lions-Packers
Redskins-Eagles
Ravens-Bengals*
Steelers-Browns*

The games with an * are the ones with playoff seeding implications

I assume the Steeler game was already played since it's not on the list at the top of the page? If so, then I'd be fine with advancing after the 930 game. It sounds like we'll need to get some playoff games in tonight if we want to get this done before Thanksgiving.

If Packers/Lions does get played, it will for sure be before 9:30 Eastern. Are you guys sure I can't still make the playoffs at 10-6 if I win? That would give me an 8-4 conference record and 5-1 division record.

Jags and Colts wrap up their season with a barnburner, with Jacksonville pulling out a 37-35 win on a last-second field goal from Josh Scobee. Blaine Gabbert has his best game of the season, going 22-27 for 350 yards, 2 TD's and no picks. MJD runs for 111 yards and 2 TD and Courtney Greene picks off Manning twice.

Manning still shredded the Jags secondary, throwing for 467 yards and five touchdowns. GG pitflallharry, nice way to close out the season.

Yeah it went down to strength of victory since you didn't have a minimum of 4 common games. Seattle has 126 net points while Green Bay has only 5. And in common games that you did play, Seattle had the leg up with the exception of the Bears game.

I'm not going to say for certain, but based on the rules given, it looks like Seattle is in. If you win though, we may be in for a surprise.
nice way to close out the season.
Thanks for playing this season (assuming you haven't changed your mind about leaving). You're always welcome to come back if you want to give it another try!
Any chance some of the old guys would want to make a comeback ? Eddie, Hydro, gregthomas, redworm, etc?
You're welcome to ask around. Right now we will have 2 openings (Bills and Jags), though n8 has said in the past he may be leaving, not sure if he still is. Nobody else has told me they're done.

We're going to try to fill at least one of those spots from the second league, but it would certainly be nice to have some of the guys back who we have experience with.

Yeah, that was a great game. This is why I'm looking forward to the JV league. It's nice to be in a competitive game all 4 quarters, rather than knowing it's over by the time the 3rd quarter starts and just going through the motions until the prison pounding is over.

Is there a way to see what the schedule will be for next season? I never even played guys like Doom or BigAT. The irony was that most of the problems I ran into were against fringe players who were willing to do anything for a win. I also need to go look up what Jake Locker's progression is, but I can't find that link. If it's easier for me to just leave though, I'll leave. I'd really only be staying out of morbid curiosity if I've actually improved at all.

In addition to their division schedule, the Titans will play the AFC East, the NFC North, plus the Chargers and Browns. So no Doom or BigAT.

Hmm..that's actually not too bad as I had good games with a couple of those guys and a few others I know that I didn't get to play. Guess I'll give it another try. Thanks for looking that up for me. If you happen to have that link for the player progression, that would be great too. ;)

I don't. If there's actually a site that catalogs what the progression will be (and it wouldn't surprise me), I've never seen it. I think most people go off what they've seen in their own franchises. I'd imagine Locker would be somewhere in the mid-80s next season.
i cant play till at least 7 eastern vet appointment at 6
I can play at 7 Eastern or even a little later if you don't get back by then. Just as long as we wrap up before the time that uber wants to advance, we should be fine. That is, if the game actually lets us play.

I have Locker as 77.

For what it's worth, I believe there is a bug with OF where the year 2 schedules don't change as they should. It doesn't shift divisions like it should, so only a couple of games on your schedule are different then the previous year. It appears to fix itself in year 3 though.

Ick, that's annoying. Does it at least correctly match up the division winners?

Wow...so, Locker goes up a measly 3 points? And the schedule is virtually the same? Well, that's pretty lame. Anybody know any more about this? Not that I don't believe BigAT. I'm just curious if I'd really get stuck playing the AFC North and NFC South AGAIN.

Yeah I can confirm what BigAT is saying about Season 2 (I dunno about Locker). In my other franchise...my schedule between seasons literally differed by 2 games. I did hear (like he said) that it's gonna be fixed by season 3.

Another stupid online franchise bug though (and one that annoys me infinitely more) is that there is a discrepancy between a player's OVR rating in Player Management vs. the Depth Chart. I believe the Player Management rating is inaccurate...the Depth Chart one is the one you should go by. So say Locker is a 77 OVR in Player Management but an 81 OVR in Depth Chart, then he's really an 81 OVR. There are players whose attributes actually decline between seasons and somehow they JUMP 6 points in their OVR according to Player Management. It's gonna make trading a bit tricky, since you're gonna have to specifically request players' OVRs according to Depth Chart and not Player Management.

Well that's lousy. I was really looking forward to playing the NFC West next season. So it sounds like the only change to my schedule will be playing the Texans instead of the Colts. Bummer.

Well, in that case, I think I'll give up the Titans then. I don't really have much of a desire to play the AFC North or NFC South again. I'd basically just be reliving this season...which doesn't sound too appealing. Thanks for the info though, guys.

I'm booting Cru now so Rames can sub for him. Though if they are still planning on 11pm, that game will be simmed. Sorry! We just gotta move by 10:30-11pm est tonight for the playoffs.

I've seen this as well. Anything in particular make you think the depth chart is the accurate on and not player management? I've been trying to figure out some way to determine which is correct but haven't really been able to think of anything specifically.

I gave up subbing since the game didn't have playoff implications and it seems like lyric isn't available until after 11.

I thought it was determined that the advance would occur after the lions/packers game...

It looks like im not going to be able to leave early so if someone wants to sub for the Bucs that would be great Im leaving it thur the site right now. or if atl wants to play the cpu thats fine with me(this game doesn't change the playoffs)

Same schedule...weak sauce. I can't imagine the Online Franchise is less popular than it seems, it concerns me that the Madden Dev team spends so little time on it.

I'm holding out hope that the turnover in staff will give Madden a fresh look. Though, when you have a franchise this successful why change it.

I kinda did my own research on it...my sample size was only 1 player (Bo Scaife) so it might not be accurate, but I see no reason why it would differ from player to player. Scaife was a 78 OVR in Season 1 and dropped to a 77 OVR in Season 2 according to Player Management. According to the depth chart however, he actually increased by a point to 79 OVR. So I just looked at Scaife's attributes in another league (which was still in season 1 and used the same online franchise roster) and by comparing his attributes in Season 1 vs. Season 2, he clearly improved. So Player Management indicated he regressed while Depth Chart indicated he progressed, so I'm inclined to say Depth Chart is accurate.

Also, like I mentioned, some players' individual attributes declined between seasons and yet their OVR according to Player Management JUMPS 5 or 6 points. The players I'm referring to were on other teams so I couldn't see their Depth Chart rating, but that proves that the Player Management rating is definitely bugged. Some player progressions according to Player Management seem to be a little on the high side too, like how some rookies jump 10 points between seasons.

BTW I'm online now and ready to play (got out of my 7 p.m. class really early), so hopefully me and the Bengals can get our game in sooner...I already PM'ed him. Not sure if he's around his computer to see it though...so we might end up having to play at 9:15-9:30 as scheduled.

IIRC, that bug was present in the offline franchise last year (I haven't noticed it this year), so it's possible they fixed it in the offline and didn't fix it online, which I don't think would surprise anyone.

Also, you guys who already know who you're playing in Round 1 should start setting up your games. If we could get a couple in tonight that would be huge.

Alright, so Panthers-Saints and Ravens-Bengals are what we're really waiting on here. Does anyone know if the Ravens can still win that division? I believe the Steelers clinched with their win, no?
