Can someone post an honest inventory of the teams in the league, which are open, and which are controlled by people who have not been active at all? Before we try to fix the problem, I think it would be helpful to know how extensive it is. I'd do it myself, but I haven't been following it that closely up to know.

I still think our best bet for having a second league is saving this one.

Drop the non-actives and let's just start playing the CPU if that team is not occupied. Lets get this season going - the playoffs should consist of human players. I will be more than happy to help with admin'g this league if needed.

The fact that we're not even sure who owns what team would seem to be a pretty obvious symptom of the problem in this league, lol.
 
Does anyone know Man2008 (49ers owner?) He's a yellow name above.. I sent him a PM on CAG and also sent him a friend request on XBL, but if anyone could ask him to check in, that would be great.
 
fuck it. Let's just make a new league. We have many people that have expressed interest in being commish (I wouldn't mind being co-commish), and this league is falling apart (8 days to advance? c'mon son).
 
DaMailman was the raiders - he was "red". Let's drop the "yellows" and continue to play this league against either HUMAN or CPU depending on who you play. Once the playoffs arrive, there is no doubt that all teams will be HUMAN. If there is a CPU, then the best record that did not make the playoffs gets that team. Is Cru still the only "keymaster"?
 
Cru has commish still. As far as i know we haven't advanced. If he would turn over the controls to someone we would get back on track.

PM has been sent to CRU to turn over Commish duties to me. From there I will commence to follow my plan - any objections?

Thats cool, really anything to keep the league alive and not moving at a snails pace works for me.

Maybe we can try filling the teams at the beginning of next season. Good draft positions and unique rosters might entice new (more dedicated) people to join.
 
If we could get 24 committed cag madden players we start a new one and it'd be legit... one cpu team in each division. That way everyone plays the same amount of games against the cpu. Strict 72 hour advance deadline. Chances are if we start one now, 2 seasons would be a complete miracle. So no trading of draft picks. Trades would be more even based on overalls. We don't need to do a fantasy draft, but id be down for one with updated rosters.
 
Only way to do that is to get the Commish duties changed. I think we finish out this season, rearrange owners to make 1 CPU per division, Draft and initiate a 72 hours play or sim.

Yeah, if we do a new league that is not a fantasy draft I call the Packers. :cool:

he's not gonna turn it over to anyone. I was on him last night about it and he did all he could to avoid the topic. I told him he's got about 2 weeks(madden weeks) before this league breaks down completely so things need to pick up asap

Cardinals 45 - 49ers 14

Matthew Stafford has won the starting QB job back in Arizona. After a first half in which Locker couldn't get anything going and was picked twice, Stafford came into the game and went bananas, leading the Cardinals to 35 unanswered points after relieving Locker with the score 14-10 Niners late in the first half.

This is probably unprecedented, but Jake Locker put up a QB rating of 0.0 (3 of 10 for 26 yards and 2 picks), and then Stafford put up a perfect QB rating of 158.3 (12 of 13 for 250 yards and 3 TDs). I've never seen a more startling turnaround in QB play.

LeSean McCoy rushed 9 times for 122 yards and 2 TDs, most of those coming on scoring scampers of 31 and 80 yards. He also lost a fumble in the first half (when the Cards turned it over 3 times).

Tight End Jermaine Gresham, making his first start since being knocked out week 1, was the leading receiver with 4 catches for 82 yards and a TD. Fellow TE Shawn Nelson and Dwayne Bowe had the other TDs.

Patrick Willis was a beast in this one, with 8 total tackles (6 solo), a sack, an int, and a forced fumble. In all, the Cardinals picked of Kolb 4 times.

Definitely felt good to have such a strong offensive effort in the second half. This is the 2nd straight week where Stafford has relieved an ineffective Locker and played much better, so he's got the starting job back for the time being.

Really feels like the core guys in this league still want to make it work. I really think you should be part of that, since you're one of those core guys.

If we get through the season on an accelerated schedule, redistribute things so there is one CPU team per division, I still think this can work.

I do really hope that if Cru doesn't have time for this league, he's willing to turn it over to someone that does. I don't think we should be having any sort of Cru Coup though.. If he thinks he can handle the responsibility, he should be the one to do it, it's his league after all.
 
Beyond a shadow of a doubt there is nothing that will kill this league faster than the active veterans dropping out of it. Obviously nobody is obliged whatsoever to stick around, but just so we're clear there's not going to even be limping along if people start jumping ship: The league will be lucky to make it to next week, let alone next season.
 
Sorry. but my decisions final.

I can't actively put an effort into a league where the Leader could give a damn about the league itself, and the players openly rule themselves. 1/2 of the games i've played this season (including the most recent one) have felt like i was playing online ranked matches.(doom can attest, i've complained about a fair share of them)
All we care about is the win win win. fuck everyone else.

This is not fun. I play this game to have fun, not to break my window when i throw my controller through it when my opponent does: "2pt conversion when up by a ton, 5 wide qb runs, constant hurry up offense, passing in the 4th quarter when up by a ton, nano blitzes from the edge disguised as other things, etc etc etc."

I can get all this elsewhere. The Main league has rules, and RESPECTABLE players. The people in league 1 care about the league, more than just winning.

p.s. to be fair..the guilt thing might have kept me around....if i hadn't already played 7 straight weeks of 2 teams, and getting my ass raped week in and week out on 2 teams because i was the voluntary sub for venom. i'm not bailing because i don't care about it. i'm bailing because other people dont.

I guess I can't really argue with this. Cru hasn't posted in this thread in 10 days.

Please don't direct your hostility towards the people who are trying to save this league though. I know that's not what you're doing, but with the tenor of your post that's what it feels like. Although, I guess the people who do care are the only ones here to see it, which itself is the problem.
 
Excuse my language.. but this league just needs a kick in the ass. Period. I really hate to see this league die out just because the owner seems to not have enough time to run it. I am not trying to offend anyone, but we just need an owner who can be active. People have spent a lot of time on draft strategies and such to just let it die out, and fortunately there are a few members here who are trying to keep it alive. If I knew anything about running a league I'd step up and give it a go - but it would probably make more sense to have someone do so who has experience running a league..especially since it seems like this one is about to die. :(

Agree 100%. There are still around 20 players in this league who are veterans and active on the boards. We can easily make this league work if the people involved are willing to save it.

At this point, there's literally nothing to be done until Cru himself either addresses it or hands over the reins to someone else. There's really nothing the rest of us can do in the meantime short of just starting a new league, which I'm not really interested in.

Yeah. A new league would suck.. especially if it's a fantasy league. It's fun going through the process of building your team but it would be a drag to start over.
 
I hate playing against people who manipulate shit as much as anyone, but i also get a lot of pleasure in beating kids like that. nothing more satisfying than hittin a quick slant or goin over the top for a td against a kid whos nano blitzin all day.

if we can make it through the year, we can relocate and realign the divisions with legit players and it would be a great side league to the main one
 
i'm gonna be gettin control of the league either today or tomorrow so here's the heads up... the deadline will be set at 3 days. I feel this is ample time to get a game played... if there is some issue with scheduling a game, let me or Doomtime (who's still Co-Commish) know and we'll figure out whats best for the league. I will most likely be giving control to Doomtime but until I check with him, I have temporary control

I already have a sub loss against the Seahawks (to my brother), and you still have two games left against them. I'd suggest you play a sub for one and then we both play the CPU in the other. That seems the most fair solution in a tight division race.

I played LV. So next time we play the Seahawks we can both play the CPU. Can't wait for our game next week.
